    niacinamide for skin

Wow, this is fun! An actual doc (i suppose he/she is a real doc) answering all your queries.

I do have a question for you, doctor.

What's niacinamide? I read that at Olay Total Effect's label at the back? Is it good for the skin ie. on anti-aging, pimples, etc.? I don't read it much on the other prods. I mostly read retinol or vitamin e. and the like. Thank you!

hi po.. i just wanna ask what d'you think is this?

i thought it was just a pimple nung una ko syang nakita sa face ko kaya di ko pinansin.. pero it bothers me now. Last june lang sya nag start mag appear and hanggang ngayon po andito parin.

Wow! Pwede mag-post ng photos here? Anyway, my question for the doctor is which popular skin care promises (olay, pond's, l'oreal, garnier) effectivity against general skin problems like pimples, oiliness and black/whiteheads. Hindi naman kasi extreme ang case ko. I'm not a fan of derma and skin meds so I would like some products na accessible like available in the supermarket, etc.

yes, you can but dilute it and let it stay for 5-10 minutes. you can also try neutrogena tgel, effective sya.
btw, try to find your stressor kasi kaya ka sebbie eh dahil either kulang sa sleep, inaway ka ng gf or bf or others.
    good luck.

Hi! Yes you can. Shampoo your hair as usual and spread the lather on your face. You can also apply topical steroid after to get rid of the flakes and, redness and itchiness. Also, don't forget to apply sunblock to protect your skin.

Hi! It depends on what works for your skin. What may be a great product for your friend may not be suitable for you. You can look for products that have retinol, alpha hydroxy acids, salicylic acids, citric acid, mandelic acid as their ingredients as these help control oiliness and pimples.

Hi! Niacinamide is a form of Vitamin B3. Niacinamide has been used in skin care products, including moisturizers, anti-aging products, and rosacea treatments.

    ayoko ng maputing face!
Hi! Hindi kasi whitening ang effect talaga like kojic, mas magbibigay ng glow sa skin kasi may slight exfoliation.

The posts that have come at times were quite overwhelming for me to answer in one sitting. This does not include all the private messages that you have sent. In any case, thank you for your trust and support.

I would just like to inform people who have sent or wish to send inquiries to this thread that I try my best to answer them as best I could at the time that would allow me. I also have a real job and I do not get paid to do this. In the 88,898 views and 1,600 replies to this thread to date, maybe about ten people more or less have consulted (0.001% of views and 0.6% of replies), so I guess people here benefit more than I do. Most dermatologists would even think that this thread is not good for us because less people will eventually go for consultation, thus loss of income. I do however continue this thread because I feel people are better informed and become more knowledgeable.

This thread is aimed to merely guide people with skin problems to the right direction, and not serve as an online consultation. If I have not answered your post, that means that I still don't have the time to answer them but will do when the opportune time comes. I don't think a non-reply deserves a satirical "wondering aloud" post. I am however still committed to help you but do not wish to answer your inquiry myself for personal reasons. I shall try to refer you to a certified dermatologist.

If you are located in a remote area, and wish to be answered urgently, i suggest you go to the website of the Philippine Dermatological Society and you shall find a certified dermatologist nearest you. You can also call PDS at (+632) 727-7309. If you would like me to personally look for a dermatologist for you, send me your address or location through PM and I will try to do my best.

Again, I wish to relay that I am grateful that you have in one way or another given me the opportunity to share a little of my knowledge in the field of skin care. I am still here assist you in your quest for better skin health.

Thank you to Pinoy Exchange for this opportunity. More power to PEX!
