Best and Worst Call Center Recruitment Experiences?

I know most of you applied in different call centers... Post all our best and worst recruitment experiences on this thread...


Here's my own list -

Best -

Teletech - one day processing. if ur lucky u start the next day....
Convergys - same one day processing as long as you come early and pass the test you get JO right away.
IBM Dashk - one day processing as well. Nice waiting area too.


Worst -

Clientlogic - my friend actually have to wait up to 3am for final interview. I hope this interviewer be more considerate, knowing most of them was there from 9 in the morning. During the online test... lot of system crash and some of the applicant has to comeback and re-take the exam... sucks

the very worst experience for me was in INFONXX in Sta Rosa. it was for a Team Manager position. i got there around 11pm and was finally interviewed around 5pm? and then final interview at 6pm. they were so disorganized (and obviously undermanned) and could not give the applicants a timeline of when we would get our turn. i only stayed that long because i drove so far to get to that darn place, sayang ang gas! after the final interview (with an american girl who wouldnt even look at me the whole time, she was typing on her laptop) and this indian guy, i wasnt even told what to expect next. they just shook my hand and showed me out. i waited along with some other applicants at the reception - there were only a couple of us left. we had to knock on one of the HR room doors just for someone to tell us what to do! yun pala we were not shortlisted, they did not even bother to tell us! but you know what, i dont even feel bad that i didnt get the job, i would hate to work in such a hell hole!

my worst recruitment was at eperformax a few years ago. I was being interviewed by the recruiter (before final interview) she was looking at my resume while we were talking about my job experience. I mention 1 of the call centers i worked at but she could not find it in my resume. so what i did was i sttod up and looked at my resume and pointed it out to her. she gave me a very bad look ang said in a stern voice "would you please sit down". I sat down for a few seconds then stood up got my resume and walked out.

Worst? Wala pa e. First time ko pa lang mag-apply sa CC.

Best sa PeopleSupport..sobra friendly ng mga HR peeps..parang bestfriends kayo..haha..and hindi lang pakitang tao yun kase maski nsa production ka na mababait ka pa din..besides..ang ganda nung nag final interview sakin..hehe..

worst? addforce for the shell shared services account..sobrang dami processes..tapos sobra hype nila yung account..na kesyo 25k ang basic salary..sa australia or singapore daw training..etc. etc..i ended up not pushing through with it..

be courteous naman, to all recruitment specialists, para maging positive and worthwhile, ang pagaapply sa mga call centers niyo.

and sa sutherland, 9th floor, export bank bldg, makati, nagapply ako dito, narinig ko sa isang employee dun, ang lakas ng pagkasabi "ang dame applikante, ang dame walang trabaho...", insulting o hinde? sa akin, sensitivities insulting, ma swerte yung babae na yun kase nakapasok siya, paano naman ang naghihintay na makapasok?

sana hinde maging mayayabang ang mga call center agents, pinahiram lang sa niyo ang trabaho niyo.

This gay recruitment staff called me up and told me to come for tha interview in STRICTLY BUSINESS ATTIRE. And I did, of course. Only to be taken on a conference room to be interviewed from a telephone-conference call from the US.

Then tha second and final interview. Again, I was told tha same thing. But this time, I asked " is it going to be a phone interview?". But tha gay-HR dude said " I can't disclose it. Sorry."

WHAT THA...?!?!?!?!

So I dressed up...and again it's for a telephone interview from tha US...its not even a video/webcam thingy...just plain avaya stuff. Mind ya, after that, there wasn't any upfront interviews anymore from any local staff. Again, me alone in a conference room with a phone in front of me.

I mean, I don't mind dressing up for it...but...ahh, ya know what I mean. I just found it rather odd and funny. But tha rest is ok. It's relatively a good company.

Anyways, I got hired...and tha rest is history. Sorry, this doesn't make up for either a good or bad interview experience...whatever!

Hi! Nagpunta ko sa IBM DAksh at nagApply ako pero hindi ko gusto ang nangyari!

Si Miss K___! Napakabiased niya! Walanghiya! Pakitang tao lang yung pagiging friendly kuno niya. Sa initial interview kc namin, may dalawa dun kapwa ko aplikante, yung isa may experience na sa call center ng anim na taon, at yung isa galing ibang bansa. Sobrang curious as in at nanlalaki ang mga mata niya habang iniinterview niya yung dalawang yun, ibig kong sabihin ay PROSPECT na niya agad to kaya ibinasura nalang ako--- ako na medyo kinabahan habang ipinapakilala ko ang sarili ko sa interview skin.

Natapos na yung initial interview! Pinagtake na ng exam at kasama AKO!

Alam mo naman sa sarili mo kung magiging bagsak ka o hindi sa EXAM di ba?

Natapos ko yung Exam consisting of Logic, English(Grammar, Tenses, Article “a, an, and the”, Identifying errors), Customer Sales Exam, Technical Exam, at Typing Exam(Typing Master). Binigyan ko na kayo ng ideya sa Exam…

Well siguradong sigurado ko na NAIPASA KO *** exam na yun! I swear kahit mamatay man si Jesus Christ! (hindi ko isusugal ang pangalan ni Jesus kung may pagdududa ko sa sinasabi ko).

Yung dalawang kapwa aplikante na nabanggit ko medyo ******* ***** pa nga sa instruction during Exam namin e. Yung isa Scroll Down lang, nde pa Na-gets *** instruction. Yung isa naman imbes na 2 minutes lang sa Keytest, iset ba naman ng 1 hour? Iyon tuloy tuloy siya nagtytype non-stop…

Pero bakit ganun?

Pinaupo kami sa lobby pagkatapos nun, at mya mya lang sandali TINAWAG na Yung DALAWANG YUN para sa Final interview!

Ako? Nilapitan ako nung isang babae, nakasimangot at Ako ay Pinauwi na! Binigyan ako na papel na nagfailed daw ako! WTF!

NAPULITIKA AKO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MASAKIT sa akin YUNG GINAWA NILANG YUN!

Kung bagsak ako sa initial interview, e di sana hindi na lang ako pinagtake ng Exam?

At pati yung mga guardya nila mga KUPALOGS! TODO KAPKAP pagpasok at pati Paglabas! ****** naman! Kung sa Mall, Grocery at Bookstore nde ganun kahigpit, e ano naman ang NANAKAWIN palabas nung opis nila? Yung Sofa ba? O *** Giant Screen TV nila? Pampasabog? Pano? Kung makaasta parang sila mayAri ng buong building AS IN!

i would have to say applying for sutherland is one of the worst experiences i ever had. tsk tsk. they will surely test your patience.

Guys, ingat na lang kayo if you're applying at 3i, lalo na doon sa interviewer nilang bakla na semikalbo at may goatee. The gay interviewers there are very rude and would argue with you during the interview, saying they are just testing your logical reasoning.

I know two other applicants doon na nabastos ng mga baklang interviewers nila. Feeling magagaling ang mga bakla doon. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against gays, pero to be rude to applicants will just drive applicants away from you, the headhunters and recruiters in general. Because of my experience, I will never again apply in headhunters or recruiters. Didiretso na ako sa mga call centers. Remember, applicants are your bread and butter, sila ang bumubuhay sa nyo. Without them, wala din kayo so be nice to them.

1. ACS-pumunta ako ng 1 pm, 6 pm may job offer na ako pero di ko tinanggap
kasi contractual lang.maganda position and starting , level 2 tech support tapos 18 k pero after 6 months di ka pa regular kasi per project basis ka pero as
far as recruitment is concerned walang hassle

2. ICT- friday 5 pm ako nag apply ...di na ako inabot ng final interview kasi 7 pm na kaya pinabalik na lang ako ng monday 1 pm for final interview at nakapasa naman then job offer agad tapos wednesday start na ng training

3. ETEL- kahit may konting katagalan ang recruitment nila at least may sistema. first step initial interview kung pasado ka next step is computer exam/iq then pag pumasa ka final interview then job offer pero kung sablay ka
konti sa com skills ndorse ka na sa libis for language training but its not a guarantee na pasok ka na kelangan makapasa ka pa rin but as far as recruitment is concerned may sistema siya

worst experience
1. HSBC-pinapunta ako ng 1 pm for second interview daw.so sinabi ko sa receptionist may sked ako for 2nd interview at 1pm. antay lang daw ako.buti na
lang andun din kasama ko at may kasama ako naghintay.then 4 pm na wala pa rin twag kaya lumapit ako sa receptionist kasi sabi ko may sked ako 1 pm
bat di pa rin ako nattwag. yun pala iba na ang naka duty na receptionist at di kame na endorse sa pumalit sa kanya. kung di pa ako lumapit ng 4 pm baka
di na kame na interview. di man lang nag sorry yung receptionist kahit 3 hrs
na kameng naghintay. oo nga, wala kameng k mag demand kasi applicant lang kame pero sana at least kahit man lang mag sorry siya sa haba ng pag antay namin. thats a sign of unprofessionalism.

2. RMH- ang tagal maghintay kasi bawat process aabutin ng at least 2 hours bago ka umabot. pag nakapasa ka sa initial interview antay ka ng 2 hours for
listening skills. pag nakapasa ka sa listening skills antay ka ulit ng 2 hours for
computer exam. pag nakapasa ka sa computer exam antay ka ulit ng 2 hours for second interview and so on and so forth. kaya yung mga walang tiyaga
mag antay umuwi na lang

I applied as a Graphic Designer/Illustrator position for this call center, they called and scheduled me for an interview in one summer night at 7 pm in the year 2006. I arrived at their office at 6:55, and lo and behold, nobody was in the office! Not even a rat! I waited for another 15 minutes, still i did not see just even a shadow of a ghost!

coolest ever, interviewers were very articulate about what they were saying, i felt like that i really belong to this place. kudos to them.



WORST - Ambergris Solutions - Market Market recruitment site.

mabilis nga yung proseso. pero mukhang kung saan saan *** nila kinuha yung mga interviewers nila . tsk tsk. yung nag initial interview sakin kinakabahan pa, nanginginig at nag kakamali pa sa mga sinasabi nya. baka bago *** hihi. lol

Someone PM'ed me asking if my experience with 3i was true, this was my reply to the guy and I'm posting it here for everyone's benefit:

That's true. The interviewers there will engage you in a debate, saying they are just testing your logical reasoning. Our debate became heated to the point that I hinted to the interviwer that he was not actually interviewing me, but arguing with me and competing with me. Medyo natauhan yung gay interviewer, pero I thought I offended him, and he got even with me by saying he would further evaluate my application, which simply means that I failed the interview and he was not endorsing me.

I suggest you go directly to big call centers, since most of the headhunters today endorse applicants to big call centers like hsbc, convergys, peoplesupport, sitel, htmt, pacific hub and the other big call centers. It's a waste of time to go to these headhunters since you will undergo a different set of exams and interviews anyway to the call centers where you will be endorsed to. Sayang lang yung time and money mo.I've been in the call center industry for three years kaya believe me, you are better off by going directly to call centers.

(Geeze, I came from the biggest call centers, like Convergys, Peoplesupport and JP Morgan, tapos babagsak lang ako sa isang small time company like 3i. I can't believe it.)
