    Samsung phones?

    Hi,

I need help on this. I started as a Nokia user, then Motorola, then Sony Ericsson. Since then, I've been a SE user. I am contemplating on replacing my SE W850i to another one but basing it from the SE lineup that's available, I can't seem to find one that I like. Now I am trying to look over the side of Samsung. Generally speaking, is Samsung really good in mobile phones, performance and feature wise?

    Messaging?
    Audio?
    Cam?
    User-interface?

    Thanks for the help!

In my opinion, Samsung is a very decent alternative to Sony Ericsson. Their latest camera phones: G600 and G800 looks promising. I also liked its interface. I believe it supports flash lite themes like the new phones of Sony Ericsson and is very highly customizable.

I would look into LG then Samsung if the other brands doesn't catch your interest.

Samsung phones have been receiving bad reviews.

I just bought (i mean through installment) a Samsung u300. Because I am not much of a text addict, I didnt mind the reviews stating the problem with its keypad. But I started getting frustrated because even a simple text is really hard to do. Not to mention the very slow response of the keypad. Very small memory too. The only thing I liked about it that it looks so sexy. Now, I have to convince myself I did the right thing of buying it, because I still have a couple of months more before I complete the installment.

been able to use various new samsung phones, except for the middle 'i' button in most of their phones, i have no other complaints. mas mabilis pa nga UI niya kesa sa nokia.

the u600/u700 are great phones overall. good design, fast UI, lots of features, very sleek and light.

samsung wouldnt be on a constant rise in the mobile phone industry if their phones suck. mas pangit pa nga majority ng mga bagong nokia na lumalabas.

I haven't really paid much attention to LG phones to be quite frankly and thanks for this, I might try to browse some LG phone reviews.

Among their phones, I'm looking at G600 as my next phone if ever I am going to the side of Samsung Ü

That's actually the same dilemma that my Samsung-user friends, and I am also a text junkie so I should really think about this.

On the other hand, you're correct, Samsung's mobile phones won't be on the constant rise if their phone sucks. The one thing that Samsung phones that strikes me is that they have the sleek and very sophisticated designs.

    Thanks for the reply.

    You guys are awesome!

I wouldn't mind trying a Samsung, to be honest.

The one that's caught my eye is the soon-to-be-released i450. The Russian site Mobile-review says in terms of sound quality, it's the best music phone yet, bar none.

Can u also customize it's icons and all. How about its wallpaper? Can you use animated wallpapers? I do like making my own themes using Flash Ü

I'm so happy with my Samsung D900. Camera's fine (3mp, iso, flash, white balance..), mp3's more than ok (it's like you're using an ipod pag naka head set), and i'm using a 2gig memory card kahit almost full na hindi bumabagal (unlike say, N70). Sobrang maalaga ako sa phone that's why my phone loves me back. Until now hindi pa nagkakatopak.

Really. That's nice. I am thinking of buying either G600 or W910 of SE but I'm torn between this argghh!!!

Just not to be biased (because I have always been and always will be a Samsung girl), I don't like the physical attributes of G600. Not so slick, the way all samsung phones should be. Apart from that, i like it.

I'm using a e590 right now and my only gripe is that you can't use custom message alert tones. Only the default ones.

    D880

i just bought a samsung sgh d880 last week to replace both of my 2 year old phones. and i have to say, it's the best damn invention since sliced bread.

ok that's a bit over exaggerating, but here's why i find it perfect.

i work in BKK and i maintain two phones. one for a Thailand line and another for a roaming Globe SIM so friends and relatives can send me SMS cheap. i bought a lousy $40 phone that i could use with my Globe line for incoming SMS. needless to say, it's very inconvenient keeping 2 phones in your pocket.

it's been a while since i wanted a proper and affordable dual-sim phone. i know there are other available models from less known brands but i cant find a trusty one. the d880 is the answer to my problem.

it can receive SMS and receive calls from both SIMs, seamlessly. however, you can only use the primary SIM for sending SMS and making calls. if you want to use the other SIM, you have to swap them by pressing a button on the phone. this will reboot the phone for almost a minute.

overall, quality and design is sleek. but samsung really is on the short end of the ergonomic and user-friendliness mark. for example, making an SMS is about two-steps longer than ericsson and nokia models. and other settings are also lousy.

but can't complain on the dual sim feature so i love this phone.

Hmmm, this is interesting. Thanks for the feedback, man. I recently referred the D880 to a colleague who was looking for a dual-SIM phone himself. At least now I have an idea of how it works in practice.

Minus points for the minute-long delay in switching SIMs, but I guess it's about as advanced as dual-SIM phones can get as they're pretty scarce right now.

Well, if you get a dual sim phone, if it breaks or gets stolen, you have two sims without a home.

You dont need to restart the phone if you want to text/call using the other sim. You just need to press the side button. Marerestart lang pag papalitan mo yung primary sim. The only thing i hate about this phone is the battery life, it only last for about 36 hours with moderate use. Overall a good phone
