yeah, if we're going to look closely, no big club has made any significant moves in the market aside from Real. it's still all talk at this point. that said, i hope Barcelona don't get complacent because it's going to be long season for us; with the CWC included in our calendar.

i wonder who'll be the next standout from our cantera Pedro perhaps?

[QUOTE=marky_83;36253844]Eto'o +10M for Ibrahimovich??? say it ain't so

I saw that news on CNN...

grr talaga as in... ewan, parang ok naman na ko sa players ng Barca...

BArca wouldn't be complete without the amazing trio... (HEnry, eto'o & Messi)

Ridiculous. Only 35m euros to play with? I assume if they sign Villa for around 40m euros they'll get 30m back by selling eto'o and if anything does happen with Mascherano I assume Yaya will be sold (plus other useless players) to offset that amount.

Robinho rumors turned out to be absolutely false according to Man. City CEO.

VV and Yaya have signed contract extentions.

Hope we sign Eto'o soon. And hopefully El Guaje.

espn reports that barca is selling eto'o so they can afford david villa

    ^ Oh no!

    I like D.Villa but I really don't want to see Eto'o go...

  9. #89
its done. eto'o plus 50mil euros plus hleb on loan for zlatan ibrahimovich. if that's not highway robbery i don't know what is.

samu, you will always be remembered as one of the best barca strikers ever. (sniffs)

ibra, u better be worth it.

Eto' o has been consistent with goals for Barcelona. Hope Ibrahimo can do the same.

    Thanks.

Barca won the first leg of the Supercopa. Xavi and Pedro scored the goals.

    First Trophy of the Year....

FCB has just won the Supercopa by defeating Bilbao 3-0 in the second leg.

I have already seen some highlights on youtube. The first goal was classic Messi. He received the ball from a pass by Ibra, drove it down the throat of the defense, then flicked the ball over the keeper who was right in front of him.

The third goal seemed almost like walk-in for Bojan. He stole a pass, dribbled around the keeper and took his time to push it over the goal-line.

What was the deal with Sylvinho? Bit of talk that he might be signing on a freebie.

  15. #95
sylvinho? i thought he was playing back in brazil. barca opted not to renew his contract and he left for a free i guess.

saw the supercopa game online...id say ibra is looking better. give him a few weeks, magiging telepathic na sila ni messi

What's your cold-blooded/unbiased opinion of Barca's chances against Real: (1) head-to-head; and (2) primera liga title race?

This year's Real is, on paper, at least three-folds better than last year's Real, whereas Barca is fielding almost the same team as last year.

Obviously, the Xavi-Iniesta partnership in midfield is probably the best in the world right now. Plus, Messi should win the World Footballer of the Year award. Henry and Ibra are definitely no slouches. Solid pa rin naman ang back four. Valdes can't crack the international lineup with Iker and Pepe there but he is more than a capable GK.

Pero, ibang klase ang depth ng Real this year. I hate Ronnie's antics but when he was in England you could really see the defense collapse on him whenever he has the ball kaya parati libre si Rooney/Berbatov/Tevez. Plus, Ronnie can really set you up for a goal. Kay Kaka di ako masyado bilib pero he was a World Footballer of the Year winner and that has to count for something. Tapos anjan pa si Xabi Alonso. Diarra for defense. Benzema is a true striker: dangerous and always in position for the kill. Iker has been the world's best keeper for sometime now. Mahina depensa dati ---scratch that--- walang depensa dati ang Real pero I figure Albiol will really help. Arbeloa is no slouch, too.

Head-to-head tingin ko Barca, with the better defense (sana lang wala masyado injuries), will win. Pero, iba ang dynamics ng liga title eh. Hindi head-to-head. Crucial dito how Real and Barca perform against Atletico, Valencia and the other solid squads kasi I pretty much expect the minnows to be blown out of the stadium in a goalfest by the two Spanish giants.

Giving Barca the slight edge pero not yet convinced 100 percent.

    European Supercup

A late, late goal by Pedro was the difference between FC Barcelona and Shakhtar Donetsk. Barca have now won the 2nd of a possible six trophies this year.

I thought that goal would never come.

right now madrid's main problem has to be its defense.. especially after its opening win in la liga, letting in 2 goals against depor. also, kaka and ronaldo are trying to do too much. so the question is whether madrid can find that chemistry. you're right, madrid can just stroll over the minnows, especially since very few teams in La Liga park the bus.. but against more potent teams in Spain and Europe? I dunno. Right now the jury is still out on them.

For me, Barca's bench is a bit shallow. 1 long-term injury to Messi, Xavi or Iniesta can derail our Liga/CL aspirations... and we also have to withstand the absence of Keita and Yaya during the African Cup of Nations. on top of that, we let Gudjohnsen go to Monaco, leaving our midfield with few options after that starters. I daresay that we can cope without Messi for a few games because of the improved play of Pedro and Bojan. Ibra is still a big question mark. so far, he seems to be playing at a pedestrian pace. hopefully Pep can ignite Ibra's desire and get him to hustle.

I don't think Liga is a two-horse race right now. I think Valencia can squeak between the two after hanging on to Villa, Silva and Mata.
