We just came back from Yogyakarta and we would like to recommend our driver/guide, Wishnu Midianto - who charged us a fixed rate of 400,000 IDR per day (12 hours) inclusive of gas and parking/toll fees. We were able to see the sunrise Borobudur and then proceed to Dieng Plateau! Amazing. You can contact him thru http://tourdriveryogya.com/. We would also hightly recommend De Pendopo Homestay - they prepared breakfast for us at 4:00am before we left for the Borobudur sunrise trip!
2 things na nde ko malilimutan sa Yogya:
1. Borobudur
2. Suharti Fried Chicken.

Hi marts_8! Nakakuha kami ng driver/guide, 1,250,000 ruppiah (US$135) - three full days of tours and airport transfers. Tatlo kaming naghati so sulit na din. After an hour of rest, punta na kami sa Prambanan Temple hanggan magsara at 6pm. 2nd day, 4:00am kami umalis papuntang Borobudur para sa sunrise.
3rd day namin, mas light na. The following day, uwi na kami.![]()
Thanks. I just checked the EXIF nung photo and found that we went there on a Sunday din (2+ yrs back).
Read your itinerary.. swerte nyo at maganda weather nung magpunta kayo sa Mt. Merapi.
anyone knows if there's forex dito sa tin na nagpapalit from peso to rupiah?
if I remember it correctly, at Dua Sisi in Jakarta, they exchange Peso to Rupiah but its much more expensive than Peso-Dollar-Rupiah. In Jogja, di ko napansin if they accept Peso. I found that banks in Jogja give lower rate than money changers. Also keep your 100 dollars crisp and free from folds and marks. Either they will reject your bill or they will give you a lower rate.

would you suggest 3 full days in yogya? or ok na ang 2 days? thanks!
I suggest you do two days in Yogja and also two days in Bali. There are more interesting places to see in Bali that one day is not enough.
Dieng has the oldest Buddhist temple in Java. If you are into temples, you must visit it. You can squeeze it in your 2nd day in Yogja, after a very early trip borobudur.
