Hello po. Just signed up after reading a blog that referred to this thread.

I'm taking my family to Coron for a 3 days 2 nights holiday during the 1st week ng September. I hope the weather cooperates during our stay. I read somewhere na mid-monsoon season ang Sept.

Anyway, I've done a lot of reading but up until now hindi pa rin ako clear on where to stay. Thus far I've shortlisted the following (in order of pref):

1. R2R Bayview Inn
2. Island View Inn
3. Darayonan Lodge
4. Mt. Tapyas Hotel (I read though that is uphill. I'm traveling with my 70+ yr old father so I'm not sure if the location's gonna be good for him)

What do you think po?

I would also like to take this opportunity na rin to ask for a bangkero. I've read of Owen Ferrer (DIY Coron) but would like hear kung anu-ano pa ang alternatives. We're looking for somebody na merong big enough boat to accommodate 8 persons (private tour) for the Coron Islands tour (Kayangan, Barracuda, Twin Lagoon, Banol Beach, Siete Pecados etc).

The Mt Tapyas may not be good for a senior citizen unless kaya nya mag 724 steps. Pwedeng dahan dahan pero matagal kayo dun hehehe

Unfortunately, di ko marerecommend yung tour guide namin kase laging late and laging nawawala sa tour. Yung boat men namin tamang sa boat lang talaga. Unlike dun sa ibang boats nakikita namin na sinasamahan talaga yung mga guests mag swim. Siguro na tamad na sila mag swim. Two days hehehe

hi, me and my friend will be in coron on july 19. arrival namin is 4pm so probably we'll reach the town by 5pm pa. if pagdating pa lang namin kami mag-arrange ng trip & nun pa lang maghanap ng boatman madali lang ba? we are planning an overnight stay in banana island on july 20. or is it still safe to go to banana island kahit gabi na, pagdating namin on 19? would appreciate any feedbacks. tnx...

Madali lang maghanap ng boatman, they have standard rates which are posted on the wharf after the market.

Coron town to Banana island will take 1.5-2 hours travel. Minsan malakas ang alon, so naka-cancel ang tours sa Malcapuya/Banana island portions. I suggest you go there on the following morning, then do the Coron loop island tour on your way back the following day.
