Questions about Zamboanga. HELP!

Gusto ko lang magtanong kung may mga mala-transient houses or pensione houses ba sa Zamboanga? Gusto ko kasing maka-tipid. Kasi pag mas nakatipid ako mas marami akong mapupuntahan.

Hindi naman ako maarte dahil tutulugan ko lang yun. Pero wag naman yun tipong iipisin ako habang natutulog. biro lang.
Magkano kaya per head yun? Baka magisa lang akong pupunta dun. Kelangan ko talagang makamura.

Alam ko mura lang ang mga hotel sa zambo kasi di naman mga 5 star yung karamihan, try to inquire sa Perlita Hotel or Hermosa hotel. For pension houses try to look for Pardise Pension House or Ann-Ann Pension house(not sure of the name) this is along Camins Ave malapit sa airport.

d naman delikado eh...actually kagagaling ko *** maligo sa Tanada Pool sa Pasonanca Park (8pesos jeep away from city proper), videokehan sa Brgay Canelar till 8pm, tas PAseo del Mar for dinner w. my officemates at konting drinking session... ngayon, bahay na'ko.. okay naman ako... buhay pa naman ako... hehe


may plano po ba kayong pumunta dito? ano ba ang mga interests niyo? para ma-suggest ko kayo...

^^Sta Cruz island...you gotta go to Lantaka Hotel as they are the only ones who can arrange for the speedboat (and security escort) for you to go to the island with the pink sand.

Honestly, parang exagg lang ang news. Ive been to Zamboanga like 8x in the last two years and I never felt any danger. In fact, zamboanga tops my list in terms of the best city in Mindanao=) I prefer its old charm kesa sa Davao, Gensan, Cotabato, Dipolog, Ozamiz, Pagadian, Butuan, CDO etc. Must try yung curacha sa me Hai San, tas yung to die for na dessert knickerbocker sa me palmeras, at yung pansit nila at callos sa Lantaka =). hehe i got so many good memories of ZAM =)

^^haha marlowe...am here (and based) in Manila but work requires me to go to ZAM often. I had my apprehensions during my 1st time but when I arrived there...nawala lahat. ZAM has the old charm of Manila kaya I always tell my relatives (who cringe by the mere mention of the place) that ZAM is a nice city.

Dati takot pa kami gabihin sa kalye but during the 2nd time, mga 10 PM na kami (after magkape sa 3rd Cup) umuuwi at naka-tricycle pa.

I remember gumimik pa kami dun sa malapit sa highway...where you gotta pay parang Php 200 consumable for 2 hours tapos merong mga rooms where every room has a billiard table tapos meron pa videoke...the place is actually very nice. Of course, a visit to ZAM is not complete without visitng the Canelar or Barter Market hehehe. dirtcheap imported chocolates and batik malong.

One trivia that I remember is that Zamboanga is typhoon free as most of the people I spoke with says that they cant even remember the last time they had a typhoon...and Im talking to a 60++ peepz from there.

But I remember merong sort of Bagsakan type of market dun sa dulo ng road na yun (and if you turn left, coming from the bar), yun na yung road that leads to the airport. and if my memory serves me right, it is located parallel to the road that leads to barter market...

napakaraming kong relatives sa zambo but wala naman ni isa sa kanina ang napahamak na so far. I'm gonna visit them july next year. pero sabi nila madaling mahalata sa itsura kung member ng ASG or MILF ang mga nakakasalubong nila pero di naman sila ginugulo kahit sundalo yung ibang relatives ko.

i know there are a lot more places to see in zamboanga, haven't finished with my research yet. hope you guys can recommend the best spots/food/activities!

^^Just go to Lantaka Hotel since Lantaka Tours and Travels,the one who organizes trips to sta cruz islands, is located there. Sila na ang magreregister sa DOT and they will also be the ones to contact security escort. kasama yun sa package.

For the vinta, wala ka na makikita na vinta unless its their feast which only happens once a year. From Lantaka Hotel, what you will see are ferries and boats that ply Zamboanga City-Basilan route.

SiOMs: try going to Zamboanga days before the feast because usually there's a contest of vinta racing along cawa-cawa but im not sure if there are doing it this year.
