^ when my wife asked for their equity fund in their BPI antipolo branch a few months ago, the people there denied that they have that product and instead offered TD. hindi na nangulit si kumander at umalis na lang. their equity funds are doing very well pa naman.
Yes, you have to go to a branch and submit the application forms which you would print and sign after completing the online application process. The investment manager who handled my application also asked me to come back the following day to sign some additional documents. You only have to do this one time. After you are subscribed to their UITF or MF, you can already buy and sell units/shares online anytime.
Unit prices are going up and down rapidly and unpredictably on any given day. That makes it nearly impossible to answer your question regarding interest rates.
i almost forgot, I applied in BDO the online fund transfer to Philequity ... at least di na hassle ang pag pila sa BDO
Not all teller in the banks are authorized to sell MF, they should be a licensed represenatative, pass the licensure exam at SEC.. Ask someone there or the manager..

Philam Strategic Growth Fund I think is the only MF to beat the market performance in 1Q. I'm planning to invest in UITF but found my portfolio to be quite risky already. But given the interest rates, talo pa din eh. What are my other options?
I feel such a child tuloy, kasi ngayon pa lang ako nagriresearch about it. thanks for this very informative thread.
survey: nagma-monthly/regular dagdag ba kayo sa mga mutual funds nyo? if no, why not? if yes, which kinds of mutual funds (equity? balnaced? bond?)? hati kasi ang puso ko between peso-costaveraging and lump sum. di ko rin sure if i should custom my own investment style--- maghulog kapag mababa ang NAVPS. will really appreciate your inputs. thanks!
You can visit any eBiz (nasa website nila yun list) Western Union (madami to, meron lahat ng major cities s Manila) that they are accredited, its a simple process, fill up the form from their website and make payment over the counter, western union will issue a receipt and after 5pm may notice n s email mo about the investment, no need to scan any docs. Hope this helps.
Dinodoble ko hulog once market is down kasi mababa yun NAVPS, applying cost averaging. Nung nag-crash ang market, i was shocked kasi lumiit sya. I've learned my lesson.survey: nagma-monthly/regular dagdag ba kayo sa mga mutual funds nyo? if no, why not? if yes, which kinds of mutual funds (equity? balnaced? bond?)? hati kasi ang puso ko between peso-costaveraging and lump sum. di ko rin sure if i should custom my own investment style--- maghulog kapag mababa ang NAVPS. will really appreciate your inputs. thanks!
Meron po ako vul with sun life, ask ko lang kung ano mas advisable yung mag top up na lang for the mf or mag open ako ng ibang mutual fund other than dun sa sun life.
@ Kuya Danny - sir, as I was saying sa kabilang thread, just want to ask this.. in your own opinion po, masasabi ba natin na ang mutual fund is a safe investment instrument? What I mean "safe" is yung hindi maglalaho yung pera mo, which usually happens pag nagsara ang isang bangko or pre-need companies. Tama po ba?
Kase kapag ang bank at pre-need companies eh nagsara, there is a possibility na hindi mo na makuha yung pera mo. Or kung makuha mo man maaaring hindi na yung actual amount na inilagak mo. But in a mutual fund company kahit pa mag-sara ito, you and all other investors can appoint another mutual fund company. So yung nabili mong shares nandun pa din. TIA..
Yes. A mutual fund normally is a corporation. The investors are the shareholders (that's why your investments are quoted as NAVPS - net asset value per share). The corporation's assets are its investments (stocks, bonds, etc) and it should have very few liabilities (mostly accrued expenses). The fund manager is under contract with the shareholders to manage the assets. If the fund manager goes out of business, he can be replaced.
tama ka pre, that's how it should be on paper but check out first galleon mf. parang nabale wala lhat ng safe guards
