^You're welcome. Dr. Tjmd and Dr. marbles are physicians, so they have a better understanding of this topic when compared to me.
UST has a very good hospital, which is staffed by highly competent doctors. You can have yourself treated there or UERM.

i have white spots on my throat. again. i had a similar dillema about 2 weeks ago. so i consulted my uncle who is an eent specialist. he prescribed clindamycin and kamillosan mouth spray. he also demanded for me to rest. as in rest. the oxidates (is that what you call them) disappeared. for the next 2 weeks my throat was spotless, totally immaculate. now, i have them again. as with the previous set, i dont have sore throat, no fever, no nothing. just these pathetic white spots. what causes these? they scare me. i dont want to go back to my uncle again. he does not make me pay. its embarassing. please help.
Cake, fruits, homemade pasta dish, pastries, ice cream, pizza, donuts... well, you get the point.
Also, please wait for the reply of the physicians.
i would suggest you go back to your uncle. If you visited another ENT and your uncle finds out about it, mas maiinis yun. For him you it would appear like you didn't like his advice.
Ask your uncle about getting a "grams stain or culture" of the white spots. This is of course just a suggestion. Your uncle still will know better as he has seen the white spots for himself.
and as SM mentioned, there is such a thing as giving "gifts" in exchange for service. I think there is such an ethical understanding (though i'am not sure). The exchange is that you can provide something of equal value to the service your uncle has rendered, which is in this case, something almost of equivalent to his professional fee. But then again, your uncle would probably be more happy to render a free service to a family member. If you were the doctor, i'm sure you would have done the same thing.
so,...i think uncle is waiting for you.
^probably not 'cause i'm again taking the penicillin capsule he prescribed to me and the mouth spray. i'm seeing results. i'm just wondering what triggers these oxidates? what are the usual causes?

I hear constant noises in my ear (like sirens, frog like sound, beeps) and it's very loud when there is no absolute noise, example at night. But I can't notice this at day time. Is there something wrong about my ear doc? Or it's just normal because my hearing is still okay.
That constant noises in your ear is what we call "tinnitus".
Tinnitus is often more noticeable when you go to bed at night because your surroundings are quieter. It could be caused by a variety of conditions; ear infections, trauma to the ear, "tutule"/earwax, medications, coffee , cigarette, alcohol and even hypertension.
Try to lessen your vices and if you can, try to sleep with your head slightly more elevated than usual (so that the blood flow to your head/ears will be lessened), relax your mind and body, and if this still doesn't work, create a small "noise" to divert or to make the tinnitus less noticeable (ie. turning the radio on at low volumes while you lull yourself to sleep).
You may also consult your ENT doctor for further evaluation especially if you have developed symptoms like nausea, vomiting, dizziness, loss of balance or persistent tinnitus even with the normal daytime noises.

Since your husband's work involves continuous talking over the phone it might be throat irritation or even a throat infection. Advise him to drink lots of fluids, especially water. I'd also advise voice rest, if he can afford to lessen his shifts/hours for a few days.
If he doesn't have phlegm, Solmux will not work. If later on, he develops phlegm and has difficulty coughing it out, then that's the time he can take Solmux.
Please do not give him antibiotics without being seen by a doctor.
If the cough is associated with pain when swallowing, fever, hoarseness, loss of appetite, body weakness, then it's most probably an infection.
He can consult their company physician if the problem persists.
I can breathe well enough with my nose, but sometimes it feels stuffy.
I have no cough, but have what I feel/think to be phlegm in my throat.
On occassion, I have some difficulty swallowing. But when eating or drinking, I don't have any of that problem.
I've tried strepsils and astring-o-sol but so far nothing has gotten rid of what may be phlegm in my throat.
Thank you for the information!
I turn-on the electric fan everynight to stop the "noise" and my always put pillow under my head when I sleep. Doc, I don't have any vices and I didn't notice any of the symptoms you said. My day-to-day life is normal I didn't notice any changes and I can hear clearly. Maybe I will should relax my mind and body and consult a ENT doctor.
nope. no smoke. no drink.
this thing happened.. or started happening.. around a week or two ago.
few months ago, i have difficulty in breathing. so i run to an ent doctor. i was diagnosed to have acid reflux. kaya daw nahihirapan akong huminga dahil iyong acid tumataas na sa hinihingahan ko. also, nakita niya na ang nose ko ay hindi straight. mas maluwag iyong isang nosetrils and sabi niya operation lang daw and solution pero hindi naman daw gaanong rush. so i took the prescribed medicines. motilium, etc. and until now, pabalik balik pa rin. that's why pag nararamdaman ko, i would take kremil s. and parang may nakabara sa throat ko pero wala naman lumalabas ns phelgm and palagi akong clogged nose. *** sinus ko ba ito? please help doc.
my email add is but_oka@yahoo.com or PM niyo ako. thanks in advance
I've tried menthol hard candies and fresh luya as candy but to no avail kaya i was forced to see an ent specialist. pagkasilip sa throat ko, namumula nga daw but i never heard her say namamaga. i was
given prescription, a throat spray (bawal yata magbanggit ng brand dito) pero pagdating ko sa botica the prescribed medicine o spray ay anti-inflammatory, not anti-redness which brings me back to my question.
thanks for any input. God bless!
Maybe the environment is also a factor .Yun ate ko kasi dati she lives with us, nung single pa. E house namin ma-dusty, kasi may bodega tapos may mga stocks, insects. Ibang stuff sa bahay medyo luma, so laging sipon dun, most of the time at night, laging barado ilong. Then after she got married, siyempre she moved na.
Hi there! i have been reading this forum and i felt the need to post my experience of the past 4 weeks. I'm hoping someone could give me any insight or what could be happening here.
I have been feeling as if something is stuck in my throat, small like a pill. I felt at the lower part of the throat. I have no pain at all. I have no difficulty in eating, drinking ,breathing or swallowing at all. If i think about this too much i also get the sensation. No ear pain no infection no headaches or nausea...just this bothersome need to clear my throat and feeling like something is there. I can't see any swelling of glands or visual lumps on my neck...no bloody phlem... nothing.
What could this be? In doing my research i came accross an article written by an MD stating that most throat cancers aren't felt co'z we have less sense of feeling in our throats, if we have feeling we would be gagging all the time even on our food.
But the thing is, some other sites i have gone to say that symptoms could be cancer. So i am confused. By the way im 28 of age. I'm understandably a bit freaked out on what this could be. Could anyone have experienced these very same symptoms? Give me any insight on what this could be?
