day 1 - midnight kayo dumating o noon? nalito lang ako kasi may taoyuan and ximen.

    day5 - gaanong baha ?

    day5 - gaanong baha ?

naguluhan ako bakit di nya alam papuntang taipei 101 or ask simple directions eh dyan sya nagaral

^Hi. We stayed for 4 nights last Nov 2010 in Shin Shih Hotel in Taipei. It's just a short walk (about 3 min) to the Shuanglian MRT station (2 stations away from the Taipei Main Station).

We stayed in their Triple room. The place is decent and clean.

Based on their website, they haven't increased their rates yet. Their single room costs TWD1880 or PHP2627.22 if reserved online. It includes a simple breakfast. They also have a Benz airport pick-up service for additional TWD1,400+ (midnight na kasi arrival namin nun).

    Ito yung itinerary namin dati:

    Day 1:

Shopping for boots at the shops in Taipei Main station (shops open at around 10-11am)

Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall Grounds

Lunch at Din Tai Fung in Sogo Mall

    Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall

    Taipei 101

    Shilin night market

    Day 2:

    Lunch at Hello Kitty Sweets

Beitou Hot Spring Water Park (we got lost here)

    Danshui Fisherman's Wharf

    Ximending (Shopping ulit)

    Day 3:

Yehliu Geopark (farthest spot we've been to. bus ride takes around 45 min one way)

    Miramar mall (Ferris Wheel)

    Day 4:
    Longshan Temple

Taipei International Floral Expo (don't know kung tuwing kelan lang to)

Let me know if you need instructions on how to go to those sites.

I recommend Eight Elephants Hostel as that was where I stayed last month. However, if you backread, there are a lot of other recommendations.

As for the itinerary, it depends on your interests.

My last short trip to Taipei included the following:

    • Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall
    • 228 Peace Memorial Park
    • Longshan Temple
    • Ximending
    • Yangmingshan National Park
    • National Palace Museum
    • Shilin Night Market
    • Tamsui Old Street and Tamsui River (Highly recommended)
    • Fort San Domingo
    • Taipei 101

Depends kung saang area mo gusto. Pero generally you would want to book a hotel/hostel near MRT Taipei Main Station. Last Apr I booked at a hostel near Yongchun MRT in Xinyi District (near Taipei 101). My mistake ang layo pala nito most tourist attactions.

Been to Taipei last Feb and it was very memorable for me as I got engaged there specificall at Shin Yeh 101 Restaurant at the 85th floor of Taipei 101. The weather was perfect for our trip! It was 11-14 deg but the wind chill in the afternoons made it really chilly!

We stayed at Hotel Puri hotel in Ximending. It's a quaint little hotel in an eskinita but it's not very hard to locate as it is just a mere 2 minute walk from the Ximen station. We didn't regret staying in our hotel as it was very busy at night and lots of good restaurants and shops we can visit before finally heading back to our hotel.

Ximending is a great area to shop and find unique items. Although we did visit Wufenpu and Shilin Night Market, I'd say I was able to buy more clothes/boots in Ximending. If you're not very particular in style, Shilin offers cheaper prices. There are a lot of authentic watch stores selling ORIS and other high-end watches at cheaper rates. Make sure you know how to negotiate. They will show you a catalogue and from there you can make your negotiations before they can finally show you the watches.

    Lively Ximending at night

Here's a glimpse of the places we went to during our 4-day stay in Taipei...

    Beitou Hot Springs

National Library (on the way to Beitou Hot Springs - very impressive "green" architecture)

Danshui Wharf/Lover's Bridge (it was almost Valentine's Day when we were there so there were acoustic performances too...hehe!)

Miramar Mall (rode the giant ferris wheel..Carrefour just across)

    view from the top

    Shih Lin Night Market

Eastern District (Zhongxiao Dunhua Station) near Sogo Chung Hsiao East Rd - 2nd hand designer stores --- check out Brand Off beside Esprit selling authentic 2nd hand LV,Balenciaga,Prada,Gucci,Rolex,Cartier,etc...

Maokong Gondola (wait for the crystal booth for a more fun experience) - same area as Taipei Zoo

Taipei 101 (there's a free shuttle from the Taipei main station..you'd be freezing waiting for it at night during fall/winter)

The beautiful park near Taipei 101

Taipei Nightlife (Inhouse, Anher Rd, Taipei City Hall)

Be sure to get a 1 day Taipei pass and grab the booklet/passport which will guide you through the different train stations and which attractions to see in each station

    Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall

Changing of the guards ceremony held every hour

I'll be in Taiwan for a few days for work, super bilis lang. I'll be staying in Kaohsiung, in a Buddhist monastery. I hope to find free time to go around, shop and eat (vegetarian meals lang throughout the workshop, I'm sure I'll be craving for meat and fish, and junk food). Sana makapag-Taipei 101 din.
