Thumbs up S Magazine's 15 Best Actresses of All Time

Superstar Nora Aunor has topped S Magazine's recent
"greatest actresses in Philippine cinema" poll. She garnered 85 votes,
three more than her runner-up and arch-rival Vilma Santos. Lolita Rodriguez, Charito Solis and Hilda Koronel rounded out the top five.

Among the 100 respondents surveyed were film critics Butch Francisco, Mario Baustista,Gino Dormiendo and Mario Hernando; award-winning actors Dawn
Zulueta, Cesar Montano and Glydel Mercado; and film directors Jose
Javier Reyes, Brillante Mendoza, Ellen Onkeko-Marfil and Sigfried
    Barros- Sanchez.

In its October 2006 issue, the magazine said each randomly chosen respondent (majority of them industry players) was asked to list down his/her top 10 best Filipino actresses. S also included the five runners-up to expand the final ranking to 15.

La Aunor was cited for her compelling perfomances in Himala, Atsay,
Ina Ka ng Anak Mo, Bona, Ikaw ay Akin, Bulaklak sa City Jail,
Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos, Bilangin ang mga Bituin sa Langit,
Minsa'y Isang Gamu-gamo, Fe, Esperanza, Caridad, Banaue, Condemned,
Andrea...Paano ba ang Maging Isang Ina?, Bakit May Kahapon Pa?, Ang
Totoong Buhay ni Pacita M., Bakit Bughaw ang Langit?, The Flor
    Contemplacion Story, and Naglalayag.

Ten years ago, Nora also placed number one in a greatest Filipino actress
survey of the Manila Times' Lifestyle Section.

Here's the ranking of the top 15 Greatest Filipino Actresses Ever:

    1. Nora Aunor - 85 votes

para sa akin, ang no. 1 dapat ay si Cherry Pie Picache, she can handle very well different characters, be it a glamorous mistress, a well-educated, English speaking advertising executive or a lowly prostitute. Si Nora, mag-Ingles, hindi bagay.

    congrats sa mga napili

    ayan

2nd best na naman kay Shawie

no wonder kaya pala naghihimutok ang iba dyan

obvious naman na di kapanipaniwala na mas magaling si sharon ...lokohan na naman yan !

  10. #10
yung sa DGPI hindi kasama si JACKLYN JOSE. bakit kaya

VILMA should have topped the list, in my opinion.

  11. #11
Nora and Vilma over Lolita Rodriguez and Charito Solis?

excuse my french but that is just plain ********

and Cherie Pie Picache has got to be at least in the top 5

    last but not the least...

Sharon over Maricel? COME ON. We know who the bigger star is (product of hype and PR machines), but we also know who the BETTER actress is.

Huwaat? Sharon Cuneta Got Higher Votes Than Maricel Soriano?

Naman! Ang Daming Limitations Ni Sharon Cuneta.

Si Maricel Nagagampanan Lahat Halos Ng Character. Pagampanin Mo Si Marya Ng Katulong, Bitc* Na Chinese Executive, Babaeng Bakla, Tomboy, Galawgaw, Demure, Looser, A Glamorous Vietnamese. Name It! Kaya Niya. Ang Advantage Paniya Kahit Pangit Ang Script Ng Pelikula, Gumaganda Ito Dahil Sa Tinde Ng Performance Ni Marya At Lakas Ng Screen Presence Niya.

Yung Old Films Niya Na Napanood Ko Na Ang Nag-direct Ay Si Ishmael Bernal, Ang Husay Niya... The Likes Of Galawgaw, Hinugot Sa Langit, Pinulot Ka Lang Sa Lupa...

Failed Si Lino Brocka Kay Sharon Cuneta. Napanood Niyo Ang Biktima? Nung Sumigaw Siya Sa Movie, Basag Ang Boses! Yung Pasan Ko Ang Daigdig? Hinde Papasang Mahirap Si Sharon. Si Maricel Nakita Kong Gumanap Na Mahirap At Mayaman At Credible Siya.

because i know many shared my sentiments lol! at hindi mo na kailangan ang s magazine para masabi kung sino ang mas magaling kina maricel at sharon bata ka pa nga, you dont know your movie history. hindi mo pa napapanood ang kanilang mga movies. kahit na hindi, just check maricel and sharons' filmographies... malayong malayo.

The 15 Best Filipino Actresses of All Time
    FUNFARE by Ricardo F. Lo

    The Philippine Star 09/04/2004

Of course, you have your own choices and so have I. As you go over the list of The 15 Best Filipino Actresses of All Time, drawn up by the Directors’ Guild of the Philippines Inc. (DGPI) through its president Carlitos Siguion-Reyna, as requested by Yes! magazine editor-in-chief Jo-Ann Maglipon, you will surely wonder how come this or that actress isn’t on the list when she was memorable in this or that movie.

The criteria: The candidate’s choice of films; the impact, importance and legacy of her performance in these films; the consistency of excellence in those portrayals; and other important services to cinema in particular and to society in general.

The DGPI officers who sat as board of judges included Joel Lamangan, chairman; Carlitos Siguion-Reyna, president; Emmanuel Borlaza, vice-president; Joey Romero, secretary; Mel Chionglo, treasurer; and Erik Matti, Maryo J. delos Reyes and Romy Suzara, board members.

    1. MARICEL SORIANO: (1. Galawgaw, 2. Pabling, 3. Hinugot sa Langit, 4. Kaya Kong Abutin ang Langit, 5. Ikaw Pa lang ang Minahal, 6. Dahas, 7. Mila, 8. Mano Po and 9. Abot-Kamay ang Pangarap)

    2. SHARON CUNETA: (1. Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?, 2. Bukas Luluhod ang Mga Tala, 3. Pasan Ko ang Daigdig and 4. Madrasta)

WIZ KO NA ININCLUDE YUNG OTHER 13 ACTRESSES,,,,

DAHIL FEEL LANG NG ALINDOG KETCH,,, NA KYOMPALIN ANG MGA NAG MAMAGANDA DITEKLA...

    MGA NAGMAMAGANDANG WALANG K....
