Enjoy your Myanmar trip. Do you have a hotel in Bagan already? Visit the Myanmar thread (dead na nga yata eh). I think I posted a photo of the hotel where we stayed there. Maganda at mura.
Rp1.7 million is approx PHP7,930.00 at current exchange rate of 1 IDR= 0.0047 PHP or USD 185.47

Rates accrdg to XE.com as of today.

Good deal na yan if for 3 pax. Sana meron pa mas mura

Yes we have a hotel na in Myanmar. Everything is being arranged by our teacher for us as a group. I forgot the name of the hotel. Will look it up. Thanks for the heads-up!

Booked it last year pa with Airasia. Ang target kasi was Borobudur lang, eh madami pa pala places to go. Kaya yung Imogiri Market parang malabo na. Mahilig pa naman ako sa markets, wet man or supermarket.

magkano kaya ang transpo from Kraton to Kota Gede?
Sipag ko nga no? Napansin ko din

Nasa house kasi ako the past few days recovering from a nasty stomach flu. Bored to the core, kaya hayan puro typing ang naatupag.

You'll find lots of ground and whole beans in the supermarkets.

Last time we went to Jogja, we brought our car along, nag-long drive kami from Jakarta (12 hours lang naman). Pero di naman malayo yun from the town. Kahit mag-taxi ka lang pwede. Mas mura ang patak ng taxi sa Indonesia kesa Manila.

just got back yesterday. Borobudur was really magnificent. you can see Mount Merapi at the top. if you want to do it fast, just take the stairs in the middle up to the top. may handrails so hindi mahirap umakyat or do it the other way which is to walk all the levels clockwise until you reach the top for 2 hours. beware that the exit is on the other side of entrance so upon exiting there will be a long walk back to the park entrance or you can take a calesa or bus. We went on a Tuesday and there were a lot of students on trip. they also want to take a picture with foreigners kahit hindi puti basta foreigner.

Prambanan was also great. took a lot of pictures. again, yung exit iba sa entrance. I guess ganito sa lahat ng temple complex. so mahaba ang lalakarin mo to exit the park. we took the TransJogja bus. hindi ka naman mawawala sa Transjogja kasi may attendants in every station and they are willing to help. only 3000 RP per ride. sulit na sulit na unlike hiring a car for 315k RP. kaso nga lang, if by transjogja, 1 hour travel. pag rented car, mga 30 mins. but again if by transjogja, mahaba ang lalakarin to the gate of Prambanan. upon alighting the Prambanan stop, may mga nagooffer ng rides to the entrance. or if you prefer to walk, cross the road. makikita mo na yung temples behind the fence. walk towards your right, mga 600m walk yun to the entrance.

as for Dieng. boy, it was a really long ride but maganda talaga ang scenery. unlike Baguio na overcrowded na, ito hindi. and the climate was cool with fogs starting at 2pm. we had a bit of trouble going back. we started descent at 3pm kaso umulan ng sobrang lakas. kala nga namin it will be our end. bumabaha ang roads ng mountain tapos ang lalaki pa ng trucks na kasalubong mo. Ayaw na nga namin tumuloy. buti na lang our driver was very good. His name is Mr. Antok. he gave us his contact number kaso no email. mabilis siya mag drive pero safe naman. If you want his cell number, PM me.

De Pendopo was a good value stay. just dont order the pancake for breakfast kasi sobrang bigat niya, parang puro flour. hindi kasi instant yun ginamit nila. there were no renovations on-going and i don't think they will renovate soon kasi maayos naman ang rooms. i didn't find it run-down (as what a TA review said) tsaka malinis ang bathtub, no stains. as for the review sa TA na nakaksilaw daw ang room, they put on tint sa window. tip on going here kasi nasa loob pa siya ng mga "gang" or eskinita. but dont worry, its well lighted and safe naman sa gangs na yon. just ask the taxi to go to Jl. Prawirotaman. yung gang nasa east side. may makikita ka sign De Pendopo Homestay nakapako sa poste kaso medyo mataas. just look on the left side of the road if from Jl. Tritis. Tabi ata ng gang yung Hotel 163 if i remember it right. then turn right uli sa unang gang then andun na yung De Pendopo. as for food in this area, medyo pricey for budget travellers like me. average meal is 40k without drinks. you can go to Malioboro, mas madami choices. from Malioboro to De Pendopo, 14k ang taxi ride.

Was not able to go to Kraton, wala na kasi time. we opted to go to market instead but mga 30mins lang kasi baka maiwan na kami ng plane.

hope you guys enjoy Jogja as much as I did

about Menoreh Hill pala, dapat medyo fit kayo kasi medyo steep towards the top. start the climb at 4am. bring flashlight. they charge 15k RP per person for the upkeep of the viewdeck with free coffee or tea. may mga nag camp doon to get the best pictures of sunrise. muddy pa naman nung nagpunta kami at madaming nadulas. pero iba ang view doon. or you can take the Manohara sunrise for a fee.

How many days po ba kayo nag stay in Yogyakarta? In Jakarta? Thanks!

i was in Indonesia last month. My friend is working in Jakarta so we stayed at her condo. We arrived around 2am (Day 1) sa Jakarta, then the next day early flight 5am to Yogyakarta. Booked at Venezia Homestay (very cheap and good accommodation). Hired a private car for one whole day to tour around Yogyakarta (went to Borobudur and Prambanan and shopped at Malioboro). Day 3 flew back to Jakarta in the afternoon (shopping galore), Day 4 wokeup early 5am for a road trip to Bandung, went back to Jakarta at around 7am, the derecho na sa airport for our flight back to Manila.

It was a fully-packed trip but all worth it. I love Yogyakarta!
