UST was established for the primary reason of grooming boys to priesthood.

UP was founded for the primary reason of establishing the premiere university of the country.

Contributions wise in evangelization UST leads any university by that matter and is in fact disconnected with its 300 century old linkages and alumni from europe and asia, if UST could trace back all of its graduates from the 16th to the 19th century, hell UST may discover its alumni and contributions scattered all over the world that are undocumented.this is the herculean task that UST alumni assoc faces.

at the turn of the 19th century and at the fall of the spanish sword to the US annexation of the philippines. UST's dominion in a way weakened when the US introduced programs of state run colleges and universities with UP leading the helm of all other govt schools. But UST has withstood the tides of change and has contributed or equalized UP's nation building. and that is a feat that cannot be discounted for.

As I was saying, the foundations of both schools differ but the quest for nation building and contributions to society for its betterment continues from both schools.

your pretty much welcome here, though i hope you read the title and its context first before you put something in this thread. pls dont get me wrong though, i do not put any meaning to what you just wrote pero it generally gives everyone here an opinion on how you were molded, and educated. Maybe your from UP, and i guess you are, coz my story is,,,most of UST's bashers come from UP only, unlike the ateneans and lasallians who give due respect to the post and poser and the institution for that matter, only UP students malign UST's contribution to society(and i believe the threadstarter is also from UP), crab mentality?we will never know.And this thread does not lift or equalize UP's prestige as that of UST - bot schools have different identities that each of them can stand alone, it also merely requests for comparison of the 2 schools contribution to society.

hence with your reply, i can only atest that your flamebaiting and are a troll under the exclusivity of UST's forums.

if you are really serious about doing your research, do your legwork. It will not turn out into a scientific one if you do it like this. Kahit na sabihin mo na survey ang gusto mo gawin, ndi pa din magandang sample ang forum e. Make a really nice framework for your research wherein you will define what are your standards for making an accomplished university. Ipresent mo dito yung findings mo para mabasa namin lahat.
