I was able to control the amount of epidural I have depending on my pain tolerance...it's so cool to have that button that you press if you need more...

it helped a lot co zmy son won't come out... they have to use forceps just to get him out of there....

I also had epidural. Not sure kung ano *** twilight.

Based on your comments, ok yung epidural kasi awake the whole time BUT hindi naman mararamdaman yung contractions. I'm not really sure what kind of pain or contractions to expect so I'm not really sure din kung paano iire. I had a friend kasi na sabi sa kanya mali daw yung pag-ire niya. So paanong ire ba talaga ang gagawin?

Another friend of mine, I think she used twilight kasi nakatulog daw siya after niya manganak. Ayaw ko naman ng ganun kasi I want to see my baby's first bath and other stuff that they do to babies after delivery.

Para sa mga first time manganganak, what would you recommend?

ako,epidural...ang saya kasi you don't feel the pain & you see your baby right away...may pictures pa kami, before sya dinala sa nursery

I just found out last week sa isang midwife na yung twilight pala ay painless birth pero IV sedation yung gagamitin so yun nga medyo aantukin ka, unlike yung epidural painless din pero gising ka the whole time, don sa spinal cord mo padadaanin yung epidural. By the way, epidural ako sa first baby ko, don sa second baby ko, hindi ako nagpapainless so in other words painful delivery pero ok lang malakas naman tolerance ko sa pain.

I just gave birth last Aug 27 to my baby girl sa Makati Med. My goal was to have a normal delivery. Only then did I find out na most, if not all women in labour were given epidural / the anesthesia injected thru the spine. Akala ko nung time ko, mafe-feel ko lahat ng pain on having a normal delivery. I was happy that they gave me epidural kasi when I was already in the active-delivery stage, I couldn't really feel any contractions/labour pains. I was just sleeping. Then when it was time to push, my baby was still far high up and my ob decided to just break my water to help things get along. I was pushing for less than 30 minutes kasi may help ng mga about 3 or 4 na resident ob, pushing my baby out of me. Parang mahina ata ako magpush pero they were giving me instructions at the time. Side effect, I felt nauseous that I threw up around 3/4 times. When they were already cleaning my baby, I was looking and the doctor asked, "are you crying?", I said "no, I feel nauseous again." -->haha!

my OB told me that she's not recommending epidural kasi mahihirapan daw ako magpush kapag ilalabas na yung baby. ok lang sakin para tipid and malakas naman tolerance ko sa pain eh. sana lang malabanan ko yung antok afterwards para makita ko yung ginagawa sa baby ko.

Two of my friends just gave birth and they both got an epidural. They said they didn't feel anything. They were numb from their waste down to their toes. It was totally painless but they had the hard time. They didn't know when to push because they couldn't feel no contractions. Their OBs were coaching them when and how to push.

I'm on my 4th month now. I still don't know if I should get an epidural or not.. I'm so scared that I might feel anything. I get so weak just thinking about giving birth. I'm excited, though. hehe!

I got an epidural... But they gave me Demerol nung 2cm na ako... Balak ko sana no-drugs... Pero indi kinaya ng powers ko I asked for it when I was 5-6cm na... Kapag masyadong maaga - mahihirapan ka ng manganak.

The painful part of having the epidural is when they're "injecting" your spine... HINDI MASAKIT yung pag-inject... MAHIRAP and MASAKIT lang kasi I was having contractions - saka nila ako ine-inject. And you have to be in a fetal position then. Hirap maintain fetal position while you're having yung contractions.

But I have to tell you that AFTER all the pain. IT WILL BE THE BEST EXPERIENCE YOU'LL EVERY HAVE - Pain-free or not.

Let me know if you want to attend Lamaze classes. I'll give you the number.

Twilight anesthesia's popular in the 90s, pero ngayon di na 'to masyadong inooffer kasi may mga studies na may effect daw 'to sa babies. Ito yung sedated ka; akala mo tulog ka because you don't feel any pain but some are actually yelling in pain, di lang nila maalala.

Epidural's when they administer the anesthesia in your spine.
