1.5 HP inverter ASV series. Purchased in Avant. It was P34,000++ (there was an additional delivery charge which was paid by my brother). Freebie was a Samsung vacuum cleaner. Paid P6,500 for installation (provincial). It was a toss between Hitachi (4,000 more) or Panasonic (2,500 more). I decided to do Samsung. So far it passed (with flying colors) the hottest days of the year. I really like the remote control functions, with a very legible display. I particularly like the timer options and the good o'le sleep mode. It's whisper quiet. I'm still wondering about its longevity though.

sinong may LG inverter po sa inyo? any feedback on LG HS-091VP model?
thanks. We were at Ansons Makati last weekend. may budget constraint kasi kami, nakakalula na masyado ang carrier at panasonic na brands, although I want either of these. For the LG offer, up to 16feet ang covered ng installation nila which is just P3,500, compared sa Carrier/Panasonic which only covers up to 10feet and the installation fee is much costly.
according to the agent, as I understood it right, LG will no longer produce the previous model, and so he offered us the new model for the price of the old one which is P31k.
in terms of cost (unit+installation), LG seems to be the cheapest of these 3 brands. the thing is I am not sure if LG brand is a good brand.
Mommy, LG is getting popular sa tv, and is popular sa front loading washing machine, dunno sa aircon. pero they seem to be taking good care of their name, so I guess, quality wise, they are gaining ground.
give it a try.
i am planning to change my window type aircon to an inverter split type. i currently have the condura window type aircon with timer and remote.
the problem is, i just discovered na wala palang saksakan sa electrical outlet ang split type? very useful kasi sa akin yung window type aircon ko now because i use the timer everyday then meron provision para sa saksakan ng electric fan yung mismong saksakan ng aircon. so if namatay yung aircon because of the timer, automatic na nagbubukas yung electric fan in the middle of the night. very useful kasi sakin to and it's a must feature when i buy a split type aircon.
i am moving in to a smaller bedroom kaya gusto ko palitan ng split type yung window type aircon ko in order to conserve space. kaso gusto ko parin sana magamit yung timer with automatic fan on feature cause i do not want to wake up at night just to open the fan once nag-off na ang aircon. any suggestions or solution to my problem?
You can get a plug-in timer for your electric fan at any hardware store.
HTH
I own a 1.5hp and 2.0hp LG inverter, got it last year from Appliance Savers Depot sa C5 Valle Verde (beside Mitsu dealership). Pero I got it from an online ad of one of their sales people, si Rommel. Laki nang discount ko at that time, 70k for both units, including installation. Check nyo na lang ang latest ad nya, and see if the discount is still significant compared to store prices.
http://sulit.com.ph/3404294 (40% savings)
http://sulit.com.ph/3955525 (60% savings) - 1hp is 27k
http://sulit.com.ph/4535407 (60% savings) - 1.5hp is 30.6k
Liit lang nang price difference nang 1hp at 1.5hp. Mas ok if kunin mo yung mas malakas, para hindi pwersado ang acu, and mas mabilis mag kick in ang inverter savings.
Do you consider a timer as an important feature in an aircon?
Yes, timers really help save electricity
Unfortunately, the plug feature you're referring to is only available on Carrier window-type A/Cs.
What you can do is this. When you buy your split-type A/C, set the timer, say 8 hours, then set your plug-in timer (purchased from a hardware) connected to an electric fan for 9 hours. When your spit-type A/C turns off, your electric fan will turn on after one hour.
Ano pinaka ok na inverter 1HP and 1.5HP when it comes to savings in electricity and overall operation of the unit? Carrier? LG? Panasonic? or Samsung? Gusto ko sana yung mabilis lumamig..
Hi to all! I recently bought a Carrier i-cool series AC 0.75HP w/ timer and already installed in our room. Haven't used it yet as it was just installed this afternoon. It's very quiet when we tested it a while ago. Question lang pala dun sa mga nakaka-alam... CCAC (Concepcion Carrier) has this campaign in their website where they apply durakote spray to your AC unit to prevent corrosion. I know for a fact that the new Condura ACs now come pre-sprayed with durakote sa factory but mas gusto ko pa din kasi ang carrier than condura. Also the i-cool series has this clean look that blends well with our room. Ask ko lang po kung magkano ang aabutin pag nagpa-spray ako ng durakote? And is it worth the money ba? How long does the process take place? TIA
any feedback about American Home window type AC? ano po ba ang pinaka best brand ng AC na bagay para sa room na sobrang napakainit? nakatapat kasi ang room namin sa araw pag dating ng hapon and we're like inside the oven sa init. As for now we are using American Home pero tamang lamig lang talaga siya di kagaya nung nag kukumot kana sa lamig. Inisip ko lang kasi baka dahil lang din sa sobrang init ng kwarto kaya ganun. 1HP po un and 20sq mtr *** room.
Did you know that using an aircon costs only P5/hour?
Allow your family to enjoy the comfort and convenience of using an air con with energy efficient air con models.
For rooms of up to 18 sq. m., use a1.0 HP inverter split-type air con. The inverter technology promises up to 50% savings versus a conventional split-type air con. It can reach the desired temperature setting faster, making it more energy efficient.Once it reaches the desired temperature, the compressor will just slow down to maintain the desired room temperature. With conventional units, the compressor turns on and off during its whole operationmaking it very inefficient because it consumes maximum power every time the compressor starts to work.
For rooms, 10 sq. meters and below, use a 0.6 HP window type air con. Now you and your kids don't need to share a room just to be able to use the air con. Teach your kids how to be independent and give them the opportunity to learn how to manage your electricity consumptionby allowing them to use the air con in their own room.
When buying and using an air con, take note of the following:
1. Check the yellow energy guide attached to the air conditioning unit to find out the Energy Efficient Ratio (EER). The higher the EER, the more energy efficient the unit is.
2. Install the aircon in a cool area. A unit operating in the shade uses 10 percent less electricity than the same unit operating under direct sunlight.
3. Regularly clean or replace the aircon filter and condenser. A clogged filter will prevent air circulation while a dirty condenser will not efficiently expel the heat load of your airconditioned room.
4. Don't place lamps, television sets and other heat generating appliances near your aircon. The thermostat picks up their heat, prompting the machine to run longer than necessary.
5. Using an oversized air conditioner is actually less economical and not energy efficient. Meralco recommends air conditioning units which are properly matched with the size of area or room to be cooled. To determine which size of unit is best for your cooling needs, you may refer to this table:

For us, the best aircon brand is Carrier. In fact, this brand has been awarded as the best-selling aircon brand of 2010 at the 7th annual GfK No. 1 Awards held at the Marriott Hotel.
Limang taon na naming gamit ang Window Room Air Conditioner (WRAC) nila sa aming condo unit sa The Amaryllis (DMCI). Hindi pa kami nagpapalit ng bago dahil name-maintain naman ng maayos at talagang matibay!
