pls answer my question...sobrang natatakot ako baka i'll have cancer na...kasi ganito yun...
i had a chest x-ray last january and then last july tapos nagpa-xray pa ko yesterday. lahat *** chest xray. galit na galit na sa kin yung parents ko kasi daw di ba sabi nila 2 x-rays lang ang pwede in a year or else magkakaron ka ng high risk (daw?) for cancer. is that true? i need your answers so badly...last night nga nde na ko nakatulog kakaisip lang if i'll have cancer or not..
help!!!!
Whoever told you that is silly. It's not true. Doctors often have inpatients who require daily xrays and those xrays didn't increase their risk of cancer.
this is just to reinforce what dr ira already said. i want to give specific examples. let's say you have a fracture of any bone in your body from an accident or a sports injury. the dr will order an initial x ray to evaluate the extent of the injury. after a closed reduction, casting or any orthophedic procedure another x ray will be taken for comparison. that's 2 xrays in a day!!!
a patient with pleural effusion (tubig sa baga), pneumothorax (hangin sa labas ng baga), pulmonary congestion (tubig sa baga dahil sa sakit sa puso) will have as many as 2 xrays per day!!
another example a person with pneumonia on initial xray will be given antibiotic treatment by the doctor. after a week another xray will be taken for follow up and re evaluation.
in cases where chest xray is just a routine one (pre employment, schooling, annual check up etc.) it is recommended that the interval should be every 6 months. any xray taken within 6 months should be acceptable for any of this purpose.
hello doctors & everyone... its my 1st time to post on this 2.5yr old thread... i just would like to ask for an interpretation of the biopsy result of my breast mass... it says:
Gross Description:
.......
Microscopic Description:
.......
Diagnosis:
MARKED SCLEROSING ADENOSIS, AREAS OF DUCTAL HYPERPLASIA WITH PAPILLOMATOSIS AND CELLULAR ATYPIA AND FIBROCYSTIC CHANGES, right breast tissues
just to give u a little backgrounder, i am 33 yrs old... i first detected the mass & went for a chk up march 2004... the surgeon said its most probably fibro adenoma in nature, a benign mass thus i didnt bother to have it excised... april 2005, i went for my 2nd chk up then i found out i already have 2 lumps both in my right breast... magkatabi lang & its right beside my nipple... thats when i decided to have it excised... natakot na ako at baka dumami pa... i was operatod on last friday & had the tissues brought to pathologist right after for biopsy... i got the biopsy result only today & i was supposed to give a copy to my surgeon but he's not available until next week so i decided to post the diagnosis here hoping that the doctors here can explain to me the diagnosis in layman's term...
another question... how long does it usually take for the operated area to heal??? how many days before i can clean (wet) the area with water??? i was operated friday, the thread was taken off after 5 days (yesterday) but was replaced by tiny cuts of 'masking' tape para daw hindi daw mag expand ang tahi... it can be taken off after 3 days or i can let it stay until na matatanggal na lang ng kusa... he also said that the operated area is not yet completely healed kaya di pa pwede basain...
hi doc. ira, my cousin had elicon injection on the breast 5yrs ago for 5x already and now shes worried coz dami daw ng lumps on her breast as in malaki daw n parang umbok umbok na bato. so kinausap nya un gumawa sa boobs nya n sabi wag daw sya mag pa- exam kce its natural *** daw. so ginagawa sa kanya tinuturukan un may mga buo para daw matunaw then mina-massage daw then parang nawawala daw kce parang na pinu-push *** thn aft. a week balik daw uli un mga buong lumps. sbi sa kanya not to worry daw kce its not cancerous daw. so *** do u think doc..by the way nag pa check na sya 1 time pero ng tinanong sya doc. kng nag paretoke sya sbi nya hindi. pero sbi **** dc. d **** daw bilog2 n nagalw kce nga un kanya matigas na flat as in kalat pero super tigas ,sbi un oil daw namuo. what can u say doc., any idea??
is it really safe pag pinatanggal ang lump through surgery? may kasabihan kc matatanda e, bawal dw operahin ang dibdib..im confused ***.
i got my lump removed last summer. i had a minor operation at conscious ako nun! my doc never suspected cancer cos im too young daw. im 17 lang kasi. turns out as fibroadenoma, a benign lump.
si_ako, I don't see why operating on your chest could be bad especially if you really need it. Alam mo naman mga matatanda, maraming pamahiin na hindi logical.
are small breasts denser than big breasts as they contain less fat?
so, does it mean that it will make a mammagram reading difficult to interpret?
is it more advisable to do a breast ultrasound than a mammography if one has small breasts?
which hospital provides the latest mammogram machine?
hi I'm kinda worried because lately I feel a slight pain in my breast though it's only slight. And I notice that there are slight bumps on the parts near the nipple. I mean bumps because its kinda small and its not only one, it's ther sometimes and sometimes not. Also I'm wondering if its normal to have an inverted nipple? And also about nipple discharges. Thank you very much for the feedback.
Added info by the way, I am 26 years old and rearding menstrual cycles, I'm irregular. I felt these symptoms not during my period. Another question, is feeling itchy on the nipple area common?
i'm 21 years old and several lumps were found on both breasts, although maliliit lang siya. i was told to undergo mammography and results said na walang makitang lumps or mass lesion because of its being dense. does this mean, wala talagang cysts? please advise, because my OB told me to just observe if may mafifeel akong lumps after my period by doing physical examination. hoping for your advise. thanks.
hi. is there anyone here knows the number of Dra. Diana Cua? pls reply. thanks
mga doks.... my friend just got the results of his mri.. and we just want to decipher what it means:
IMPRESSIONS:
1. Normal MR of the sacro-iliac joints.
2. Foci of T! and T2W hypointensities in the left acetabulum and right sacral wing represent osseous sclerosis likely of benign etiology.
3. Degenerative disc disease with a posterior annular tear, L4- L5 level.
4. Moderate disc bulge causing moderate neural foraminal stenosis with mild compression of the exiting nerve roots, L4-L5.
thanks in advance...![]()
is there any possibility of having a breast cancer bacause of bleeding of the breast through the nipple and feels like painful occasionally??? she's in early 50's. thanks in advance for the advice.
Hi. Yes, there is always the possibility. I think the best thing for her to do is seek medical advice and proceed from there.Originally Posted by majicminded

Hello everyone! Are there environmental factors and exposures that increase our risk for breast cancer? Less than 10% of breast cancers occur in women with a genetic predisposition. Did the remaining 90% get it from environmental exposure?
There is evidence that environmental factors cause breast cancer. Eight such factors are discussed in http://www.healthypinoy.com/articles...entbreast.html The complete report is in breastcancerfund.org
