All, I have a European friend who has never been to Asia, but is exploring the possibility of surfing in Asia, possibly the Philippines. Any good, SAFE, well-organized local sites that you could recommend? Thanks in advance.

He can go to LaUNion or Zambales. But if they want big swells, Siargao is a good spot.

im planning lang mag surf sa Zambales lang, malapit lapit kasi.
may magandang spot din dun at nagtuturo. kaso depende nga lang kung may magandang waves.
sayang, naka-down yung isang forum for pinoy surfers eh..di ko tuloy ma-contact. hu hu. i want to surf na!

this is an entry of ours to a bpi video contest, but it has a clip of surfing in urbiztondo beach, launion (from middle to end part)

the waves are actually small that day, but it gets better when surf season is beginning to creep in.

this was taken just last week (may 2009) so one can't be expecting gimongous waves heheh.

I was in Quezon last week, not for surf trip...pero napansin ko wala pa ring alon eh...

for me, La Union yung mas maganda. pwede rin sa zambales pero hindi kasi consistent waves dun kung maganda or hindi e. sa La Union, maganda mga alon ngayon, kahit for beginners.

hi guys, im glad my surfers din pala dito. La union is best for beginners kase di ganon kalaki waves.

im quite surprised that no one mentioned bagasbas beach in Daet, Cam Norte. Mas ok waves nya compared to La Union. My surfing clinic nga ngayong weekend kaso my bagyo so i dunno kung natuloy. 100/hr lang ksma na trainer. but on regular days 400/hr ksma na board and instructor. Beginners would start with a long board. For experienced surfers, they also have boards for rent if you guys prefer short boards.

For those who have their own boards you may also surf @ San Jose beach also in Daet. mas ok sya kase *** masyado tao. I'd say mas ok waves nya kesa bagasbas kase hindi basag agad.

i read on this thread that some of you are looking for 2nd hand surf boards. Sayang kase sa Daet my ngbenta 3k lang short board, fiber, 6 yung size. and in good condition pa. rush sale sya, though nabenta na *****. they also sell bnew surf boards. 17,500php and above.

here are some photos of what surfing in bagasbas is like. photos were taken september of 2008. first time nmen to try surfing. bumalik na kame dun several times. and umaabot yun wave from 3-5feet. If ever you'll go surfing in Bagasbas Beach, Daet please look for mocha/kharen or Ingket.
