bakit lumipat si sam marata......vital cog ng dlsu yan diba?
Hope UP MBT has something stored under their sleeves para naman they can have more that 2 wins. Or worse, back to nil. oh well, fight pa rin!![]()
It's all quiet at the Diliman campus right now. I guess the MBT is about to come up w/ a surprise. They have nothing to lose. They're not being pressured to come up with a winning streak. Also, last season, Jet Manuel and Paolo Romero have shown a lot of promise. I don't think they're going to follow the footsteps of Migs de Asis and Martin Reyes.

just win as many games....sana kahit middle of the pack lang...![]()
I haven't been following the UP Maroons closely in the past couple of years like I used to, but from the line-up this season they sure are loaded with "veterans". I sure hope this veteran line-up would translate into more wins and hopefully a crack at the F4 (much like the veteran-laden 2004 Maroons = Marvin Cruz, Nestor David, Abby Santos, Jireh Ibanez, Cervantes falling 1-win shy of the semis).
With or without height issues, ang tingin kong kailangan nilang i-address is yung style of play nila - ever since I've watched the Maroons they're always turnover-prone, they have the tendency to fall in love with treys, and madalas parang naglalaro ng "takot" (madaling ma-rattle/ma-pressure). The coaching staff need to address these issues more than personnel matters IMO. What's the use of having good/great players if there's no established system which will stabilize the team's play, right?
Oh Lord anything but the embarrassing Big Fat Egg.
Not so good news: Center-forward Mark Juruena is out (relegated to Team B)
Point guard Mikee Reyes is out (injured)

Eligibility of UP’s 6-5 US rookie challenged

ONLY the eligibility of an American rookie from the University of the Philippines stands in question just a week before the UAAP men’s basketball tournament fires off.
Matthew Ball, a 6-foot-5 rookie from Canyon High School in California, has yet to complete the documents the league requires from foreign students.
“He can play but they (Maroons) have to take the risk of their games getting forfeited if they cannot present the documents on time,” said league president Nilo Ocampo after yesterday’s meeting at the MOA Arena Annex Building.
Ball has yet to submit a certificate of live birth duly authenticated by the consular office of the Philippine embassy in the United States and an Alien Certificate of Registration.
“They have the whole of first round to complete his papers,” said league secretary-treasurer Junel Baculi. “But if they want to play safe, they can just line him up and not field him.”
Unlike previous seasons, the league only has a lean seven-player cast of foreigners that includes Far Eastern U’s Christian Sentcheu (Cameroonian) and Anthony Hargrove (American), National U’s Henri Atanga Betayene and Emmanuel Mbe (Cameroonians), UP’s Alinko Mbah (Nigerian) and University of Santo Tomas’ Karim Abdul (Cameroonian).
All other six have passed the screening.
Season 75 kicks off on July 14 with host NU battling University of the East at 2 p.m., right after a one-hour opening rite at MOA Arena.
FEU clashes with UST at 4 p.m.
Ateneo open its bid for a fifth straight championship the next day against Adamson at 4 p.m., after the game between La Salle and UP.
