    Wow! A Christopher Pike thread!

I read his books through highschool. Seems lahat nung titles na nasabi nyo nabasa ko na pero di ko na lang masaydo matandaan. Talk about dull memory chips in my head.

The titles I remember (my most fave ones) are Witch, Spellbound, Monster and The Last Vampire series. Actually, I think his (?) vampire series is the one that ushered me into reading Anne Rice.

The Last Vampire... Sita and her guys with All-American names, Yaksha... Wow. I think I love them as I love Mekare, Maharet, Lestat and Armand.

I love the Cold One too. The twists on that one was shocking. Can't seem to find the next installment to the Cold One though. Anyone know where to find it? It's killing me.

Yes I'm curious also with the sequel. Hope somebody here has it

I've read all 3 Remember Me stories. The first one was still the best. But the last 2 were good in that they were quite moving and almost godly.

    Alosha postponed to Sept

    From Publishers Weekly

Bestselling children's author Pike (The Cold One) delivers a somewhat muddled elvish fantasy, the first in a new series aimed at an adult as well as a YA audience. Passionate about saving trees, 13-year-old Alison Warner just happens to live in a California town that's been targeted by the lumber industry. Ali protests and rides her bike into the forbidding mountains where the work is about to begin. There Ali starts to realize that she's not who she thought she was, that she has an important job to fulfill, that in fact she's the Queen of the Fairies from another dimension who has hidden in a human body. Flat supporting characters with little motivation other than a kid's need for adventure, plus a protagonist who too often acts like a whiny five-year-old one moment and a cranky 30-year-old the next, make this one of Pike's lesser efforts.

    Book Description
Every young girl dreams that she's secretly a princess of a far-off land and that someday her true parents will come to claim her and usher her into a life of luxury, an fabulous existence where she might even have magical powers and be swept off her feet by a handsome prince.
Teenager Ali Warner has reason to cling to such a fantasy. Her mother died in a car accident a year ago. Her father, a trucker determined to work through his grief, hasn't acknowledged Ali's burgeoning figure or complicated emotions. Her friends still aren't sure how to talk about her mother's death. And the Southern California forest that has always been Ali's refuge is about to be ravaged by logging.
Ali is about to discover that she is a princess-a fairy princess. And that she has to save the world. For real.

To claim her fairy powers, Ali must overcome seven potentially lethal challenges. Then she must scale a mountain and confront the King of the Dwarves and the King of the Elves, whose armies are poised to invade Earth.

With her bemused 21st century friends, a sly leprechaun, and an extremely loyal, extremely ugly, troll by her side, Ali begins the most momentous journey of her young life, a journey during which she will learn much about herself and the past she thought she knew. She will conquer fire and water, earth and air, and even time itself. She will be both betrayer and betrayed, will see death close at hand, and will snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
Ali Warner is Alosha. Welcome to her world.

I absolutely adore Christopher Pike. He was my author of choice when I outgrew the Sweet Valley High Set.

My favorite is Remember Me. That book still sits by me bedside bookshelf up to this day. My collection consists mostly of his earlier books (the better ones, IMO). I think I have the following:

    Remember Me
    Remember Me 2
    Gimme A Kiss
    Spellbound
    Fall Into Darkness
    Monster
    Last Act
    See You Later
    Bury Me Deep
    Chain Letter 2
    Whisper of Death

My second favorite books are the Final Friends series. Does anybody know if I can still get these anywhere in the Philippines?

My third favorite is Monster. I became temporarily paranoid with drinking non-bottled water after reading that book.

Some National Bookstores still carry his books, but each branch has only about one or two titles.

i started reading christopher pike books when i was in grade school.. the first one i read was "see you later". it was a bit strange ('cause before then i was used to reading sweet valley stuff), but strange is good

from then on i became addicted to his books and bought every single one i could lay my hands on..

i think i've read most of his books already, the best for me though is "season of passage" mentioned by chryseis a few posts back (the one with the astronauts going to mars, etc. etc.)

i think it's christopher pike at his finest

i'm bit careless with my stuff so most of my books are already gone i hope that "season of passage" was not among the casualties, though *goes to check her stash of books*

i haven't read the cold one and the season of passage yet. i suppose i won't find them in powerbooks, baka mas may pag-asa pang mahanap sila in second-hand book shops.

this is one author i've been reading since high school. got a complete set of his books. a friend of mine who actually met him during a book signing years ago said he was cute... okay that's besides the point. hehe.

season of passage and sati are, for me, his best writings yet.

tina11, sometimes you'll get lucky and find his books in 2nd hand bookstores. try books for less.

hey there lone_gunmen! hehe.. ayus! =] oo nga eh badtrip un...

eto *** mga synopsis nila.... hehehe!!! =]

    Final Friends: The Party
When Mesa High closed, more than half the students were sent to Tabb High. Among them were Jessica Hart and her best friends, Sara Cantrell, Polly McCoy, and Polly's younger sister--Alice. Together they decided to have a "get to know each other" party. They invited dozens of people: Michael Olson--shy as he was brilliant; Nick Grutler--powerful and insecure; Bill Skater--the handsome quarterback; Clair Hilrey--the gorgeous cheerleader, and "Bubba"--whom all the girls loved and hated.

But some people came that weren't invited.

And the evening ended in horror.

Most figured it was a suicide.

    They figured wrong.

    Final Friends: The Dance
The party was over. Alice McCoy was dead--a depressed girl who'd taken a loaded gun to her head. At least that was what everyone thought. Everyone except Michael Olson. He knew it was no suicide. But how could he prove it? How could he catch a murderer that seemingly had the power to walk through walls? And how could he tell Jessica Hart that he loved her when she obviously preferred someone else? Michael did not know, but he would try his best. It will not be enough. For him or Jessica. The homecoming dance will end like the party--in horror.

The murderer will walk through another wall. . . .

    Final Friends: The Graduation
The last day of school had finally arrived, six months after the homecoming dance and the ruin of a princess, and nine months after the big party and the death of an angel. It is to be a busy day; there is the graduation ceremony in the afternoon in the football stadium, and then the senior all-night party aboard a cruise ship heading to Catalina.

But for Michael Olson, it is not a time to celebrate. It is a day to finish an investigation that may cost him his life. It is also a final chance to let the girl of his dreams, Jessica Hart, know his feelings for her.

But the last day will not last long enough.

    For Michael or Jessica.

The cruise ship will never reach its destination.

The truth will turn out to be a lie.
