    Question Eh?

Perhaps you should clarify what you mean, Margarita. Do you intend this to be a thread on personal reflections about life, or a discussion on optics?

*eyebrows tilted inquisitively*.... the topic intrigued me though... as i've been pondering on it for a couple of days now.... do u mean the truth or untruths which mirrors may reflect back to us from a physical perspective?

Sorry for the confusion, by mirrors I mean mirrors per se. As in the tangible mirror you look at every morning to fix yourself up.

    Do mirrors scare you?
Do you think that they can be a portal to another world?
Do you like what you see in the mirror?
Do you actually think that your own reflection in the mirror is exactly the way you look (physically, that is) in other people's eyes?
Or wala lang, do you take mirrors as they are?

Again, your thoughts on these and more personal remarks on mirrors please -

    Cool

    ah ok........

i remember this parable of sorts........about glasses really.....it just says that you can look through a glass....you can see others through it.....everything is clear.....but when you add silver to glass, it becomes a mirror....and you start to see only yourself...

personally......i like certain mirrors......kasi cute ako sa kanila, yun lang!!! i still hope to own a full-length one

Do mirrors scare me? uh.. when i wake up in the morning, still disheveled, and look at the mirror.. JK!

I dont think it can be a portal to another world. it's just a mirror -- there's mercury behind the glass. I guess i see mirrors as they are -- just mirrors.

Do you actually think that your own reflection in the mirror is exactly the way you look (physically, that is) in other people's eyes? - Nope. Our reflections are only 2-dimensional. Adding another dimension makes a big difference when looking at something.

when i was younger, i kinda "feared" mirrors (not coz of my reflection.. lol) but the other things i might see there.

in high school, i learned to "talk" to the mirror (hindi ako nababaliw ok?) wala lang, especially during tense moments, medyo nakakatulong sa pagrelease ng kaba when u go and face the mirror and express how you feel (wag lang gagawang big scene, baka mapagkamalan kang baliw)

i dunno... sometimes i still have mixed feelings towards the mirror...

one thing sure though... i hate our elevator here sa bldg where i work! (puro mirrors...) panget lahat ng tao sa mga salamin dun

Hey, that reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode I saw once, where this guy was being stalked by a ghost-murderer with a strangling-cable, but the murderer could only appear in mirrors! So the guy had to avoid mirrors or anything reflective, or the murderer would start strangling him.

We have an elevator like that too. I call it the Infinity Elevator, because of the infinite reflections.

I have a question about that: in a room (or an elevator) with mirrors all around, what happens if I shine a laser pointer at the mirrors? Will it reflect infinitely and fill the room with laser beams? I don't think so. Why not?

    candyman, candyman, candyman... ah! mirrors?
well almost all of them have the ability to distort your features, but that doesn't make them magical or anything.
though it is queer that everytime i look at the mirror i feel i can't hide anything from my reflection (or myself). maybe it's my conscience again... or my hyperactive imagination... whatever! hey, anyone here into anime? (at saan galing ang tanong na yon?)
