i can only think of Regine Velasquez as Elphie. She can probably nail Defying Gravity perfectly (don't get me wrong - - I'm no Regine fan to begin with..) -- with a little "re-training" (from Pop singing to musial theatre) - - I am confident she'll do a good job. Plus her facial structure fits the Elphaba mold :P hahah...Doubt if she will allow herself to be "greenified". You know how mainstream artists in the Philippines are - - wary of getting ugly for a role...ha ha

i think Lani Misalucha is a better option for Elphie...the face, and yes, definitely the voice!

i can not think of any pinay who can do Glinda.

I've been trying sooo hard to think of a good pinay Ga-Linda (with a "Ga" hahaha)...Wala sa mainstream entertainment. We should look into the stage thespians...Menchu Lauchengo-Yulo??? Too old...I'm not too familiar with the younger talents anymore *sob*

menchu lauchengco-yulo is perfect - regardless of the age, but you know naman the most of the pinoy audiences (they would rather see a young but mediocre performer) but if its in the case just like here on broadway, mechu's talent is unquestionable! she's perfect for Glinda. even some elphaba's on broadway and even in tours are 'matured' seasoned performers.

hahaha, medyo nagmamaldita si LBB ngayon kasi nga dahil dun sa Reality TV show ng MTV - Search for the Next Elle Woods, ang chika -di daw pala alam ni LBB na this month na sya papalitan, ang akala daw nya sometime in fall pa, then she found out nalang sa New York Times when she read the newspaper, then she said to the producers na she's not renewing her contract anymore. well, i understand naman ang pag mamaldita nya kahapon. hahaha!

about patti luPWN! bwahaha - she's such a character, you'll both love and hate her. you love her because thats the way she is - difficult. she's a dearie in stage doors - but from what iive been hearing from some friends who have worked with her - waaaah, scary. hahaha.

Defying Gravity is still in my head after a whole year since I first heard it on Youtube.

Incidentally, lumabas na pala ang A Lion Among Men. Nakita ko siya sa Fully Booked and sells for about 700. Buti na lang may bonus ako.hehehe

CD na lang ang kulang. Di ko man siya mapanood for real, kuntento na akong maexperience ang CDs.
