    I agree.

Besides, Nursing schools here in Manila are so overpriced...

    You are extremely correct!
Schools outside Metro Manila can compete head-to-head with schools in NCR. I have a friend in West Visayas State Univ. she said some students are already from NCR. They choose to finish their Nursing there because of quality education, cost and the environment. WVSU is also a Gov't Univ same as UP

First of all, I'm a registered nurse from UST try ko lang sagutan 'to without bias based from my experience. I work for 1 and half year in the ICU of St Luke's Medical Center and now working as a research associate for a research company.

Top 5 Nursing School for me:

    1. UST - aside from being a center of excellence, it produces top caliber nurses and able to handle a big number of student population that can pass the licensure examination.

If i'm not mistaken sa UST unang na-implement ang IMCI ng WHO. UST has long been a power house of nursing education, UST professors are one of the sought after reviewers for the local boards. Most of my professors have been invited as far as Zamboanga to conduct review classes. I'm a lot of student nurses here have heard of the names of our beloved professor who have written books for reviews or attended a review under them: eg. Villarama for Pedia, Ignacio for OB, Olayres for Communicable Diesase, Cantuba for MS and the books of Udan for Funda and MS are really popular i can see them left and right held by students from different nursing schools. In terms of Gapuz, i've heard several bad things about him but don't know if all are true but he has made an empire of review centers all over the country and he is too a UST graduate.

In most hospitals i've been Heart Center, Asian, Makati Med., Medical City and Cardinal most Thomasian nurses are promoted to manegerial positions. St Luke's Medical Center has now a policy that it prioritize graduates from good nursing schools (i'm not sure about the full list but UST, UP and Trinity grads are amongst the priority for training and hiring). When I finished my training sa SLMC, I became the Best Trainee that's why i was able to put in ICU even though i was a fresh graduate. Trainor even told me that for the last 8 batches of trainees from UST ang best trainees.

    2. UP - no words necessary, magaling ang UP kaya lang talaga limited ang capacity to accept students because of budget. (linawin ko lang hindi pareho ang category ng UP sa UST when it comes to local boards)

    3. St. Paul (from the North- not sure) - according to my professors they are one of the most disciplined students and they have good performance from the boards as well.

    4. SLU - work with them before, ok sila vast nursing knowledge and good record when it comes to boards exam. Kaya lang most of them attend outside review center such as Labagnoy, hindi raw kasi sila satisfied sa inhouse review.

    5. Siliman University - same with SLU, marami na ko naka trabaho from Siliman and ok sila.

    Emerging Schools of Nursing:

DLSU - medyo fluctuating pa performance nila sa board exam and needs to revamp their student selection criteria, i have a niece who applied their and it seems priority nila ang may pera kaysa sa matalino.

Ang di lang maganda dito may outside help sila for review students goes to Merge for the review sa local.

hey..if i may ask..from where did you get the facts? (the part in which Trinity Nursing was about to be closed before? and what year was it?)

cuz from what ive known, trinity nursing first founded 1907 only has 3 students (it was then st.luke's college of nursing only). during 50's,60's,70's..etc..students taking up nursing were scarce (in the philippines). and ofcourse during that time not much of a number students were enrolled at trinity (& i believe, also with other schools). ive known someone whose batch graduated on 1993 (trinity college of qc - st. lukes college of nursing). there were only 2 sections back then with 35 students per section. but there was no news that the college of nursing would be closed.
during 1980's to early 1990's i think there was only a maximum of 2 sections per batch. but still...i havent even heard of a news that it was about to close due to scarcity of students. besides, why would they close when they've got 100% passing during those times. (im certain that from year 1993 to 1996, trinity's passing on the board exam was 100%..& i think years before, they were also doing great.)

kindly tell me the link or any document where you got that informations..(so i can correct the things i said [if those are wrong],which i believe to be the facts)

    Delusional, pathetic, trying-hard UST basher.

Do you think 10 years is enough to undo what the UST College of Nursing has already accomplished?

UP, UST and PLM lang ang top nursing schools.

Centers of Excellence pa ang nursing ng UP and UST.

Come on, it's just a person's opinion, anyway... he/she's entitled to it.

We don't need to prove our beloved Alma Mater's worth. Ano ba ang alam niya? Kaya nga sila wala siya UST eh...

Sharing an opinion is one thing.

But sharing an "opinion" that's nasty is an altogether different matter.

That PEXer goes to great lengths in his ridiculous attempt to discredit UST.
