A helpful tip may be to really look around as many shoe stores possible. Personally, I don't search by brand. While it's true some cheap brands may have nice finds, it's usually just once in a while. The opposite is also true. Expensive brands do not necessarily put out a lot of good styles. So there’s really no one way about it.
Traffic used to be a very GOOD store, when it carried imported brands like Robert Wayne and even some Italian brands like Trussardi (I’m not sure if I remember right, or was it Cerruti). Now, all their shoes are made in China under that Frank brand.
I really have nothing against affordable shoes but this is just a personal observation. Cheap or China-made shoes usually have plastic heels, which go clickity-clack on the floor. For me, it’s too scandalous and indiscreet. Sometimes, it sounds like it’s a woman in heels. So I stopped buying those kinds of shoes with plastic heels.
kenneth cole. power plant mall. my fave shoe store. gucci, ferragamo and kenneth cole for me. prada is weird, pero minsan may winner. cole haan is ok, pero for something so classic, it's kinda really expensive. their nike airsoles are top notch though. lacoste LEATHER SOLE shoes are winners. you can find them in shangrila, they're around 8-14K a pair.
pag local, tyler. absolutely perfect. nice design, VERY sturdy. no local brand comes close to value for money when it comes to shoes.
shempre merong local na mas maganda, pero mas mahal.
traffic is crap. if you buy there, make sure that the only brand you buy is puma.(sorry sa mga bumibili dun-) they're too expensive for the quality they provide. 3 months tops ang lifespan ng shoes nila sa akin because i walk 80% of the time. and i rotate my shoes and don't wear the same pair for at least 10 working days!
try ferragamo, and LV...
or if you're budget-constrained, look for Zara..
lol^^
ang sama...
lol...
ferragamo and LV is way too fashionable for a third world like us
I would opt for Tod's and Cole Haan before I go to an octave higher.
Plus there are good local brands to look at.
um... not really. if you've got money to spend and burn, and you feel good buying it, i don't think there's anything wrong with it. ferragamo can be bought on sale for 50%! i don't have any LV shoes :P
tod's have awesome driving shoes!!!! plus their patented dimpled sole makes the soles last longer.
Try Pedro. Not sure if their stores at MOA and Trinoma are open already.
I always get a pair or two everytime I go to Singapore.
found Pedro quite expensive at P5,000 a pair...althought the designs are unique. Wouldn't buy them unless I can't find a better one.
As for Gucci & Ferragamo, I find them common and overpriced. There are a lot of good quality shoes that won't cost you an arm and a leg. Unfortunately, they're not available here. Examples are:
Salamander of Germany, Lloyd's, Timberland (city range), Patrick Cox, Mezlan, Fratelli Rosetti
But if I have the money to burn, I would be wearing these instead of mainstream brands:
John Lobb
Berluti
Church's
Alden
JM Weston
Allen Edmonds
Moreschi
The list goes on...
pedro has nice designs, but i must admit, i don't have one and as such, can't compare it with shoes of the same price range (zara)
to be honest, you don't wear gucci and ferragamo for their "good quality". i mean, good quality is very important. e.g. bass. good style is very important. good style is rare but equally important. e.g. kenneth cole. but you really buy gucci, ferragamo, prada and other 20K shoes for the economic statement and status symbol.
i wear my guccis to the jobsite (construction jobsite) stepping on sand and gravel everyday NOT because i want to "show off"- (it's practically stupid. you're subjecting it to 80% more wear and tear even if i use it thrice a month at most.) BUT because it's me and because i can.
most laymen won't know the difference between a gucci and a local brand unless you show the sole - which shows the unmistakably shiny metal logo. ferragamo doesn't even have anything aside from the etching-
if you're on a budget, there are at least a dozen shoe brands where you can buy quality leather shoes for under 8K.
Bass make excellent shoes. The second shoes shown above looks like a pimp/ghetto shoes. Sorry not for me. I always buy burgundy color shoes, classier than black although I have 1 pair of black shoes.
I fully agree that Guccis and Ferragamos are worn more for the status symbol than anything else...
that's why I don't wear themi don't believe in it.
Instead, I wear Cole Haan, Bally, Salamander, Cesare Pacciotti, Timberland...mostly I got them abroad at very low prices...
my tip is to seize the opportunity to get shoes especially when they're on 50% sale or more. pag mga 15 to 25% lang, hindi ko pinapatulan.![]()
mga mahal po ba ang mga brand name na pinaguusapan nyu hehe...yung pang middle class *** sana hehe...maganda nga yung shoes ng zara na nakapost..sobra laki ng discount nun ah..
Salvatore Ferragamos, comfy and sooooo fantabulous.
The last two years, I've ditched the slip ons and opt for lace ups, much more sophisticated.
ano ba talaga ang uso ngayon sa men's shoes?
