Hello! The Chinese have this really excellent natural medicine for colds and winds which has proven to be very effective. I have 2 kids and I always use this Chinese medicine for them. The medicine comes in powder form and can be bought in boxes of 6 pieces. We call it "Ding Kak Sua". The name of the medicine sounds like "Yim Chiu Powder" (not sure). Try to visit Mandarin drug store in Robinson's Pioneer or Robinson's Place Manila and ask for their assistance.

    Bwisit talaga Halak

My two kids constantly get this "halak" and to my observation, its seasonal. Whenever the grass grows those white things "Talahib" ba yun? For sure they get the halak back. Like you I've been with so many doctors. We have tried disudrin, Lagundi, Mucosulvan, Ventolin nebule, Budecort nebule, neozep and Allerkid. And through time I got to see which ones are the most effective.

The first thing you need to do is find out what your baby i allergic to. In my case, the doctor asked me to make sure the room is free of dust. Strictly no stuffed toys. No curtains and use only Hypoallergenic pillows and blankets. Use non-scented everything! Avoid food that are what you call "Malansa" when all these are removed and your baby's cough is gone. Introduce the possible allergens one by one and observe if this causes him or her to cough again. For example, this week let him or her play with stuffed toys. If no cough develops then it isn't the allergen. Then the next week, introduce some eggs and chicken back to the diet...and so on.

For allergies, the safest and best that I use on my kids is "Allerkid" ask your doctor about it. For the cough & cold, nebulization with Ventolin then Budecort after 30 mins 2x a day does the job really well. But it is very expensive.

I also recommend that you go to a specialist. An EENT pediatrician is best because he can irrigate and aspirate the mucous during the check up. I recommend DR. Timtiman of De Ocampo Hospital, in Pandacan, Manila.

I hope this helps. God bless.
