The DigiBox acts as a decoder of the encoded data from SkyCable.
It can only decode 1 channel at a time, not simultaneously.

Oh Lol. yah. here's the catch too. sky cable can control your digibox thru their computer.

they can tell your digital cable box to decod and what not to decode.

1 cable box per tv, my friend. that's how it is.

No.. it can't do HD. (the one here in teh phils, atleast). sa states there's a different digital cable box for analog and high def signal.

and the one available from sky cable is only for analog signals.

it's not a TiVo, all it does is decode cable signal para umabot ng 100+ ang channels.

And also, limits you from having multiple TVs with only 1 subscription...

it's not like SATELLITE WHERE it definitely is ONE decoder per tv.

sa cable, atleast one tv gets 100+ channels, the rest of the tvs can get the regular channels... so k lang, din.

plus youc an always just go buy another decoder anyway..

you change channels thru the cable box.

so no work around talaga.

1 cable box == 1 tv.

it's not uncommon to have multiple cable boxes sa n. america, actually.

naka digital box yung tv ko mas maganda yung picture quality dahil digital signals na hindi analog. Yung broadcast may delay ng 3 seconds at 7 seconds ang delay sa channel 7 at QTV.

according to skycable, my area just got encrypted that's why i'm missing some channels from my line-up. they said the only way for these channels to come back is to get the digibox which is worth 1500php.

my question is: is the digibox worth getting? aside from getting those channels back (my NHK is missing!), the digibox should be giving me crisp picture quality. will there be a big difference ba?

Yes! worth it naman sya however medyo mabigat yung P1,500 na cash outlay, the first time. However, refundable naman should you decide na to unsubscribe. Maganda naman reception as compared to before dahil 'tap-proof' na ang Sky simula nung implement nila yung digibox. Nung ala pa digibox, we always complain of why our reception is always not too good as expected. Yun naman pala, sala-salabat ang coaxial cable ng nag-tap sa amin, at worse, nag-papa-tap sila sa ibang kapitbahay naman for a fee. Imagine, kme nagbabayad tapos iba pinagkaka-kitaan pa.

3 tv namin sa bahay and they only gave us 1 box. aren't they suppose to give 2 more? don't have time to complain in their office.
