    10 fulfilled recently

These 10 Bible prophecies were fulfilled after 1948, when Israel became an independent country for the second time in history. These prophecies foretold of modern Israel's stunning military victories and of its transition from a desert wasteland to a prosperous nation.

    1. Israel will prevail over its enemies
    Bible passage: Isaiah 41:12-14
    Written: perhaps between 701-681 BC
    Fulfilled: late 1900s
In Isaiah 41:12-14, the prophet said God would help Israel during times of conflict with enemies (if the people have faith in God). Isaiah said this during a time when the northern kingdom of Israel had already been conquered by the Assyrian Empire. And the southern kingdom, Judah, was about to be conquered by Babylon. (The Bible explains that Israel and Judah lost their independence because so many people had turned to false religions). But, since 1948 when Israel was re-established, Israel has been attacked by much-larger countries. And Israel has prevailed in each of those attacks. This prophecy has been partially fulfilled. Christian scholars believe that a time will come when all of Israel's enemies are destroyed. Then, Israel finally will be able to live in peace.
    Here is Isaiah 41:12-14
Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all. For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Do not be afraid, O worm Jacob, O little Israel, for I myself will help you," declares the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

    2. The ruins of Israel would be rebuilt
    Bible passage: Amos 9:11, 13
    Written: about 750 BC
    Fulfilled: late 1900s
In Amos 9:11, 13, the prophet said that God would restore the land of David. (King David ruled Israel from 1010 BC to 970 BC). The Jews have been rebuilding many of Israel's ruined cities during much of the past 100 years. These ruins are partly the result of ancient destructions by the Assyrians, Babylonians and Romans. Amos also said there would be continuous planting and harvesting. During the past 100 years, the Jews have been using advanced farming and irrigation techniques to turn barren land into productive farmland. Today, Israel is a source of food for many countries.
    Here is Amos 9:11, 13
"In that day I will restore David's fallen tent. I will repair its broken places, restore its ruins, and build it as it used to be,'' … "The days are coming," declares the Lord, "when the reaper will be overtaken by the plowman and the planter by the one treading grapes. New wine will drip from the mountains and flow from all the hills."

    3. Ezekiel prophesied prosperity for modern-day Israel
    Bible passage: Ezekiel 36:11
    Written: between 593-571 BC
    Fulfilled: late 1900s
In Ezekiel 36:11, the prophet said that when Israel again became a country, it would be more prosperous than the original Israel. During the time that Ezekiel delivered this prophecy about 2500 years ago, he and other Jews had been forced out of their homeland by the Babylonians. But, today, Israel again is an independent country. Israel's population of Jews has increased 10 times over - from about 600,000 to 6,000,000 - since it regained independence in 1948. Israel has the highest per capita Gross Domestic Product of any nearby country, even though the surrounding countries have many oil resources.
    Here is Ezekiel 36:11
I will increase the number of men and animals upon you, and they will be fruitful and become numerous. I will settle people on you as in the past and will make you prosper more than before. Then you will know that I am the Lord.

    4. Trees again would grow in Israel
    Bible passage: Isaiah 41:18-20
    Written: perhaps between 701-681 BC
    Fulfilled: late 1900s
In Isaiah 41:18-20, the prophet's talk of a future restoration of Israel coincides with an occurrence in modern Israel - the construction of a vast irrigation system to improve farming. The lack of available water, including rain, is one reason why Israel had been a desolate, unproductive land during much of the past 2000 years. But, during the 1900s, when many Jews returned to their ancient homeland, they built a network of irrigation systems. Isaiah also gives an accurate description of how Israel's land would again have many trees. More than 200 million trees have been planted in Israel during the 1900s.
    Here is Isaiah 41:18-20
I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs. I will put in the desert the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive. I will set pines in the wasteland, the fir and the cypress together, so that people may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the Lord has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it.

You can help: By the way, you too can help with Israel's efforts to plant more trees and to turn the Holy Land's desert into a more productive and beautiful land. You can learn more about this at the http://www.jnf.org Web site: Jewish National Fund

    5. Isaiah said Israel's fruit would fill the world
    Bible passage: Isaiah 27:6
    Written: perhaps between 701-681 BC
    Fulfilled: late 1900s
In Isaiah 27:6, the prophet said Israel would one day blossom and fill the world with fruit. This prophecy has been fulfilled literally and symbolically. Today, the land of Israel, which had been barren for centuries, is a leading producer of agricultural products, exporting food to many countries. This prophecy also has been fulfilled symbolically with the worldwide spread of Christianity. Christianity, which began with Jesus in Israel, now has about 2 billion followers worldwide.
    Here is Isaiah 27:6
In days to come Jacob will take root, Israel will bud and blossom and fill all the world with fruit.

    6. Egypt will one day be afraid of Israel
    Bible passage: Isaiah 19:17
    Written: perhaps between 701-681 BC
    Fulfilled: 1967, etc.
In Isaiah 19:17, the prophet says that Judah (another name for the Jewish homeland) would one day strike fear into Egypt. This prophecy has been at least partially fulfilled in recent history. During each of the Arab-Israeli wars since 1948, the Jews have prevailed over Egypt, which is 10 times larger than Israel. In 1967, Egypt set up a blockade of Israeli shipping from the Gulf of Aqaba. That triggered the Six Day War of 1967. By the end of the six days, Israel had crushed Egypt's air force, controlled the entire Sinai Peninsula, the Gaza Strip, as well as all Jordanian territory west of the Jordan River, the Golan Heights of Syria and the holy city of Jerusalem. About 12 years later, Egypt defied other Arab countries and signed a peace agreement with Israel.
    Here is Isaiah 19:17
And the land of Judah will bring terror to the Egyptians; everyone to whom Judah is mentioned will be terrified, because of what the Lord Almighty is planning against them.

    7. Egypt would never again rule over other nations
    Bible passage: Ezekiel 29:15
    Written: between 593-571 BC
    Fulfilled: 1967, etc.
In Ezekiel 29:15, the prophet says that Egypt would recover from a desolation (perhaps Babylon's attack about 2600 years ago), but that it would never again rule over other nations. Up until the time of Ezekiel, Egypt had been a world power for centuries, dominating many nations, including Israel. But for most of the past 2500 years, Egypt has been controlled by foreign powers, including the Romans, Ottomans and Europeans. Today, Egypt is an independent nation again. In 1948, 1967 and 1973, Egypt tried to dominate Israel but was unsuccessful each time, despite the fact that Egypt is 10 times larger than Israel. The Egypt of today is an impressive nation, but it no longer rules over other nations.
    Here is Ezekiel 29:15
It will be the lowliest of kingdoms and will never again exalt itself above the other nations. I will make it so weak that it will never again rule over the nations.

    8. Zechariah prophesied the Jews return to Jerusalem
    Bible passage: Zechariah 8:7-8
Written: between 520 and 518 BC
    Fulfilled: 1967, etc.
In Zechariah 8:7-8, the prophet said God would bring the Jews back from the east and the west to their homeland (Israel) and that they would again be able to live in the city of Jerusalem. This prophecy has been fulfilled more than once. The most recent example was when the Jews took control of Jerusalem during the Six Day War in 1967. But there's more: Zechariah said God would bring the Jews back from the east and the west and then they would be able to live in Jerusalem. That's literally what happened in 1967. At that time, very large numbers of Jews had already returned to Israel from the east (Middle East) and the west (Europe and the United States). But, it wasn't until after 1967 that large numbers of Jews were able to emigrate from the north (Russia) and from the south (Ethiopia).
    Here is Zechariah 8:7-8
This is what the Lord Almighty says: "I will save my people from the countries of the east and the west. I will bring them back to live in Jerusalem; they will be my people, and I will be faithful and righteous to them as their God."

    9. Israel's deserts will become like the Garden of Eden
    Bible passage: Isaiah 51:3
    Written: perhaps between 701-681 BC
    Fulfilled: Being fulfilled now
In Isaiah 51:3, the prophet says God will restore Israel and make it a paradise, like the garden of Eden. This foreshadows what is currently happening in Israel. The Jews have been irrigating, cultivating, planting and reconditioning the land during much of the 1900s. Many of the country's swamps, which had been infested with malaria, have been converted into farmland. And water from the Sea of Galilee has been channeled to the deserts, allowing them to bloom. Israel is increasingly becoming a beautiful, productive land. Although it was described as a wasteland as recently as the late 1800s, Israel is now a food source for many countries. At least 200 million of trees have been planted there during the past century.
    Here is Isaiah 51:3
The Lord will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing.

    10. Isaiah foretold the order in which the Jews returned to Israel
    Bible passage: Isaiah 43:5-6
    Written: perhaps between 701-681 BC
    Fulfilled: late 1900s
Isaiah delivered a prophecy 2,700 years ago that accurately named the order of the four directions from which the Jews would return to Israel from various parts of the world. He said the Jews would return from the east, the west, the north and the south. During the past 100 years, millions of Jews throughout the world have moved to Israel. The major migrations came first from the east, then the west and finally the north and south.
Many Jews had been forced out of their homeland by the Assyrians, in about 721 BC. More were forced out by the Babylonians, beginning in about 605 BC. And more were forced out by the Romans in 70 AD and 135 AD. But, they began to return in the late 1800s.
First, from the east: Hundreds of thousands of Jews living in the Middle East moved to Israel by the early 1900s.
Second, from the west: During mid-1900s, hundreds of thousands of Jews living in the West (Europe and the United States) began moving to Israel.
Third, from the north: The former Soviet Union (Russia) is north of Israel. And it appeared that the so-called Iron Curtain would stop the migration of the Jews and put an end to Isaiah's prophecy. But after years of pressure from other countries, Russia began to allow Jews to return to Israel during the 1980s. So far, hundreds of thousands of Russian Jews have moved to Israel.
Finally, from the south: Ethiopia is south of Israel. In 1985, Israel struck a deal with Ethiopia's communist government to allow the Jews of Ethiopia to move to Israel. On the weekend of May 25, 1991, 14,500 Ethiopian Jews were airlifted to Israel. Television cameras at Ben-Gurion Airport showed Jews in Israel greeting their Ethiopian brothers with hugs, food and clothing.
Isaiah's prophecy was also correct in saying that the north (Russia) and the south (Ethiopia) would have to be persuaded to give up their Jews. Many countries pressured Russia for years before it allowed its Jews to leave. And Ethiopia had to be paid a ransom to allow its Jews to leave.
    Here is Isaiah 43:5-6
"Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, `Give them up!' and to the south, `Do not hold them back.' Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth…"

END TIME PROPHECIES FOR THE WHOLE WORLD.

    1) The Gospel will be preached to the entire world
    Bible passage: Matthew 24:14
    Recorded: about 30 AD
    To be fulfilled: End Times
In Matthew 24:14, the Bible says that the Gospel, which is the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, will be preached throughout the world. The Bible also says that when this happens, the end times will be upon us. To some extent, the Bible has been preached throughout the world for a long time. But now, with the increasing, worldwide availability of television and the Internet, there is greater potential for the Gospel to be preached to everyone, everywhere.
    Here is Matthew 24:14
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

    2. The world would be able to simultaneously witness events
    Bible passage: Revelation 11:9-10
Written: sometime between 54 and 95 AD
    To be fulfilled: End Times
In Revelation 11:9-10, the Bible gives a prophecy that has not yet been fulfilled. But, perhaps for the first time in history, it can be fulfilled in a literal sense. The prophecy says that people all over the world will be able to simultaneously witness a particular event (the death of two prophets). This of course would have been difficult to do before the popularization of television and the Internet. But it is now common for people worldwide to simultaneously witness events via television and the Internet.
    Here is Revelation 11:9-10
For three and a half days men from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial. The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.

    3. Zechariah foreshadowed modern warfare
    Bible passage: Zechariah 14:12
Written: between 520 and 518 BC
    To be fulfilled: End Times
In Zechariah, chapter 14, the prophet says a time will come when nations gather to attack Jerusalem. In Zechariah 14:12, the prophet says the nations that fight against Jerusalem will be struck with a "plague" that will cause their flesh to rot while they are still standing. This would be a fitting description for modern warfare if it were described by a person who lived 2500 years ago, as Zechariah did. Chemical weapons are capable of causing rapid deterioration of flesh. And a blast of heat from a nuclear weapon could have a similar affect. Some Bible scholars believe that this plague could refer to a supernatural event from God to protect the Holy Land.
    Here is Zechariah 14:12
This is the plague with which the Lord will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.

    4. Many people will go to Jerusalem to seek God's favor
    Bible passage: Zechariah 8:22
Written: between 520 and 518 BC
    To be fulfilled: End Times
In Zechariah 8:22, the prophet said 2500 years ago that a time will come when many people go to Jerusalem to seek and honor God. This prophecy has been at least partially fulfilled already. The Jews recaptured Jerusalem during the Six Day War in 1967. Since then, people from around the world tour Jerusalem to visit sites that played a key role in the history of Judaism and Christianity. Jerusalem is also an important city to Muslims.
    Here is Zechariah 8:22
And many peoples and powerful nations will come to Jerusalem to seek the Lord Almighty and to entreat him."

    5. Book of Revelation envisioned an army of 200 million
    Bible passage: Revelation 9:16
Written: sometime between 54 and 95 AD
    To be fulfilled: End Times
In Revelation 9:16, the Bible says that an army of 200 million will one day march toward Israel. Of course, this prophecy hasn't been fulfilled yet, at least not literally. But, as the world's population rises above 6 billion, it is increasingly possible for a coalition of countries to amass an army of 200 million, and this would have been have been unthinkable even 100 years ago.
    Here is Revelation 9:16
The number of the mounted troops was two hundred million. I heard their number.

    6. The troops would cross the Euphrates
    Bible passage: Revelation 16:12
Written: sometime between 54 and 95 AD
    To be fulfilled: End Times
In Revelation 16:12, the Bible says there will come a time when the Euphrates River becomes dry so that an army can cross it and march into Armageddon, which is a place in Israel. When the book of Revelation was written 1900 years ago, it would have taken a great natural disaster, or a great amount of labor to divert the flow of the Euphrates so that an army could cross it. (In 539 BC, Cyrus and his army diverted the flow so his troops could march across the riverbed and conquer Babylon). But, today, there are a series of dams that would make it much easier to divert the flow of the powerful river.
    Here is Revelation 16:12
The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East.

    7. People would be forced to receive the mark of the beast
    Bible passage: Revelation 13:16-18
Written: sometime between 54 and 95 AD
    To be fulfilled: End Times
In Revelation 13:16-18, the Bible talks of a time when a powerful leader would force people to "receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark." When the book of Revelation was written about 1900 years ago, it would have been nearly impossible for a world leader to force everyone to receive such a mark. But, today, with modern technology, it would be much easier. Today, for example, it would be possible to implant under a person's skin a small microchip that could be used like a credit card.
    Here is Revelation 13:16-18
He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.

FULFILLED PROPHECY: Evidence for the Reliability of the Bible
    by Hugh Ross, Ph.D.

Unique among all books ever written, the Bible accurately foretells specific events-in detail-many years, sometimes centuries, before they occur. Approximately 2500 prophecies appear in the pages of the Bible, about 2000 of which already have been fulfilled to the letter—no errors. (The remaining 500 or so reach into the future and may be seen unfolding as days go by.) Since the probability for any one of these prophecies having been fulfilled by chance averages less than one in ten (figured very conservatively) and since the prophecies are for the most part independent of one another, the odds for all these prophecies having been fulfilled by chance without error is less than one in 102000 (that is 1 with 2000 zeros written after it)!

God is not the only one, however, who uses forecasts of future events to get people's attention. Satan does, too. Through clairvoyants (such as Jeanne Dixon and Edgar Cayce), mediums, spiritists, and others, come remarkable predictions, though rarely with more than about 60 percent accuracy, never with total accuracy. Messages from Satan, furthermore, fail to match the detail of Bible prophecies, nor do they include a call to repentance.

The acid test for identifying a prophet of God is recorded by Moses in Deuteronomy 18:21-22. According to this Bible passage (and others), God's prophets, as distinct from Satan's spokesmen, are 100 percent accurate in their predictions. There is no room for error.

As economy does not permit an explanation of all the Biblical prophecies that have been fulfilled, what follows in a discussion of a few that exemplify the high degree of specificity, the range of projection, and/or the "supernature" of the predicted events. Readers are encouraged to select others, as well, and to carefully examine their historicity.

    (1) Some time before 500 B.C. the prophet Daniel proclaimed that Israel's long-awaited Messiah would begin his public ministry 483 years after the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem (Daniel 9:25-26). He further predicted that the Messiah would be "cut off," killed, and that this event would take place prior to a second destruction of Jerusalem. Abundant documentation shows that these prophecies were perfectly fulfilled in the life (and crucifixion) of Jesus Christ. The decree regarding the restoration of Jerusalem was issued by Persia's King Artaxerxes to the Hebrew priest Ezra in 458 B.C., 483 years later the ministry of Jesus Christ began in Galilee. (Remember that due to calendar changes, the date for the start of Christ's ministry is set by most historians at about 26 A.D. Also note that from 1 B.C. to 1 A.D. is just one year.) Jesus' crucifixion occurred only a few years later, and about four decades later, in 70 A.D. came the destruction of Jerusalem by Titus.

(Probability of chance fulfillment = 1 in 100,000.)*

    (2) In approximately 700 B.C. the prophet Micah named the tiny village of Bethlehem as the birthplace of Israel's Messiah (Micah 5:2). The fulfillment of this prophecy in the birth of Christ is one of the most widely known and widely celebrated facts in history.

(Probability of chance fulfillment = 1 in 100,000.)

    (3) In the fifth century B.C. a prophet named Zechariah declared that the Messiah would be betrayed for the price of a slave—thirty pieces of silver, according to Jewish law-and also that this money would be used to buy a burial ground for Jerusalem's poor foreigners (Zechariah 11:12-13). Bible writers and secular historians both record thirty pieces of silver as the sum paid to Judas Iscariot for betraying Jesus, and they indicate that the money went to purchase a "potter's field," used—just as predicted—for the burial of poor aliens (Matthew 27:3-10).

(Probability of chance fulfillment = 1 in 100,000,000,000.)

    (4) Some 400 years before crucifixion was invented, both Israel's King David and the prophet Zechariah described the Messiah's death in words that perfectly depict that mode of execution. Further, they said that the body would be pierced and that none of the bones would be broken, contrary to customary procedure in cases of crucifixion (Psalm 22 and 34:20; Zechariah 12:10). Again, historians and New Testament writers confirm the fulfillment: Jesus of Nazareth died on a Roman cross, and his extraordinarily quick death eliminated the need for the usual breaking of bones. A spear was thrust into his side to verify that he was, indeed, dead.

(Probability of chance fulfillment = 1 in 10,000,000,000,000.)

    (5) The prophet Isaiah foretold that a conqueror named Cyrus would destroy seemingly impregnable Babylon and subdue Egypt along with most of the rest of the known world. This same man, said Isaiah, would decide to let the Jewish exiles in his territory go free without any payment of ransom (Isaiah 44:28; 45:1; and 45:13). Isaiah made this prophecy 150 years before Cyrus was born, 180 years before Cyrus performed any of these feats (and he did, eventually, perform them all), and 80 years before the Jews were taken into exile.

(Probability of chance fulfillment = 1 in 1,000,000,000,000,000.)

    (6) Mighty Babylon, 196 miles square, was enclosed not only by a moat, but also by a double wall 330 feet high, each part 90 feet thick. It was said by unanimous popular opinion to be indestructible, yet two Bible prophets declared its doom. These prophets further claimed that the ruins would be avoided by travelers, that the city would never again be inhabited, and that its stones would not even be moved for use as building material (Isaiah 13:17-22 and Jeremiah 51:26, 43). Their description is, in fact, the well-documented history of the famous citadel.

(Probability of chance fulfillment = 1 in 1,000,000,000.)

    (7) The exact location and construction sequence of Jerusalem's nine suburbs was predicted by Jeremiah about 2600 years ago. He referred to the time of this building project as "the last days," that is, the time period of Israel's second rebirth as a nation in the land of Palestine (Jeremiah 31:38-40). This rebirth became history in 1948, and the construction of the nine suburbs has gone forward precisely in the locations and in the sequence predicted.

(Probability of chance fulfillment = 1 in 1,000,000,000,000,000,000.)

    (8) The prophet Moses foretold (with some additions by Jeremiah and Jesus) that the ancient Jewish nation would be conquered twice and that the people would be carried off as slaves each time, first by the Babylonians (for a period of 70 years), and then by a fourth world kingdom (which we know as Rome). The second conqueror, Moses said, would take the Jews captive to Egypt in ships, selling them or giving them away as slaves to all parts of the world. Both of these predictions were fulfilled to the letter, the first in 607 B.C. and the second in 70 A.D. God's spokesmen said, further, that the Jews would remain scattered throughout the entire world for many generations, but without becoming assimilated by the peoples or of other nations, and that the Jews would one day return to the land of Palestine to re-establish for a second time their nation (Deuteronomy 29; Isaiah 11:11-13; Jeremiah 25:11; Hosea 3:4-5 and Luke 21:23-24).

This prophetic statement sweeps across 3500 years of history to its complete fulfillment—in our lifetime.

(Probability of chance fulfillment = 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000,000.)

    (9) Jeremiah predicted that despite its fertility and despite the accessibility of its water supply, the land of Edom (today a part of Jordan) would become a barren, uninhabited wasteland (Jeremiah 49:15-20; Ezekiel 25:12-14). His description accurately tells the history of that now bleak region.

(Probability of chance fulfillment = 1 in 100,000.)

    (10) Joshua prophesied that Jericho would be rebuilt by one man. He also said that the man's eldest son would die when the reconstruction began and that his youngest son would die when the work reached completion (Joshua 6:26). About five centuries later this prophecy found its fulfillment in the life and family of a man named Hiel (I Kings 16:33-34).

(Probability of chance fulfillment = 1 in 10~).

    (11) The day of Elijah's supernatural departure from Earth was predicted unanimously—and accurately, according to the eye-witness account—by a group of fifty prophets (II Kings 2:3-11).

(Probability of chance fulfillment = 1 in 1,000,000,000).

    (12) Jahaziel prophesied that King Jehoshaphat and a tiny band of men would defeat an enormous, well-equipped, well-trained army without even having to fight. Just as predicted, the King and his troops stood looking on as their foes were supernaturally destroyed to the last man (II Chronicles 20).

(Probability of chance fulfillment = 1 in 100,000,000).

    (13) One prophet of God (unnamed, but probably Shemiah) said that a future king of Judah, named Josiah, would take the bones of all the occultic priests (priests of the "high places") of Israel's King Jeroboam and burn them on Jeroboam's altar (I Kings 13:2 and II Kings 23:15-18). This event occurred approximately 300 years after it was foretold.

(Probability of chance fulfillment = 1 in 10,000,000,000,000).

Since these thirteen prophecies cover mostly separate and independent events, the probability of chance occurrence for all thirteen is about 1 in 10138 (138 equals the sum of all the exponents of 10 in the probability estimates above). For the sake of putting the figure into perspective, this probability can be compared to the statistical chance that the second law of thermodynamics will be reversed in a given situation (for example, that a gasoline engine will refrigerate itself during its combustion cycle or that heat will flow from a cold body to a hot body)—that chance = 1 in 1080. Stating it simply, based on these thirteen prophecies alone, the Bible record may be said to be vastly more reliable than the second law of thermodynamics. Each reader should feel free to make his own reasonable estimates of probability for the chance fulfillment of the prophecies cited here. In any case, the probabilities deduced still will be absurdly remote.

Given that the Bible proves so reliable a document, there is every reason to expect that the remaining 500 prophecies, those slated for the "time of the end," also will be fulfilled to the last letter (see Signs of the End, Tribulation Dooms, and The Rapture Promise). Who can afford to ignore these coming events, much less miss out on the immeasurable blessings offered to anyone and everyone who submits to the control of the Bible's author, Jesus Christ? (See the paper entitled Grace for a list of these benefits.) Would a reasonable person take lightly God's warning of judgment for those who reject what they know to be true about Jesus Christ and the Bible, or who reject Jesus' claim on their lives?

Now is the day of salvation! Now is the time of God's favor! Please do not let it go by without further consideration.

*The estimates of probability included herein come from a group of secular research scientists. As an example of their method of estimation, consider their calculations for this first prophecy cited:
    • • Since the Messiah's ministry could conceivably begin in any one of about 5000 years, there is, then, one chance in about 5000 that his ministry could begin in 26 A.D.

      • Since the Messiah is God in human form, the possibility of his being killed is considerably low, say less than one chance in 10.

      • Relative to the second destruction of Jerusalem, this execution has roughly an even chance of occurring before or after that event, that is, one chance in 2.

Hence, the probability of chance fulfillment for this prophecy is 1 in 5000 x 10 x 2, which is 1 in 100,000, or 1 in 105.

Bible prophecy is part of God's revelation of his will and purpose to humanity. In Bible prophecy, God reveals that human sinfulness is indeed forgiven through repentance and faith in the saving work of Jesus Christ. Bible prophecy proclaims God as Sovereign Judge of all, assures humanity of his love, mercy, and faithfulness, and motivates the believer to live a godly life in Jesus Christ. (Luke 24:44-48; Isaiah 46:9-11; Daniel 4:17; Jude 14-15; 2 Peter 3:14)
