    No clue as to good contractors.

    Find out the average electrical power consumption a.k.a. average electrical power input for each of those models and then post them here. You have to do your homework on this. Only then can we really compare inverter vs. non-inverter.

    Note that average power input is not the same as cooling capacity a.k.a. cooling power a.k.a. power output. Also, EER is supposed to somehow reflect 'efficiency' but its formula is so complicated that it is not clear to me whether it is possible and how to estimate energy usage using EER. I prefer the simple and direct way, namely (average power consumption in kilowatts) x (hours).

    If not on the spec sheet or website, you have to specifically ask for it from a technically competent representative of a dealership or of the manufacturer. They SHOULD be able to provide this data because otherwise there is no way to make energy usage and cost estimates prior to purchase.

    Take into consideration the size of the room and HP rating and other sources of heat such as computers, appliances, windows. Also the positioning of the a/c's outdoor unit; it should avoid being hit by direct sunlight. I considered these factors when I replaced my window type into a split type. So far everything's great.

    I remember reading a chart before
    1.5hp=20-25 sqm
    1.0hp=15-20 sqm

    Most A/C shops/sellers conduct a survey prior to installation to properly recommend what HP rating is needed for your room.

    Ok lang ba ang 2 split aircon with 1 compressor like Kolin? How is the power consumption of this type? Can it cool the room the same way the standard split aircon does?

    I think it is better pa rin you get the 1 evaporator and 1 compressor para kung masira, meron ka pa isa.

    Anyone familiar with the Mitsubishi brand of airconditioners? Mr. Slim model line?

    According to sales person Matsushita din daw galing ang compressor.
    Ok ba performance?

    I have a colleague that has the Gree na split type ... I don't hear him complaining :-) ... he said matipid naman daw ... though he is at the office most of the time naman

    just got a kolin e-series 1.2HP. Ok sya mabilis lumamig yung room pero sana pala split-type na lang kinuha ko coz im sensitive to aircon sounds. tahimik naman sya pero dinig ko pa din pag namamatay at nag-on ang compressor.

    nakalagay din sa manual nito na mas ok sya as no-drip mode. i wonder why is that? what happens to the water that is building-up inside the unit? where does it go?

    I'm very disappointed with our Condura 1.5HP window-type airconditioner. Wala pang 4 years, nagkaroon na ng leak sa evaporator kaya humina ang lamig and nagkakaroon ng ice. We bought the unit on September 2006 and already, there are problems with it. Sad part is, there are no parts available. Mismo representative na ng Concepcion Industries nagsabi na wala silang parts available to replace the evaporator coil.

    Puede daw ako magpa-fabricate ng evaporator coil mismo sa Concepcion Industries, but I would have to wait about 2 months because they manufacture in volume and have a production schedule to follow, kaya isisingit lang yung pag-fabricate ng evaporator for my A/C unit. Take note, yung 2 months may take even longer.

    In other words, it appears that the airconditioners produced by Concepcion Industries are DISPOSABLE because they cannot provide parts for units that are 3 years old.

    I will buy a new A/C unit, but definitely NOT a Condura or Carrier or any other brand manufactured by Concepcion Industries.

    ano po ang mas ok bilhin?

    ^ same question.
    is the cooling power of a 2.5 HP window type the same as the cooling power of a 2.5 HP split? recommended brands for both home and commercial uses please.

    just wondering, what are your thoughts about portable aircon? parang ganito - http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews83367.html

    I remember something about this sa ibang thread ... if tama pagkaka-alala ko ... when comparing you should look at the BTU (per hour)... horsepower only refers to the "size" of the compressor. Pero its better din if you take them both when comparing, kaya meron ata tayong horsepower (or is that kilowatt) to BTU per hour na ratio that we call EER or Energy Efficiency Ratio.

    also, looking into good split type aircons. ano kaya ok na brand?
