At least one lawmaker was injured following the explosion at the Batasang Pambansa complex in Quezon City Tuesday night.

The blast injured Rep. Luz Ilagan of party-list group Gabriela. She sustained shrapnel wounds on her right leg. She was taken to General Malvar hospital on Commonwealth Avenue.

Radio dzMM's Anthony Taberna said the blast took place outside the session hall, near Ilagan's Lite-Ace van.

An initial report, meanwhile, said at least six persons were hurt in the explosion past 8 p.m.

the PNP will most likely conclude this is a gas leak. not a bomb, just methane gas and lpg gas blast.

Darn, I still can't get over that obvious cover-up by the PNP. I would think they'll be covering this up as well--or will the PNP now turn around and say they, pardon the pun, blew it on the Glorietta investigation?

The South Entrance of the Batasan was hit.

A car bomb or an IED is the supposed culprit.

Senate goes on red alert

By Veronica Uy

MANILA, Philippines -- Following the explosion at the House of Representatives Tuesday night, the Senate security immediately went on red alert.

Retired general Jose Balajadia, Senate sergeant at arms, said that as soon as he heard what happened at the Lower House, he instructed his men “to go on red alert” and “to check everything -- cars, rooms, and comfort rooms -- especially anything that might be out of the ordinary.”

Balajadia refused to disclose the number of security personnel he has at the Senate compound in Pasay City, but said that he has enough and won't require additional personnel.

“I also ordered sniffing dogs for the night,” he told INQUIRER.net in a phone interview.

Finally, the terrorists are learning to bomb the right places.

If they continue to bomb the Batasan, the palace, forbes park, and corinthian gardens thereby killing the country's parasites and sparing the poor innocent civilians who crowd the MRT and the malls, then history will judge them as heroes. This is good news indeed.

Nothing heroic about bombing innocent civilians. Rich or poor.

Why stop at Forbes Park? Next up - Dasmarinyas village, Urdaneta village, Greenhills. Kill all the parasites.
