Carpio works with the COMELEC and has been employed there for several years already. Carpio indeed peaked in the 80's while playing for Great Taste Coffee where he was coined "The Scavenger," and, as the late Joe Cantada would say, "turns garbage into gold." And yes, ahead of Freddie Abuda's monicker.
A product of the Ateneo University when it was only Ateneo College back then, and part of the victorious 1975 NCAA champion team, Carpio played for several national teams and with Crispa 400's in the MICAA before joining the PBA for the Crispa Redmanizers. He moved to GTC in 1983.
