    Copycat versus Original

Let's put up the heat this rainy season people!

Put in your comments about this old but still debatable issue:

Which is better? The NCAA (the original league as NCAA member schools see themselves) or the UAAP (the copycat league as NCAA member schools label it)?

This is a healthy thread wherein you can trade views, not meant for bashing.

    Copycat >>> Original

Last year lang mas exciting ang NCAA dahil suspended ang DLSU at maganda ang slogan ng SBC, "End 28 @ 82." Ngayon mas exciting na ulit ang UAAP with the return of the Green Archers. Tapos yung NCAA, suspended ang PCU at may game-fixing scandal ang CSB.

Aren't you sick of threads talking about the NCAA in a UAAP forum?

I can foresee another insufferably long series of posts harping about San Beda and Letran, for instance.

This is like saying "aren't you sick of threads talking about the La Salle - Ateneo rivalry?"

Come on! This is a fact of college sports! As long as these two big leagues exist or even after long these two gets defunct, comparisons will never cease to exist! Get a grip on it!!!

well, mas okay na ang UAAP ngayon for so many reasons.

UAAP was established by UP, UST, and NU. And UST and UP were former members of the NCAA.

Di naman siguro lilipat ang iba pang schools from NCAA to the newer UAAP kung hindi mas okay sa UAAP.

And generally, mas okay ang line up ng schools in the UAAP.

UAAP the copycat league? I don't think so, I'm sure UP and UST had reasons why they left NCAA and formed the UAAP with NU. Meron silang di nagustuhan sa NCAA, and they made sure na iba ang newer UAAP.

The NCAA is a copy of the NCAA of the USA. Sus pati pangalan.

UAAP first introduced the Final Four format, and the cheering competitions. Wala naman ganon sa kabila dati.

^UAAP was founded by UP, UST, NU & FEU.

Mas malaki ang exposure sa UAAP kesa sa NCAA. Ang proof: Aljamal was the only NCAA player to be drafted last August 19.

a talaga? naging member din ba ng NCAA ang FEU.

FEU was formerly known as Institute of Accounts diba? or UE ba un?

Yes, one of the founding members ng NCAA ang Institute of Accounts a.k.a FEU.

UST and UP bolted out of the NCAA then and, together with NU, formed the big three league. After about 2 years, FEU joined the 3 and thus created the UAAP.

he best analogy: ang ncaa ay that's entertainment, ang uaap ay ang tv... original ng aang that's pero naman, pagdating sa quality talong talo ng ang tv... the latter's funnier, more entertaining.

oh, by the way, im sick of people keep on reiterating that the uaap now is more exciting because of the return of lasalle, wake up... exciting lang yun sa inyo, (o maybe sa ateneo rin). egos.

The competitiveness of the UAAP schools with regards to the BIGGEST TROPHY aka Overall Championship, due to a greater number of sports; gives the "so-called" "copycat" the edge over the "other".
