anak ng... gugulpihin kita spider pag nakita kita...! bwah ha ha ha ha ha ha!
eh binibisto mo na edad natin eh.. well, nasa + 2 years na ang margin of error sa hula mo sa batch ko.. malapit na.. baka nga magkatabi lang tayo sa klase noon eh.

kita mo na puro pahapyaw lang ako sa mga new wave songs, eh *** naman talalang menention mo pa yung 20 years ago.. bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha !!! 'alang hiya, oo..

seriously speaking, kahit sa eng. consultancy ako at nag gain na rin ng additional knowledge, techniques, and experience through the years i'd like to confirm this to some younger mapuans: the basics did not change. and never will. ganun pa rin ang intros, ganun pa rin ang core principles ng mga pinag-aaralan natin sa eng. may mga nadagdag lang dahil sa advancement ng technology. pero ang fundamentals, yun at yun pa rin. we would still be going back to those old and classic ones.. sana manumbalik yung ganun sa mapua..

yan technique ni rey matias sa teaching niya dati. he spent longer time in explaining the basics. sabi nga niya dati '...pag nakita kung well absorbed na yung mga basics na tinuro ko, i know you'll all survive no matter where you go..' naaakkkss.. parang speech ni limahong ah.

akala ko mapua is gaining strength, yung dadagdagan lang. i-mo modify o i-enhance na lang nila kung ano meron na. pero parang it's totally changing instead.

i have read your previous posts and can't help but refresh my memory. pag apply ng trabaho noon, pag kasabay mo up, ust, la salle. kadalasan, it's either up or mapua ang kukunin. in fact, sabi ng barkada ko dito na mapuan, minsan some companies would prefer to get a mapuan over a upian dati dahil masyadong 'academic' ang dating ng up noon. at ang mapua, well balanced ang skill at academic strength.. well, well, baka magalit na naman ang mga 2000 version na mapuans..

dre.. baka naman may pix ka pa ni carol salamat, paki post naman.. he he he

yeah.. to put the philippines on a higher level is everybody's dream. and who doesnt..?

but where could be a better place to start 'lifting' this country other than our school itself.

if you think that thirty-forty isnt yet a red warning, then tell your tale to the pexers at academe's nov. 2006 ece board thread.

    i rest my case.

of course thirty-forty is a red warning, but what can we do? We do our best naman eh ( e2 nga pumasa ako tska *** batchmates ko eh). The problem behind the declining of mapua is not on the students. Admin na yung my problema, compare to your batch ( 19 kopong kopong pa), eh masyadong filter *** students thats why you end up na konti na lang *** kukuha ng board which is really magagaling ****. You see naman siguro *** result ng batch 2002 ( *** mga pioneer grad ng 2002). First batch graduate of batch 2002 are really good ****. Sigrado nasa 70 and above parin *** passing..

I have to disagree! Don't put the blame on the Admin alone. Students who graduated from 19 kopong-kopong mostly were not "Cream of the Crop". We just have this "persistent" attitude and were challenged to uphold mapua's good reputation. Back then, you also need "abilidad", not just brain; in order to survive. Kung seryoso, ma-abilidad at matiyaga ka, there's a good chance you'll understand and pass those subjects.

As for instructors, yes, some of them whose teaching abilities are going down the drain. But that's not the only reason why our school's reputation is diminishing. We also had our share of happy-go-lucky type instructors, but we didn't let them affect us. If the students strongly feel that changes has to be made in the Admin, why don't you guys voice out your opinion thru CSC.

Admin and students go hand in hand. Everybody's contribution is very important in order to be no. 1. Accountability is the key. And remember, your batch is leaving a legacy behind; thus setting the bar for the next graduationg class to follow.

parang restaurant yan. kung 50 lang katao ang gusto mong limit sa lugar mo, malamang mapapagsilbihan mo ang mga costumer dahil manageable ang dami. as a result, mataas ang quality ng serbisyo. and that is exactly what's happening to up, la salle, ust, or any other schools with good board exams performance.

    peace.

We're on the same boat blue, admin has a problem. Pero hindi mo masi-single out ang admin at sabihin na kasalanan nila yan (just what xybert's been telling us).

Ang point ko: yes, their greediness plays a big part in the downfall of Mapua. The quality started going downhill years before, it didn't happen overnight. And even if they did, from what I've read, some of the new instructors if not most, were products of UP. They're teaching style may be different, yet they're a product of a high caliber engineering university. So there should be no problem.

I'm not defending the new owner. Against din ako sa kanila the first time I heard they were planning of renaming Mapua to Malayan (saksakan at bugbugan ng KABADUYAN!), especially this idea of over crowding the school. I feel its highway robbery. Kukunin ang tuition saka ipapalamon sa leon. Ang sa akin, before we start pointing fingers at somebody, let's ask ourselves: Did we do our part? And if the answer is yes, then take it to the next level.

Anyway, I'm very loyal to Mapua and I just don't want to see its reputation going down the drain. Whatever the problem is, I hope they (admin and students) find out what's causing it; and figure out a way to solve it. Sana makita ko ulit and Mapua as Top Notchers sa board with a very small number of casualties.

kasi, sasabihin ng up grads, nag-aral kami todo-todo. yun pasado.

that means, the admin has been feeding you the wrong pill.

analyze nating mabuti. i'd just like to back up the claim i made before. kahit kulang ka o kahit wala kang luck, puwede mong ipasa ang board.. tama ba? dahil sa u.p. kaya nilang ipasa lagi ang board, with or without luck. kasi, kung mabigat ang influence ng luck, ibig ba sabihin laging lucky ang u.p.?

critical na lang siguro ang luck sa placing ng top 20. like what happened to erano sera (one of the most brilliant ce-mit grads in the 80's). he only placed 3rd. yun malas. samakatuwid, minimal lang talaga ang influence ng luck kung overall passing rate pag-uusapan.

eh pag mapua ang nagsabi, itong estudyante namin, puwede na. he he he... medyo tagilid, di ba..?

i think they (admin) should revise their admission and retention policies. bring back the 70's format, ah ewan ko na lang kung hindi ulit kayo bumalik sa 85% general passing rate.

oo. nakaka-miss din yung school natin kahit nakakapagod pumasok araw-araw lalo na pag malayo pa ang bahay mo (like me). aside from travelling everyday to school, yung mga ginagawa mo din dun araw-araw (assignments, study, quizzes, lab reports, etc.) nakakapagod kaya try to have a schedule na merong atleast 1 day na walang pasok.

It was 1000 to 1200 pesos lang kada sem nung nag graduate ako.
