Did it occur to you ang thought na kung mapagmahal, mabait, mapagpatawad, maunawain, etc. ang Diyos eh bakit ang kaparusahan sa mga taong nagkasala/magkakasala o sumuway sa kanyang mga kautusan eh everlasting na torture o pagpapahirap sa dagat-dagatang apoy (kung paniniwalaan natin ang mga nagsasabi ng ganito)?

Idagdag pang tao lang naman tayo, hindi perfect, at talagang prone to mistakes and bound to sin again and again?

Will God love to see man who sinned suffering for all eternity? Paano masasabing he is a loving, compassionate, forgiving God?

O depende ba doon sa tao kung talaga namang rebellious siya at di naman ito humihingi ng forgiveness kaya deserving lang siya na ma-torture forever in the lake of fire?

well dumadating talaga sa life ng isang tao that we enjoy sinning, doing the bad things pero time will come that you'll feel bored of living the bad life and the undeniable desire to renew life in God becomes your last option. it starts with repentence then turning away from sin and living the Good Life! Sarap nun pare!

    The Holy Quran 4:48:

"GOD DOES NOT FORGIVE IDOLATRY, but HE FORGIVES LESSER OFFENSES for whomever He wills. Anyone who sets up any idols beside God, has forged a horrendous offense."

    Emphasis mine.

God forgives anything else, except persistence in IDOLATRY!

But you have to keep in mind that the Bible was written by many different people, in different periods of time. They had different states of mind and different ideas on what and who God was. That's why some views of God in the Bible are different.

    Anyway.

God is forgiving and loving and caring. But he cannot do one thing for us. He cannot save us if we do not choose to be saved.

"The God who created us without us, cannot save us without us."

Actually, I had the same question about that years ago. If the span of our life is just a blink of an eye in eternity, why do sinners have to 'suffer for all eternity' based on a very, very, very short life. It's like I gave a man a life sentence because of one word he said when he was five years old.

Well, I just came up with one answer, but I'll keep that to myself na lang.

Yes, but if you turn the situation around...

you will only have to toil for a very short time, to be able to spend your eternity in Heaven.

i don't believe that god intends for man to suffer. but god granted us free will in order for us to make our own choices. and man must transcend his human condition (and frailties) and avoid sin so as to gain eternal life. it's not just about asking for forgiveness; it's about genuinely being repentant and seeking the Way, the Truth and the Life.

No, I don't believe a LOVING GOD would damn His beloved creation forever, for the rest of its existence.

What I do believe in is a creature, endowed with free will choosing its own condemnation after God's many attempts to show it the right choices. I believe we CHOOSE heaven or hell and death is only a finalization of this choice. In the face of our choice God is powerless, He can only insist that we take the right path but he can never take away that choice from us.
