as for the "other" starcraft game

It's is dead!
That game is no more! It has ceased to be! it's maker has pulled the plug! Bereft of codes!
If you hadn't mentioned it, it would've been completely forgotten as it should be! It's developing cycles are now history! it's off the list! It has kicked the bucket, shuffled off it's protagonish, nova, run down the curtain and joined the bleeding choir known as the VAPORWARES!!
THAT IS AN EX-GAME!!

FAQ

When is the game coming out?

At this point, it's too early to provide an initial estimate on the release date. As with all Blizzard games, we will take as much time as needed to ensure the game is as fun, balanced, and polished as possible.

Will there be a console version of StarCraft II?

StarCraft II is being developed for the PC. We have no current plans to bring the game to any console platform.

When they released Xbox, PS3 and Wii. But to me, PC gaming will never die as long as CnC, Starcraft and Diablo is there

there are still other games like some of the FPS like half-life 2

nope... there will be a new DOTA once SC2 comes out.. i mean...
it's obvious that starcraft is going to have heroes. and since warcraft3's popularity and lifespan rose because of the world editor, i am sure that you'll be able to do the same mods on SC2 just like in war3... so a SC2 version of DOTA isn't farfetched...

meh zerglings are nice, esepcally when there's a horde of it coming your way and you have like... bucha' SCV and only a handful of marines...? (then again.. ph33r thy SCV rush!)

and if there's a ghost named "nova" there, we're so sure that SC:Ghost is dead

Terran

* Reaper: A unit much like the Marines, but carrying dual machine pistols. It has a jump jet allowing it to hop down or up a tier, making it effective for exploiting weak spots in an elevated base.

Protoss

* Colossus: A large quad-legged vehicle that fires strong dual lasers. This unit can also traverse differences in terrain height.
* Immortal: A unit that replaces the Dragoon. It has strong defense against powerful attacks, but it is vulnerable to weaker attacks that do not activate their shields.
* Mothership: A powerful hovering unit that consumes an extreme amount of resources to produce. It is able to attack multiple units at time, and has three unique abilities, which are the Time Bomb, Planet Cracker, and Black Hole. The Time Bomb ability slows all enemy missile attacks. The Planet Cracker ability is a large laser that fires from the bottom of the Mothership, obliterating anything in its field. The Black Hole ability creates a void that absorbs and destroys enemy aircrafts. Only one Mothership can be active at a time. It also has the power to attack multiple units at one time.
* Phase Prism: A dual-purpose unit that is able to transport units or act as a mobile pylon.
* Phoenix: An aircraft that can overcharge guns for multiple projectile blasts. However, after the initial blast the ship is rendered inert for a short period of time.
* Stalker: A Dragoon-inspired unit built by the Dark Templars. It is capable of ranged attacks and teleporting quickly over short distances to avoid terrain and chase retreating enemies.
* Warp Ray: An aircraft that attacks with a blue laser, dealing more damage as it focuses on the same target. It is powerful against tough units and buildings, but wastes damage on small units and can be quickly overcome.

Zerg

* Nydus Worm: A transport unit that transports small units such as zerglings from underground.
* Baneling: A mutated Zergling filled with explosive and acidic chemicals that can roll across terrain and explode on impact.
* Succubus: A unit that has an "Infect" ability, which allows takeover of hostile organics for a limited amount of time, ending in the target unit exploding and damaging units around it.
