Wedding vows
Pls. I need some suggestions about a special vows not the typical one that we used to say in a wedding ceremony. Yun bang tipong makabagbag damdamin, something that comes from your heart. Ano ba ang mas touching ang dating? english or tagalog? I'm currently looking for one for myself, my bf will look for one for himself. But I have absolutely no idea where to begin. Pls help!!

ako prefer ko english wala lang! but anyway, for vows, i really think you should say something that comes from your heart. pwde kang gumawa ng draft and then have it corrected by someone na poetic or romantic.

just my two cents.... (and i hope i dont sound mayabang..opinion lang po)
If you can speak well in english, (meaning with accent (miski neutral lang), diction and enunciation) then go for it.otherwise, tagalog na lang. i've heard quite a few personal vows spoken in English but sorry, parang wala ring essence. it's either bulol o di ma-pronounce *** words ng maayos. (lalo na sa video)...pero siguro nadadaan naman din sa practice. bottomline is, vows, no matter what language you are going to use, should always come from the heart. hindi *** *** para lang masabi na "hanep, bigat ng wordings ng vows nyo ah!"... *** message,yun pa rin ang mas importante. Language should just come as your second priority. minsan kasi di ba, ang daming words sa tagalog na walang direct translations sa english... yun lang po... (,") |

hi. if your mass is in english, you have to go for an english vow. kung filipino naman, tagalog dapat ang vow.
and yes, ninja is right. the vow should be spontaneous (i mean, when your writing it). comes from the heart. and practice it! |

i guess, this is pretty standard naman. kaya nga may english and tagalog misalette. i just want to share...a former supervisor from a previous company was married to a german national. They had a a garden type christian wedding. As they say they vows, we, (the guests, of course) were stunned and overwhelmed i guess, to hear that this german was saying his vow in ILOCANO and my friend was saying her vow in GERMAN. hehehehe cute  i really didnt understand what they were telling to each other but it was sooOoooo touching, seeing the bride crying as she watch her groom say his vow. (no cheat sheet...he memorized it!) a week after the wedding, i received a thank you card from the couple so i decided to call my friend and asked my her about their "intriguing" vow....all this time, it was her who wants to surprise his husband re her vow but the surprise came in reverse. |

^sweetness naman nun! ako naman, touched ako sa exchange of vows ni raymart and claudine when they got married. tear-jerker yung part na yun eh.

it depends as to what language you're comfortable with. ang mahalaga diyan ay ang sincerity and honesty as you utter your vows.

I'd love to say my vows in tagalog (even if I plan to get married abroad) because pure and deep tagalog just sounds so much more beautiful than english. But given how bad I am in deep tagalog (I can speak straight, conversational tagalog yes - - but the poetic type, I can't) - - I'd stick to english
