SANGA-SANGANDILA Ni Veronica R. Samio
Tuesday, November 27, 2007

Alas-dos nung Sunday naman, sa Halinas Garden sa Antipolo nag second to the last shooting day.
Lahat daw ng artista, very cooperative and very professional kasi na inspire sila sa napakagandang feedback na na-receive ng trailer when it was shown in the press con for the first time. If plans push through, ang last shooting day will be tomorrow, November 28.
Sabi nga namin, kung principal photography of the movie lang ang paguusapan, aabot ito sa deadline.

‘Bahay Kubo (A Pinoy Mano Po)’
Regal Entertainment salutes the members of the family with another delightful and timely dramedy – "Bahay Kubo (A Pinoy Mano Po)" which stars no less than Diamond Star Maricel Soriano, Eric Quizon, Marian Rivera, Shaina Magdayao, Mark Herras, Yasmien Kurdi, Rayver Cruz, Eugene Domingo, Bearwin Meily, Jiro Manio, Isabella de Leon, Rita Iringan, and Ms. Gloria Romero.
The screenplay is by the talented comedy-writing tandem of Suzette Doctolero and RJ Nuevas, and directed by award–winning Joel Lamangan. "Bahay Kubo (A Pinoy Mano Po)" is an entry to the 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival.
Regal has always produced movies for the family, especially for the MMFF. Recently, there were the iconic and unforgettable "Mano Po" series. The family holds a special place in the hearts of those of Regal. After all, the still strong 44-year-old company was built with profits from the release of "All Mine to Give," a heartwarming story of a mother who relinquished her children to give them better lives.
"Bahay Kubo’ is dedicated to the family," says executive producer Mother Lily Monteverde. The central character Eden (played by Maricel Soriano) is blessed with plenty of adopted children and one biological child. Just when she has cared for the children deeply and grown close to them, circumstances force the family to break up. The kids leave one by one and the once happy and full bahay kubo becomes lonely and empty.
Everyone working on the movie was so touched by the story that halfway through principal photography, the stuff, crew and stars were teary–eyed, while a number were even crying. The stars found it easy to relate to their characters because they remembered their own family members.
Mother Lily describes her latest project as "full of heart, full of emotion." She discloses further, "We hope that it will entertain and touch hearts, and also make families closer and more appreciative of each other."
As much as viewers will cry tears of longing, they will also cry tears of joy, thanks to the laughs provided by Bearwin, Eugene and the inimitable Ms. Gloria. Eugene plays Eden’s best friend Marang, a wannabe actress. Eugene is so effective in her sequences; she is a perfect partner to the Diamond Star. Maricel is definitely of Best Actress caliber as she showcases her perfect comic timing and fine dramatic skills, thus making "Bahay Kubo" all the more a must-see for the whole family!
"Bahay Kubo" is warmly supported by Alaska Powdered Filled Milk, Green Cross Inc., and Cinema One.
