    aihihihi!!!

i read somewhere that a normal person loses 40-100 hair per day. gaano ba kadami ang nalalagas mong hair?

  3. #83
falling hair can be a sign of hormonal problem or stress. in women using hormone replacements, they experienced hairloss as side effects of the med's. in normal individuals, falling hair is a sign of stress. so i suggest you give yourself a time to relax. the use of shampoo and brushing your hair while it is still wet may contribute to your hair loss also. i think the ideal way is to use d shampoo every other day. well, this is not the case always, if you think your hairloss is significant, you need to see ur derma...

grabe din ang paglalagas ng buhok ko. someone told me about coco-puro and i tried it. so far, maganda ang result. you can use any brand ng virgin coconut oil.

instead of using pantene hair fall control, use palmolive shampoo and conditioner, the green one.

or, mas okay if you will see a dermatologist. kasi malalaman mo ang reason bakit sobrang maglagas ang buhok mo. you'll also know kung anong shampoo ang dapat muna mong gamitin.

sa case ko, ang findings ay depression and puyat (yep, nakakalagas din ng buhok yun ) ... i was also advised to use baby shampoo muna and lagyan ng oil ang roots ng hair ko, 30 mins - 1 hour before ako maligo (that's why, i used coco-puro).

    sana nakatulong

alam ko, it's normal to shed 50-150 (or 200?) strands of hair a day. (yup, i count it!) Feeling ko nga related sa stress yun (nabasa ko din sa net), dahil pansin ko when i'm in that anxious stage na isip ako isip ng problems, dumadami talaga.

Hi guys, do you have any tips on how to combat hair loss? I have tried consulting a dermatologist, tapos may binigay siya sa akin na shampoo to use and gamot na-inaapply sa scalp pero walang di effective.

The only FDA-approved drugs use to treat hair loss are finasteride (propecia) and minoxidil (rogaine). Plus, it would take several months to see results.

Malaking effect ba talaga yung stress and dundruff sa pagkakaroon ng hair loss? Any tips or suggestions on how to fight these? I have a very stressful job.

  21. #96
stress, definitely has a major effect.

    vitamins.. probably stresstab.
my girlfriend is a pharmacist, and she mentioned a few more types that you may be able to take, but she suggests you consult your doctor first.

hello! although minoxidil is fine, i read somewhere in this thread that it has a rebound effect. minoxidil should not be discontinued. otherwise, kung gaano kadami ang tinubo ng hair mo, ganon din kadami ang malalagas. my friend used to put this on his hair but i suggested to have it replaced by HAIRBAC. Not that i am an employee neither using this product but it just happened that i read about this product somewhere in this thread. Forgot the link but its related to falling hair, hair loss din. Medyo matagal na kasi yun. And in a matter of days, he could see the new hair growing on his scalp. I'll pm you where you can get hold of this product as i still have to check my mails of their contact info ok?

You can try hairbooster but a very good alternative is centrum.

    vitamins.. probably stresstab.
stresstab does NOT control stress, it's just "multivitamins + iron".
as a matter of fact, it contains too much iron.

    Excess Iron and Cancer

Iron acts as a cancer-promoting agent by two separate yet synergistic mechanisms: 1) by producing "free radicals," and 2) by feeding cancer cells. Iron increases the production of free radicals, and-in fact-the production of free radicals is largely proportionate to the level of iron.4 This means that the more iron there is in the body, the more free radicals will be produced and thus the greater the risk of disease, in this case, cancer. Free radicals are oxygen-containing molecules which damage (oxidize) the DNA of cells. Since DNA controls the activities of the cell, once the DNA is damaged, the cell becomes "out of control." Essentially, all cancer cells are out of control. These cancer cells then replicate and grow rapidly and eventually infiltrate and damage the body's organs. Additionally, cancer cells consume many nutrients and thereby starve the host. One of the nutrients cancer cells need most is iron. In fact, researchers now think that iron may be a "rate-limiting" nutrient for cancer cell growth.5 This means that the more iron that is available, the more the cancer cells will divide and flourish, and the better chance they have of killing the host. Recent research has shown that people with high levels of iron have an increased risk for cancer.5, 6

    Excess Iron and Heart Attacks

The free radicals which are produced by iron can promote the development of heart disease. Free radicals can damage (oxidize) cholesterol in the blood. When cholesterol has been oxidized, it is much more likely to "get stuck" in the arteries and blood vessels in the body and especially in the arteries that deliver nutrients and oxygen to the heart. When too much of this cholesterol becomes stuck in the arteries, it makes the inside of the artery smaller, and less blood can get to the heart muscle. Eventually, the blood flow may become so reduced that the heart cannot receive enough oxygen and nutrients, and some of the "starved" heart tissue may die-this is called a heart attack. Heart attacks are one of the leading killers of people in this country and are a very common cause of death in men. Men who have high levels of iron are at an increased risk for heart attack.7

don't be swayed by their marketing strategy. the pharmaceutical company used the word "stress" in the product's name to create a (wrong) impression on people's minds.
