EXCLUSIVE 'Victoria and the rest of the girls have still not forgotten she walked out, losing them money'

THE SPICE Girls reunion has been rocked by a blazing bust - up between Victoria Beckham and Geri Halliwell, The People can reveal.

The feisty pair have hardly spoken since clashing at a critical meeting to finalise plans for the £20million comeback tour more than three weeks ago.

A source said: "Geri and Victoria are not the best of friends at all and never will be.

"Emma Bunton is the only one of the five who has genuinely managed to stay on friendly terms with all of the other girls."

On Thursday Emma, Geri, Posh, Mel B and Mel C were warm smiles as millions watched them announce the tour, a greatest hits album and TV documentary.

But today we can reveal how icy relations really are behind the scenes:


GINGER Spice Geri is fuming that she will earn LESS than the others from the deal - because she quit three years before the band's eventual split in 2001.


SHE and Posh have had huge 'artistic differences' about the Spice Girls' style.


MEL C has also rowed with the others - insisting reforming would be bad for her health.


THE girls travelled to the O2 Dome in Greenwich, South East London, for their press conference in FIVE separate cars in a bid to stop tensions spilling over.


An onlooker said: "It was an astonishing sight. They were in these huge black cars travelling in convoy.


"Posh was in a Bentley, while the rest opted for Range Rovers.


"It was a head-turning procession. But the most striking thing about it was that the girls were not driven in the same car.


"It gave no sense of unity, and made you think. 'Are they that desperate to spend as little time as possible together that they prefer to spend the journey on their own?'"


Posh and Geri's mega-spat came during a secret meeting at London's swanky Blakes restaurant in June.


They were there to discuss the reunion plans with pregnant Emma Bunton, 31, Nicki Chapman - Simon Cowell's former sidekick on TV's PopStars and the brains behind the reunion - and manager Simon Fuller.


Our source said: "Geri shocked Victoria by coming with a whole 'to do' list that she insisted must be stuck to, and went on and on about HER own ideas.


"Victoria reminded Geri that it was her that nearly ruined the Spice's World Tour in 1998 when she quit all those years ago, but Geri just laughed.


"Then she angered Victoria by saying her Beckham and Posh Spice images were too different to each other - and would confuse the public."


But then the barney escalated


The insider said: "Geri started to taunt Posh by urging her to 'Come down off your pedestal if it is going towork'. She said she really loves the Spice Girl thing and wants to make it happen, then accused Posh of wanting to relaunch herself to the world with no thought of the others.


"Posh apparently retorted, 'At least I did not disappear up my own a**e'.


"Next Geri said she hates the songs the girls wrote after she left, and insisted they go back to the old Spice Girl formula and brash style, but Posh said, 'No way'."


The source claimed Geri, 34, had struggled to come to terms with the fact that mum-of-three Victoria had scored more success since they the Spice Girls.


Our mole explained: "In the old days Victoria was the quietest in the band and did as she was told by the other girls.


"But now she is more confident and has the highest celebrity profile out of the five of them - so she is sticking up for herself a lot more.


"She has done such a great job of managing her own career and profile that she now wants to do the same for the Spice Girls.


"But Geri is having none of it. She has never been afraid of voicing her opinions - her and Melanie B were the loudest of the girls - so she is now finding it hard to take orders from Victoria."


"Posh doesn't want to be prancing and leaping around the stage as they did in the old days.


"It doesn't really fit with her image. She thinks that now they are older and three of them are mothers, they should keep things classy to reflect that. But Geri thinks they should make it raw and kitsch. She's up for leaping around the stage and filling the tour with energy similar to the first time round.


"Both girls were unwilling to compromise and it got really heated."


The row was still rumbling on Thursday - with Victoria, 33, miffed mum-of-one Geri insisted on taking centre stage.


When asked if the band argued, Posh replied: "Even if we have differences, we are professional women", then added: "Yes, we do argue." Nodding Geri chimed in: "Yeah we really do!"


Later, as Ginger was talking, Victoria sniped: "She is just appreciative that we let her back in the band."


One onlooker said: "It was said in a jokey fashion, but it was clear she meant it." And our source said: "Just like Victoria the rest of the girls have not forgotten it was Geri who walked out, costing them a lot of money."


But it has emerged the once-buxom singer is now paying the price for fleeing the band.


Two weeks ago we told how new song Woman is lined up as the girls' first single later this year.


However, it was written after Geri quit - meaning she is only set to pocket ten per cent of the earnings. The other four will trouser 15 per cent.


One insider said: "Geri is furious she will not get the same earnings from it. The other four girls expect to get around £4million from the whole deal, Geri can expect around £1million less than that.


"But she views herself as crucial to the band's success, and as such thinks all the pay should be the same."


Mum-of-two Mel B has offered to give Geri some of her lines when they perform songs from the Spice's last album-which was done without her.


However, it was Mel C who was least keen on committing to the 11-date world tour in December. Pundits claimed that was because she had scratched out a reasonably successful solo career.


But there was apparently another reason. And in an astonishing showdown with the other four last month she effectively blocked plans for a full reunion by refusing to join them.


The insider revealed: "Mel C was saying she had taken expert advice on whether to go back to her old life as a Spice Girl and had been told it would be bad for her health.


"She mentioned the depression and eating disorders she has suffered in the past. In the end she was coaxed into it and reluctantly agreed to sign up."


The girls' bickering was legendary first time around. Even their then spokesman admitted: "They are a feisty bunch, they argue and someone flounces off - that's the way they are."


But last night an aide for them now insisted: "The girls are getting on brilliantly and are agreed on the plans. They are very excited, and really looking forward to the future."

Official confirmation of Spice/Solo US sales

Spice Girls released three albums in the U.S.: "Spice," "Spiceworld" and "Forever." "Spice" has sold 7.4 million in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan, while "Spiceworld" and "Forever" have moved 4.1 million and 207,000, respectively. ("Forever" was released in 2000, after Halliwell had left the group and Spice mania had already faded.)

In the U.S., the group charted seven top 20 singles on The Billboard Hot 100, while over in the U.K., they've hit No. 1 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart a whopping nine times.

Halliwell's debut album, 1999's "Schizophonic," has moved 181,000 in the U.S. None of her later releases were issued in America.

Melanie C's "Northern Star" debut, which spawned the dance hit "I Turn To You," has sold 95,000 in the U.S. Her later albums didn't see a U.S. release.

Emma Bunton's "Free Me" album, released in 2005, has shifted 17,000 in America. Again, no other Bunton sets have bowed in America.

Melanie B. and Victoria Beckham did not release any solo albums in the U.S.

All five of the Spice Girls had success as solo acts outside America. Adding up all of their solo hits, they've earned over 20 solo top 10 singles in the U.K.,¬ eight of which were No. 1s.

Kinda OT, now I know how the other 4 spice girls felt when geri left the band. kaya nga may joke si Viki last time sa presscon nila na may isang nagsabi na that person really wanted to be a spice girls, Viki replied " If Geri leave us again you could join us" .

Nakakabadtrip pala talaga. Because I'm a member of a band (I play keyboard) and there are 5 of us. Suddenly our vocalist left us. We know the reason why. Evrytime na may practice laging may absent , most of the time that's me bcoz im so busy. *** lang ang walang absent. sya ang tumatayong leader. We also know n *** ang may pnkamalaking contribution sa group. He wrote a lot of songs and sobrang ganda ng melody and lyrics.

But still, leaving us made me feel Im stupid. Parang d na nya naisip *** pagkakaibigan nmin. I kept my mouth shut for a few days. akala q kc ** *** ang nabad trip sa pag alis nya. I think we've lost our respect for him. kahit sobrang daming magandang pinagsamahan. Im not talking about months here but years.

E un *** time na kelangan na kelangan namin ang leadership & experience nya. Ang nangyari tuloy, *** junior namin at ako ang napilitan mag-co-captain, e minsanan lang kami nung junior nakasabak sa championship. Iniwanan nya kaming nangangapa. Hirap kaming mag-adjust in time para sa season. Napakasakit ng ginawa nya nun, lalo na nung natalo kami nung finals. Alam kong matagal na un (1995 pa), pero kahit na sabihin nating bati-bati na kami ngayon (Friendsters nga kaming lahat ng dati kong teammates), may TENSION pa rin tuwing naaalala namin *** ginawa nya. Sabihin na nating "masama" mag-keep ng grudges, pero ang mga ganyan di agad nalilimutan. Kaya naiintindihan kita (and in a way sina VB). NATURAL lang ito.

great news! looksl ike an immediate number one for the girls!!!

The Spice Girls will perform one of their 2 new songs on CiN, and may well release the official CiN single this year. The BBC also announced the 90 minute documentary will be on BBC1 later this Winter.

Exciting news! This could be great as it may well be a #1 single guaranteed. We get a new song performed live on TV too. I guess this proves we won't get more than 2 new songs on the GHs then. I am also happy the documentary will be on BBC because it's a better quality station than ITV1 and no commercial breaks.
