I've been an employee for almost 6 months (I'm about to be regularized) and I can attest that IBM Daksh is a very good company. The company takes care of its employees and provides very good compensation. The HR department (including recruitment) is very efficient, and you'll get hired easily if you're really qualified for the job.

Question though, for the Voice and Accent Trainer position, should my friend (who'd like to apply) drop by Edsa Pavilion or just submit the resume to HR?

Inquiry ^^

I would just like to ask if there is really a policy in your company that you are not to inform the applicant the reasons why he/she didn't pass your qualifications. Your immediate response would greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you for your kind words, Grinchblood! We hope more happy employees tell other PEXers about IBM Daksh.

Re your question on the Voice & Accent Trainer referral, please submit your friend's resume to the iPal email.

Your friend doesn't need to go to Edsa Pavilion because Support and Leadership applications are processed in PBCom, and their interviews need to be pre-scheduled.

I hope I answered your question. You may send an email to iPal if you have more referral questions.

Hi DarthScully, xhris is currently on vacation and will be back on May 2. He might not be able to reply to your PM until then, but I will leave him your message.

If it's something you think I can help you with, you may also send me a PM.

Hi mdnarcissist, would just like to clarify that we do not have such policy. As a matter of fact, we not only request all our recruiters to inform the applicant of the reason(s) for failing, but also, if time permits, to give the applicant tips on how to improve his/her skills.

Due to lack of time and volume of applicants, however, we sometimes fail to discuss the reasons for failing, but please do not hesitate to ask your recruiter what they think you need to improve on and how you can succeed next time you apply.

Our recruiters should be happy to give you some advice. We don't want to be mere processors, but to also be your consultants and help you succeed with any career path that's most suitable to your skills and background.

Should you have other questions about your results, you may send me a PM and I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for your interest in IBM Daksh.

Just want to share a not-so-good experience I had with the recruitment process of your company last October. I went to the recruitment center in Edsa Central at 10am...logged-in and submitted my resume. I waited for 2 hours..then at around 12..we were asked to return at 1pm and take our lunch. Ok...so I returned at 1pm. Then they finally called my name..but horror of horrors! I got a slip saying that I did not pass the test..WTF? I asked the lady why I got the slip when I didn't do anything yet in the first place. Good thing she apologized and clarified it with the other recruitment staff. Eventually I was called for the speech test (which I passed). I passed the computer/written test and the final interview as well..and I got a job offer on the same day. I didn't accept the offer because the account was in Edsa Square..I wanted to work in Makati, so I declined. Anyway I know this is an isolated case but I do hope this doesn't happen anymore. I would like to apply in your company again though because my gay sisters say they enjoy their stay there and you don't discriminate against gays. I hope there'll be airline accounts as well in PBCom.

I've been an Assistant Manager with IBM Daksh for the past 8 months for the e-commerce vertical and I can say that it is fun working here!

and the hiring process was a breeze.

Hi vaklita, thank you for your sharing with us your experience. We understand what you must have felt that day, and we are sorry that you had to go through that. We'd like to assure you, though, that it is not a regular occurence and that we try our best to give our applicants a good applicant experience.

Also, we have improved our recruitment process since October 2006 by adding additional people and doing our best to cut our applicants' waiting period. We also guarantee one day processing of applications for those who come in before 2pm, as was your case when you were given a job offer within the day.

I am happy to know that you are still interested in working at IBM Daksh. Your gay sisters are right in that IBM Daksh promotes workforce diversity and everyone is treated equally. In fact, we have a very active GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender) Community which promotes a safe and open working environment for all employees, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

We really want to move beyond simply "not discriminating" and toward a truly inclusive workplace in which all employees are valued, embraced, and respected as individuals.

Lastly, you should reconsider working in Edsa Central! You will find that it is more accessible, it's right beside the mall so it's easy to do your grocery before or after work, there's more restos to choose from and it's ideal to meet friends because Shangrila/Megamall/Metrowalk is just a couple of block s away. I was working in Makati for a long time and I also thought that I wouldn't like working here, but I ended up liking it more!

Hope to see you here soon!

hmmm well, that's weird because a friend of mine had asked the recruiter for the reason why he didn't qualify but he was informed that such information is confidential.

well, I do hope that all of your recruiters are following that part of the procedure because it's quite important that we, HR people, not only give opportunities to applicants, but also help them improve and develop their potentials so that we could hire them.

thanks very much.

Hi mdnarcissist, we share in your belief that recruiters should, above all, have the goal of improving their applicant's chances of getting a good job that fits him well. Please send me a PM of the recruiter's name so that we can remind him/her of this policy. Thank you.

Do you accept applicants who are taking graduate studies? I'm actually done with my classes..I'm now doing my thesis. Will this be a hindrance?

Hi Carlos, thanks for your interest in IBM Daksh. We welcome applicants who are currently taking graduate studies.

IBM Daksh believes in honing your knowledge and skills through experience and further studies and we have several employees who are also taking up their masters while currently employed. We also offer the opportunity to participate in a prestigious mini-MBA scholarship program to our qualified Top Talent.

We remind our employees to manage their time well so that they can complete their graduate school requirements while working with us full time. They would still have to follow the regular work schedule that is assigned to them.

Good luck with your thesis!

Hi E£ë¢t®øñí¢ DEâd, we have a batch starting soon for email/chat support and I encourage you to come to our office this week so you can join this batch.

Though we are not at liberty to discuss compensation and benefits through this venue, we can tell you that IBM Daksh offers a very competitive package which is definitely at par with industry standards.

You can explore this further during your Final Interview.

Visit us at 3/F Edsa Central Pavilion, Edsa corner Shaw, Mandaluyong. If you're taking the MRT, the building is connected to the MRT Shaw Station so it's very accessible. We are processing applicants from Monday to Saturday, including May 1 holiday.

Hi!

I applied for a CSR/CSA position last 27 March 2007, and was able to reach the final interview. After that interview, I was told to wait for a call from them should I get accepted. Unfortunately, I never got that call. I really want to work at IBM Daksh, specially under the travel account. Could I call the recruitment office to verify if I passed or failed? (I'm really being optimistic, am I? Maybe they lost my application form? hehe ) Thanks.
