i'm having a CBC test next week, does hyperthyroidism will include in this test?

Hi guys. I just had my pre-employment medical exam today. Well, it showed that I have an elevated cholesterol level and SGPT (200+). The doctor gave me prescriptions to lower them.

I'm not quite worried for cholesterol since I usually have a healthy diet and slowly I'm giving up red meat. But I couldn't resist the lechon cebu brought by my officemate yesterday. In due time it think it will normalize.

My main concern is on my SGPT. And I am wondering since I had a whole abdomen ultrasound last month and everything is normal. If after taking the medication, my SGPT level will not go down as expected will that be a reason for me not to get hired (local)?

    Thanks.

I don't think it's a reason for you not to get hired, especially since your liver ultrasound is okay. You should have the liver enzymes repeated later i.e. have them monitored. Also, was a hepatitis profile done?

ano po kaya ibig sabihn nito

"Lymphocytosis and EosinophiliaL Neutropenia ,repeat CBC to verify neutropenia , Eosinophilia"

  5. #165
Lymphocytosis means an increase in the total number of lymphocytes, a kind of white blood cell (the cells involved in immune defense). Neutropenia and eosinophilia mean a decrease in neutrophils and increase in eosinophils respectively, which are also kinds of white blood cells. These findings aren't specific for anything but a repeat CBC should be done.

any doctor who can interpret xray image? The results indicate that suspicious densities are seen in both upper lobes. I can provide you with an image file.

There is no need to send the image as an official interpretation is already present. This is more or less above board.

Suspicious densities in the upper lobe more often than not is suggestive for a pulmonary tuberculosis. Most TB bacilli stay in the upper lobe of the lung where the oxygen content is higher favoring its growth.

If you have had a previous TB treatment. I suggest that you retrieve your previous xrays and compare the old film with the new. If there is no significant change, then it is assumed that all you have are scars from your previous TB infection which have been treated.

If you have not undergone TB treatment yet, you might be worked-up with sputum examination and eventually have treatment started.

The xray findings are permanent as they will be scars after treatment. This is the reason why it is encouraged to keep films or digital copies of your previous xrays so that comparisons may be done.

Yes, it's an established part of the employment process in the Philippines. As how this came to be, I have no idea. However some of the examinations done here make sense when put in context. For example, since PTB is highly prevalent then a chest x-ray is used as a screening exam.

I just had my pre employment exam and was deferred due possible hypertension. is it better to consult cardiologist or internist within the medical clinic where my medical exam was done or should i look for less expensive doctor? Will I undergo another series of test other than taking my bp? Kasi kung sa clinic where the pre employment exam was done, they have my records na? Can you recommend a clinic or doctor for my case? Thank you so much!

Guys and Docs question lang po, ano po ba ang acceptable na FBS for an applicant who is diabetic. My friend is very depressed right now because of this.

    Maraming salamat sa sasagot!

<<<<<<<<guys i need help, nag pa medical test ako kanina for my pre-employment requirements with SM. The clinic nurse told me to get another X-ray that same day but from a different angle which was Apicolordotic view. My question is what are the chances that i have something in my lungs? Or can the second x-ray actually reveal that i have nothing in my lungs? i hope you guys reply. im dying here. i badly want this job and have worked for it really hard. P.S. im a regular smoker for about 4 years now and im only 21. thanks
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<ganun din nangyari sakin before. >>>>>>>>>>>>

Ano kaya yun? So cleared na ako. Nag yoyosi din ako, I was 23 that time.

Madalas ba magkamali ang X-ray machine?>>>>>>>>>>>

parehas tayong tatlo ganyan din ang ng yari sa akin! suspicious densities are seen in both upper lobes.... tapos Apicolordotic view sabi ng doctor ko and then sobra yung time na yun gusto ko na tumalon sa high way.. feeling ko my life is over,.. after 3 days nag pa xray uli ako (Apicolordotic view) tapos sabi ng doctor ko bumalik daw ako para malaman kung PTB nga... dahil pag uusapan pa daw nila un sa hospital kung ano yung lumabas. ayun sabi ng doctor ko eh negative naman daw ako sa ptb ok daw ang chest xrays ko...pero hangang ngayon sobrang hindi pa rin mawala sa isip ko yung na kita sa chest x ray ko.. pero happy na rin kahit papano.. sa sinabi ng doctor ko kahit na kukulitan na sa akin.. 2 years na rin ako nag smoke eh.

I'm planning to apply for a job in a call center. The medical examination requirement worries me because I might have Bartholin's gland cyst. I haven't had it checked-up to make sure, I only look through the internet to know what it might be. The thing is I don't have money to get it treated. That's also why I need the job: so that I can attend to my medical concerns. I've also been diagnosed with Lupus (systemic), 7 years ago. Would that also be an issue in my medical examination? I haven't experienced any flares with regards to Lupus.

    ...continuation from above

By reading through other forums regarding medical examinations in call centers, it was mentioned that companies don't want to have to pay for some procedures/operations that an employee might need if something comes up in the medical exam. That's why they don't hire some applicants. It may seem impractical, but I don't really mind if the company doesn't want to pay for any procedures i might need, because, at this point, I don't really think they owe me anything to be concerned about it. It's just that I really need the job, even if I didn't have any medical concerns, I'm in real need of a job right now. I don't mind if I have to save every cent I earn just to finance my medical concerns.

I'm in a real dilemma because I need a job to attend to my health, while my health might be cause for me not to get hired for a job.

With regards to my Lupus mentioned in the above post, I think I'm aware enough of my body to assess whether or not I can handle a call center job. I know not to abuse my body. I don't drink or smoke. I know to get plenty of rest and eat right. So I think I can handle the rotating shifts in call centers. Will the HRs or Medical staff understand that if I apply for the job?

Anong ibig sabihin niyan?

As long as you have proof that you have been treated and that you do not have the infection anymore, it will not be a cause for your non-employment

    hi doc.

i've been working overseas for 6 yrs n it would be my first time to have my PEME dito sa pinas. i had my medical in dubai and just recently in singapore fortunately basic lang ang mga medical nila.

i'm a diabetic at na mamanage ko nmn ang sugar levels ko. pero recently ngp blood chem ako dito sa pinas and my creatinine level is above the normal range. 1.7 yung values at slightly above normal range din ang BUN ko. i had these tests nga *** kc nilagnat ako ng isang linggo due to an infection. i was not given any medication by the doctor at sinabi na damihan ko lang daw ang tubig na iniinom ko, aside from my regular diabetes med (gliben at met). i'm a bit worried about this creatinine thing. is it alarming and in what way na pwede ko pababain ang level nito? madali na po ako mag apply dito sa pinas *** mag work uli abroad pero sa medical lang po ako medyo kinakabahan *** ilang offers na tinanggihan ko dahil gusto ko muna mkasigurado na magiging okay ang medical ko.

    salamat.
