i have skin asthma and there are white spots in my face, they used to have a rough texture but since i put cortisteroid it has become smooth, but still the same color.. is there any way for the color of the skin in my face to even out?.. the white patches dont look good because i am dark skinned.. help!

hi po, ask ko lang po is about using birth control pills as acne control, i'm using gracial, mga 3-4 years na po akong gumagamit, and napansin kong hindi na nga me madaling magkapimple di tulad dati, parang mas naging less acre prone na skin ko. i'm afraid lang kasi pano po pag tumigil me sa pagtake ng gracial, para kasing may nabasa me na lalo raw magiging oily ang skin, ang yung pimples mas rarami compare dun sa di pa ko nagtatake, kaya natatakot me istop kasi baka tadtadrin naman me ng pimples, pero eventually, kailangan ko rin istop yun,( e.g. pag siyempre i decided to have a baby) ask ko lang po if totoo yung nabasa ko na mas dadami pimples at mas magigig oily skin ko after i stop taking the pills? i asked my o.b. dati tungkol dun, and sabi niya, hindi naman daw, kasi by that time daw, regulated na raw hormones ko, pero di talaga me mapakali, please, sana po masagot niyo tanong ko. please...

Acne is hormonally influenced aside from inherited. That is the reason why it is controlled by your intake of birth control pills. If naregulate na hormones mo, magiimprove ang pimples mo. But, it doesnt mean na you wont get acne again. You can still get pimples but not as much as before if you have maintenance medications.

Hi twirley!

Yes, white spots or postinflammatory hypopigmentation does occur after treatment. It can fade a little in time. You can apply moisturizer and sunblock so as not to make it dry and thus, less conspicuous.

Matagal na yan so mukhang mahirap mawala. Pero may mga paraan na ngayon para maimprove ang scars mo. Maganda siguro kung mapapdalhan mo ako ng picture ng mga scars mo para mas-appropriate ang mai-suggest sayo.

Dear doc,

I am recently undergoing acne treatment for more than 2 weeks now. Im on this sort of astringent and adapalene gel and with kojic soap. And ive noticed that some spots are just begging to pop out.

I was just wondering, is it OK for me to get a facial while under this treatment? And if so, do I immediately continue the treatment? I mean for instance, continue with the regimen that same night after the facial or will it get irritated?

By the way, I forgot to thank you for your reply post on my last query. Medyo malayo kasi derma ko, kaya sayang naman kung dayuhin ko pa ng malayo just for some questions.. hehe.. A big Thanks. your a huge help!

Hi Doc.. I would like to ask about my pimples...I was having a hard time dealing with it. Hindi ko alam kung bakit ako nagkaroon neto particularly sa noo ko. Hindi naman ako taghiyawatin but when I use some soaps and Facial scrubs..saka dumami..I tried going to facial salons pero parang mas lalo cyang dumami..Gusto ko na sanang matuyo to and mawala...Ano ba ang mga prefer products nyo for my pimples and to prevent it na dumami pa. And also, I'll be going out of town for vacation...magsswimming sana ako, since nagpa facial na ako, ano dapat ko gawin baka kasi dumami to sa beach.
