since yung flight from manila to shanghai e sa pudong ang dating, would it be ok to book your hotel in the pudong area, or dapat talaga malapit sa the bund?

malayo ang pudong airport sa downtown , 30 kms from longyang kung san nagooriginate ang maglev..

i suggest you get hotel/inn malapit sa subway para madali ka makalibot sa mga places..like sa jingan or people's square.

for first timers..maganda shanghai,, lalo na yung architecture like oriental, the bund, jinmao, yuyuan garden,

kakasawa na rin pag nalibot na , kaya gawain ng iba by train punta ng nanjing , suzhou , hangzhou etc.. ..

hahahah...ngayon ko lang nabasa to ah.....

I do have some RMB pero konti lang talaga. You can buy a few RMB at the Money Changer in Malate. But DO NOT buy a lot, ok? The rate is high. Just buy enough for your first day lang sa China.

I reccomend the Money Changer next to Manila Pavillion Hotel. Manila Pavillion Hotel is in United Nation corner Maria Orosa. The Money Changer is next to 7-11 and the hotel entrance (Not the Casino entrance). Reason is that they have a Casino there and a lot of tourist from Mainland China come here to gamble. So they usually change their money at the Money changer next to the hotel entrance. There are 2 money changer there. One is next to Mcdonalds and the other one is right next to the hotel and 7-11. I reccomend the one next to 7-11 because the guy my friend and their rates are better.

Oo naman...what a question... Unless you want to be like me, walking in Shanghai city for 4 hours looking for a cheap accommodation. Good thing was able to find one that can accommodate me before my feet got frozen from the cold temperature.

sorry po. my question should've read: kailangan ba talagang magpa-reserve ng hotel/hostel as early as now? parang hindi pa kasi ako makapag-decide kung saan eh.

we went there last jan 2 to 7, and i love shanghai! probably dahil love ko ang weather nila doon ngayon. super lamig (-5 to -8 on some nights), pero walang snow. i really hate snow, hehe. napaka-modern ng shanghai -- super wide streets, super tall buildings, and maraming attractions.

don kami sa holiday inn pudong, and the staff was really friendly. pinasulat namin lahat ng pupuntahan namin sa card nila with chinese characters to help us with the taxis. wala naman kaming na-encounter na problem with any taxi.

wala ako masyado na-shop kasi parang same lang din dito sa pinas yung items, especially yung sa yuyuan gardens. mas happy mag-shop sa mga department stores nila than sa mga tiangge kasi andaming sale ngayon.
