since as the title suggests, i can ask anything about laptops here. i'm quite unsure where to post my question kasi.
anyway, where can i find a laptop sleeve? how much would it cost me if i'm to find one that would fit my 14.1" laptop (acer)?
Lenovo/IBM T43
The T Series is Lenovo/IBM's most reliable, jack-of-all-trades ThinkPad. Reason why it's the most deployed machine to IBM's global workforce.
druslydie, you can try sm mall of asia if you're looking for laptop sleeves/casings/bags. dami stalls dun..
Dell XPS 1210
+ everything's great except for:
- poor screen viewing angles
- Windows intermittently hangs after resuming from hibernate or standby (still unsure of the cause of this problem)
Bought from CoolToyzPH.
Does anyone know if Toshiba branded laptops are available for sale here in Metro Manila?
Laptop: eMachines M6809, AMD 64 Mobile Athlon, ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 (upgraded memory to 2GB, hard drive to 60GB 7200RPM, AS5)
Manufacturer: eMachines/Arima
Retailer: Best Buy
Cost: around $1200 (more than 3 years ago)
Performance: is superb. Only problem for this series is the crack hinge. eMachines replaced the hinge as part of warranty.
i have Toshiba U205-S5057, i've upgraded it to 2gb ram
MacBook
2.0GHz, 1GB RAM, 80GB Hard Drive
Apple- Power Mac Greenbelt
70k
I love everything about it except for the yahoo messenger. -no archives!
Fujitsu S6240
Don't know the manufacturer. Siguro Fujitsu din?
Malaysia
P55k converted price ng credit card
Medyo nabagalan ako sa simula kasi galing ako sa desktop so, dinagdagan ko ng RAM. Okay na siya ngayon and light enough to carry around.
For sleeves, try Digital Walker (Park Square/Virramall) or ikot ka sa Virramall 3rd floor

what's a good laptop screen protector?
Just got a laptop about 2 weeks ago.
It was a close call between the Lenovo T60p - but I decided on the Asus G1S-A1 because of the better video card.
Manufactured by AsusTek, as far as I know - since aside from MSI, they are the only name brand laptop sellers I know that make their own laptops.
Purchase price was about CAD ~ $2200 after taxes. Purchased from NCIX.com
Very happy with it so far. Great specs/performance for the price. I wanted something that could last at least 2 years and I know this will pretty much keep up with technology.
Why I bought it:
+Amazing spec/performance vs price. (Core 2 Duo T7500, 2GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT, 160GB HD) ; Although not a lot of laptops right now have Santa Rosa + 8600GT - but I think the price was really fair.
+Great battery life considering specs.
+Free backback and mouse. (The mouse is a rebranded Logitech MX518 which is a really good one.)
+eSata, DVI ports ; expresscard ; wireless a/b/g/draft n.
+Excellent touchpad. Keyboard is quiet and well built. (Although small)
+Excellent WSXGA+ screen. (Is a glossy though, not matte) And it has very slight light leakage at the bottom - but will not be noticeable by most people. I do some serious photo editing and it doesn't even bother me.
Things I don't like:
--My biggest complaint are the speakers, as they are really tinny and weak. Everything else really is just neat-picking:
--Slightly larger than most 15.4's but still portable. I'd rather they took out the webcam and installed the speakers at the bottom to save an extra inch.
--Cramped keyboard but this is due to the really comfy palm rest. I would've preferred a larger keyboard and smaller palm rests instead.
--Top looks really good and shiny BUT is a magnet for fingerprints.
--Is marketed as a gaming laptop so it has some annoying design issues like highlighted WASD keys and blinking lights at the side which can thankfully be turned off.
--USB ports are all at the back which is a bit annoying. Would've like one or two at the side.
--Bloatware. But really, nowhere near as bad as others. The only time you get zero bloatware is when buying a laptop from boutiques like FalconNW or maingear.
Overall, I'm really happy with it. Considering after all my research, this and the Lenovo T60p were the only ones that felt right to me and were within my budget.

I'm curious what laptop coolers everyone is using? Medyo mahirap pala maghanap ng maganda. And most retail stores seem to just carry crappy Targus Coolers which don't help at all, if anything, they make your laptop hotter.
I use the Thermaltake Ixsoft when I'm mobile and it stays in my bag all the time. It's just a mat with some chemicals which re-distributes the heat.
And I use the Vantec Lapcool 4 when plugged in. While it's fairly silent, it doesn't cool that well - depending on the hotspots of you notebook - since the fans are at the middle.
I've been considering the Zalman Cooler instead - since it seems to be the best out there right now.
i'm just wondering, ganito din ba yung mga laptop na iba?
pag kinlose ko yung lid ng laptop during the shutdown process, naghahalt yung shut down, at kailangan ko pang buksan yung lid para ipress yung power button para macontinue niya yung shut down process. should i wait for the black screen before i can really close the lid or may prob tong laptop ko? kasi kung hibernation naman, okay lang kung isasara ko yung lid. pero pag shutdown, hindi talaga.
haha. sorry, noob laptop user pa lang po.![]()
^Baka naa-outprioritize nung Standby mode (triggered by closing the laptop) yung Shutdown process ng Windows? I'm just guessing. So instead of continuing with the Shutdown, nags-standby na lang instead yung Windows.
Astig yang Zalman cooler na yan ah! (http://www.zalman.co.kr/eng/product/...x=224&code=030)
Do you know a shop here in Metro Manila that have that item for sale?
sulit po ba yung mga macbook-pro packages sa laptopking.com.ph?
^Overpriced ata dun eh. Kung bibili ka na rin lang ng Mac, sa official Apple store na. (meron sa Megamall)
