Financial Advisory Firms

What are the firms that offer Financial Advisory Services? Aside from "some" investment houses, are there small independent firms that offer financial advisory?

Is it also true that Accounting firms like Pricewaterhouse Coopers offer financial advisory services?

Pacific Northstar at the RCBC towers. They advised Prudential Bank when it was sold to BPI.

Some accounting firms offer financial advisory services like M&A and restructuring, but not all. You'll have to take it on a case-by-case basis.

^aside from financial advisory, what kind of financial services do they offer? do they have investment banking?

and a friend who is a CPA at Isla Lipana advised me to submit a financial advisory application at Pricewaterhousecoopers, now that they are considering hiring non-CPAs for the job. what do you think?

Pacific Northstar (PNI) is not an investment house. It's just the advisory business that overlaps with the i-houses. PNI doesn't do IPOs or other underwriting activities. They have a venture capital arm that invests in early-stage companies.

Ask your friend what kind of projects their advisory arm does. In the US, PWC does corporate finance advisory (M&A, project finance, etc., see link below). I'm not sure about the Philippines. If they do in their Manila office, maybe you can ask your friend to help you get in.

can you elaborate the financial advisory services of Pacific Northstar? Do they have structured finance, or simply M&A and Project Finance similar to Pricewaterhousecoopers?

also, if I were to submit a resume to Pacific Northstar, what should be my career/resume objective? should i just put "seeking a financial advisory position"?

as for the advisory arm of pricewaterhouse coopers, i'll ask my friend. i hope they also have structured finance.

I don't think PNI does structured finance. I think their advisory is mainly corporate finance like restructuring / rehabilitation and M&A. I'm also not sure how many companies in the Philippines have structured finance services like AIB.

As for what to put in your resume, you can be a little more specific by saying "Seeking a position in corporate finance advisory services, including mergers and acquisitions, project finance or restructuring."
