Peanut Gallery for Formal Debate #1 - Animal Experimentation
This is where we discuss the debate going on in this thread http://www.pinoyexchange.com/forums/...7#post18116247
I know ischaramoochie enjoys a large fanbase here in the RoT. I hope his fans remain objective let's limit the discussion here to the arguments given by both debaters, if possible. BTW I'm not actually against animal experimentation |

we can all learn a lot from this debate. I'm not as interested in the topic as much as I am in the strategy, moochie's is a classic example of how to fight from a difficult position: restate the terms.
don't say baby polar bears, say "endangered species". don't draw attention to the cuteness of mice or the fluffiness of bunnies, say they're "overpopulated". and who cares about domesticated animals? that's the entire animal kingdom right there; in three strokes moochie's cut the legs out from under any emotional resonance JW's position may hold, and planted the debate firmly on the ground of cold logic. this is why opening statements make all the difference; this is just poker from hereon in, first one who blinks loses. sorry, JW, but he's stacked the cards. |
