ei doc, thank you sa reply.

pasensya na rin. naging impatient ang patient...

you mentioned shampoo build-up. does it mean more water when rinsing off shampoo? or shall i mix shampoo with water when i apply it to my hair? dati kasi gawain kong pure shampoo ipapahid sa buhok tapos napansin ng kuya kong parang napapanot tuktok ko. kaya ngayon hinahaluan ko na ng tubig.

you also mentioned yeast and/or fungal infection. ngiii, kakatakot naman! last time i heard of this, yeast/fungal infection sa vagina. ano pong dapat ko'ng gawin kung yeast infection na nga 'tong tumama sa anit ko?

i know you're busy doc so i am willing to wait for your trusted medical reply. hehe

    Hi Skin doc,

I just wanna ask, if anong causes ng "Butlig"?
and how can I prevent this.

It's very irritating na kasi, especially on my arms. medyo rumarami siya.

    Thanks .

    Hi Paranoia!

I am very sorry i missed your question. I saw it just now while reviewing the thread na baka nga i may have missed someone.

Ichthyosis vulgaris can be managed by emollients, you have to regularly and patiently apply lotions, as often as you can. These are medicated lotions, may have propylene glycol, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, etc. You also have to use mild soap, avoid scrubbing or scratching the skin, avoid applying alcohol and taking hot showers to help improve your skin condition.

    Hi wordmastergurl!

There are a lot of causes of papules (butlig) on the arms. It can be an allergy, pimples, eczema, keratosis pilaris, etc.

It would be best that a dermatologist is seen to know which of these is your skin condition.

I started to grow pimples (big ones and small ones) on my face and it's not even my period yet. I've tried putting on creams and eskinol to no avail.. should i try salicylic acid products like the ones in St.Yves?

Will taking 1000mg VIt c helps?

how about lactic acid? how many percent? my derma gave me her own " recipe" of 10% lactic lotion acid..Naku parang nagkaron me sa braso kahit wala pa dati..naiinis tuloy po ako, parang nakasama pa.

Nag scrub me every 3 days ng panghilod, kasi if not andaming libag at pangit tingnan pag di ko hinilod e.

she also recommended me to use Eucerin lotion, kaso meron po kaya sa 'pinas nun?

*** lotion po ba dapat talaga? vitamins? ..

    Hi ADreamer!

Acne is stress related, that is why it comes out when you are about to have your period, when you stay up late at night or when you are stressed. These are the reasons why they also recur. It is recommended that you apply medications to control acne. Seeing a dermatologist to prescribe the best medication is advised

    Hi jparanoia!

Lactic acid can also be used, this is similar to the ones i listed on my earlier reply. You can try the other lotions i mentioned but it would be better that a dermatologist prescibe the appropriate lotion.

Avoid scrubbing your skin because it will aggravate your skin condition. Lalong magdry skin mo, lalong kakapal and mas may tendency mangati.

You can get that sa rustan's or s and r.

    Hi Bail!

Pwede siguro if medyo naiiritate ang skin mo with the oil. If nairritate ang skin natin, medyo namumula ito and pagnatuyo na nagiiwan ito ng pekas na pwedeng maputi o maitim.

    hello

i have some questions regarding Roaccutane... my dermatologist prescribed this to me for treatment of my acne.. but i've been reading some pretty troubling reports about its side effect... depression etc etc

any thoughts on this? i've had treatment before Isotrex i think through doc. pie calayan and this med worked ok for me.. i googled isotrex and it seems to me like Accutane and isotrex are practically the same. im a little bit confused on what medications to take but im very very sure that im desperate to get rid of these acne

    Dude, it's easy.

Go to any of Dr. Skindoc's post and direct your cursor to/ click on "Skin doc" (the one located on top of "member" and "join date"). Next, click on "send a private message to Skin Doc". Type your message then press "send".

Skin doc can you suggest me any treatment for broken capillaries sa face. Ano po ba yung mga causes ng broken capillaries? Wala namn kasi ako nito before. I have clear skin naman kaso ito lang talaga problem ko lalo na sa nose area it looks madumi and reddish so ginagawa ko is to cover it up with concealer. Sawang-sawa na kasi ako sa kakalagay ng concealer and I cannot go out without covering them. Pls help..Thanks po.

    Hi krystianne!

Isotretinoin is the generic name and Roaccutane is the branded name. I'm sure your dermatologist has requested for laboratory work-ups before you can start taking it. All medications have side effects, that's why you should be monitored and be following up with him/her. Your dermatologist is the best person to take care of your acne. Don't hesistate to ask all your questions or air out your concerns with your dermatologist.
