    Question

I'm seriously considering being a member of a gym, or trying it out at least. Slimmer's comes to mind cause my mom signed up for their lifetime membership, but has never used the gym yet and might transfer membership to me. Guess just want to find out if ok sya though.

Anyways, anyone know anything about it? My major concern is the flexibility of schedules and the alaga I guess. I'm working just across from Megamall and would probably be frequenting this branch if ever I do sign up.

BG: ok lang yun P40T, kesa pay sya ng P80T or so (how much na ba ngayon for lifetime membership?) for a new one

insomniac: slimmers' is one of the better fitness centers we have here, pero there are even better ones. but since u'll be getting ur mom's lifetime membership naman, then it's ok worth it na, i guess. dun ka sa megamall? nako.. i personally dont like their megamall branch much. if u can, go to their greenhills branch instead (Atlanta Place bldg along annapolis). super ok dun kesa megamall. or better still, kung malapit ka, pinaka ok yung sa pan pacific (i've heard lang from someone who goes there and who has gone to the annapolis branch with me already). hope that helps somehow

i have been a member of SWI for so many years now, when their lifetime membership fee was still dirt-cheap (well, not exactly during that time, but compared to their rates now, it is). i frequent their binondo branch, and i can say that the facilities are quite adequate naman, and there are a lot of aero classes to choose from. ok din naman ang mga trainers, kaya lang feeling ko you have to make chika with them para ma-alagaan ka.

I've been a member of SWI for a long time na. I got my lifetime when it was really cheap and sulit. The price for a lifetime today is really expensive parang P60-80k. If your planning to use the gym regularly for atleast a decade then I guess it could be worth it. Pero check out other gyms narin there are a lot out there na not as expensive as SWI pero as good as or even better.

I too have been with the SWI for more than two years already.

Eep! PhP40,000 is way beyond my budget. But at this point I'm not pushing through with it anymore . (So much for my resolve ). Not just because of the price, but because I convinced my mom to use her membership to shape up.

I might look for more affordable means to tone up myself, though. Maybe Taebo?

Anyway thanks to all those who replied.

    Thumbs down SWI

Lifetime member ako sa SWI pero i discourage you coz walang "personal touch" at "Know how" ang mga Fitness trainers doon!As a matter of fact, nagsara na yung Ali mall,Galleria,
Timog atbp...(Coming Soon!)Para kaming Divisoria sa dami ng tao sa SM City at kasama na rin ang Megamall doon!
I suggest you find a better gym.Yun nga ang inquiry ko sa
Hobbies & Recreation threAD dito. You mught want to check it out!

anyone who goes to Slimmer's? which branch? i've a few questions for you guys.

    Thumbs down

I do...but I had to enroll in a more exclusive gym after all these "DESPERATE" promos they have.It ain't a gym anymore, but a marketplace or "talipapa" due to the huge crowd. You can't have a decent work-out anymore at kawawa naman kaming mga Lifetime members who paid so much.
Sana, they have monthly dues na lang instead of coming up with desperate measures of meeting their sales quota and overhead expenses!!! The only reason that I come is due to my favorite aerobics teacher but I work-out in Premiere City Club in New Manila!Ang ganda!!!!

I do (raising my hand). I am currently working out in Slimmer's megamall. Before I was in Galleria but unfornatunely, it closed. I am a lifetime member of Slimmers, been working out for about 3 years there.

claudja: how much is it in your new gym? is it crowded?

dj_ericcson: is it crowded at slimmer's megamall? it's hard to work out when there are many people waiting in line to use the equipments. hurrying doesn't do well for my training.

I paid P 60,000 for a lifetime sa Premiere plus monthly dues na P 500...pero they have 3 jacuzzis, steam bath, sauna, badminton court, swimming pool and other ammneities na parang hotel.Libre na ang work-out towel,
bath towel, soap, shampoo,at HINDI sya palengke since it is very exclusive nga at you don't have to pay for a personal trainer who will attend to you na bagong pakana ng SWI.
Re:Megamall branch,I dare you at alam ko na ang sagot sa tanong na yan.Bet?!

hi! I'm also a member of Premiere City Club in New Mla. I agree with what Claudja said. It's nice there and friendly staffs too. It's not even that crowded and alot cheaper. I just paid 30T for annual membership and I'm beginning to like it so I'm thinking if I'll switch to be a lifetime member also. Actually, I was first thinking about enrolling at SWI in Megamall but it's kinda inconvenient for me and besides, I still have to look for parking space not unlike in Premiere they have valet parking.

  17. #17

    Thumbs up

Nice to know you're in Premiere also!
Naku,mag-lifetime ka na at they will be expanding pa to Banaue and Mother Ignacia.Di ka magsisisi!
Korek ka dyan at may valet pa pala sa Premiere plus a salon and a restaurant na masarap.Hala, paano yung diet?!hahahahaa!!

    Yup. SWI sucks. As in!

You think the one in mega is bad? Try their gyms in Regina Towers and the one in Kalookan.

    Ugh.

I want to sell my membership for the longest time. Darn. Ang mahal ng transfer fee ng SWI. Feeling sosy sila. OK lang sila!
