seriously speaking, sa tingin mo ba yung sinasabi mong marian gathering na yun eh walang benefit sa yo as a catholic? think!
yung ibang maysakit nagpupunta pa dun just to pray and asking for blessings na mapagaling sila. ikaw na walang problema sa buhay eh ayaw naman. c'mon pre! you can pray for yourself and for your family!

Palagay ko nawawala na tayo sa thread topic which is about the QUALITY of letran's education... these are some of my humble observations:

1. There is a lack of transparency with regard to LETRAN's financial standing... maraming anik anik sa pagkaubos ng pera sa letran (many point to the construction of letran bataan) pero mostly nanatili ito sa lebel ng tsismis dahil hindi nga nailalabas sa mga discussions. As students, we have the right to know about this because THIS IS OUR MONEY. As with any organization, its economic foundation ceratinly affect its overall dynamic (i.e. quality)

2. The loss of high caliber (read: quality) teachers are often blamed to Letran's low pay compared to other schools with the same tuition fee bracket. Also, the professors who have left always mention the Colegio's palakasan system (lead by LAO and ACERON) when it comes to promotions and appointments. Questionable policies like forced masses, highly structured examinations and no classes during basketball games turn off potentially good faculty.

3. Whatever they say, ACADEMIC FREEDOM is certainly not practiced here. Unlike other schools that view FREE SPEECH as a healthy part of an educational system, the Colegio admin often see it as "paninira" that should be silenced.

* WE cheered last year when letran won in the NCAA games and ate the lechon baka, etc . . . .
* attendance in 8 am masses, pag wala absent ka.

I find it really strange why some people DEFEND the Colegio admin - LAO, ACERON, ETC. -- without raising any counter arguments with the points raised and instead resort to juvenile remarks and character attacks... let's stay on the level of objectivity and sensibility folks... this is just a message board for crying out loud...

Why is it that if we have seminar or talks, we are not allowed to leave the hall for our NEXT CLASS? usually we have quizzes in another class or schedule, but we could not have it since we are "imprisoned" inside the hall to listen to long talks. example 1:30 - 3:00 pm ang class that requires our attendance for the seminar or talk, pero nag extend till 4 pm natatapos. we have another class at 3:00 - 4:30 at may quiz pa. This is really a problem. WE are not excused for the quizzes.

9. Why is it that the in charge of the seminar and talk would always reason out that THE DEAN SENT THEM MEMOS ALREADY FOR THIS AFFAIR, but when we ask our teachers who gave us a quiz, WALANG INFO NAKARATING SA KANYA???

you ask faculty in CLAS: who are the spies inside the faculty room. Those sane teachers will answer most likely that the SPIES ARE . . . . LUCY ARGUELLES AND EVA demonyita ABARDO. We got this info when we were dining with some faculty who happened to be our good and credible teachers. They are tiptoeing if these two faculty are around!!! SILA ANG MGA SIP-SIP! AHAS!

you can't blame people graduating dahil minsan 4th year na sila saka nila mare realize ang BAHO ng LETRAN... magaling kasi mang UTO ang admin kasi puro the good and the beautiful things lang ang maririnig mo sa kanila, parang walang problema

Letranites, what can you say about the quality of education Letran is offering? Is it good? bad? why?

For me as far as the CA area is concerned (which is widely regarded as the BEST program in LETRAN), behind pa rin in terms of quality kasi most of the teachers have no MASTERAL degrees... mabibilang sa darili kung sino meron. Moreover, karamihan sa kanila hindi nagtatagal bec. of low pay (despite the high tuition), questionable policies esp. when it comes to examinations, contractualization (no full time teacher in CA)... this is the feedback I get from them....

kamusta naman **** ang mga FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT. Grad ako ng FM at talaga nga namang kulang na kulang sa suporta.. kulang nga din ng quality professors.. maganda pa naman sana ang kurso.

Tama ka kuya. Gusto ko rin sana yung FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT sa Letran kaso walang suporta. Parang isolated sa colegio ang fm.. umalis nalang tuloy ako at lumipat sa "green side".... sana mapansin ng admin ang FM may friends pa akong mga naiwan dun!
