What exactly is "trance" music?
Hello, phathead! I like your taste. In particular, Moloko's "Sing It Back" is one of the best house melodies out today. I question, though, whether it can be called trance (I guess it depends on which mix we're referring to: the "Boris Edit" is the track getting a lot of airplay [at least on LA 105.9], but the Todd Terry remix is more "trancey"). In any which case, if you'd like a copy of the mixes (all 10 of them), you can get in touch with me and I'll be more than happy to provide you a cassette recording of it.![]()
sampaguita: trance is lotsa treble it's deafening... hehehe. it's a branch of electronica music that's pretty new. you probably hear it when you're out in clubs around the metro.
mister dean: yup! not all the songs i listed can be listed as trance. jesus! you have 10 versions of one song? you really must be one heck of an enthusiast. thanks for the offer though i'm fine with what songs i have.Ü do ya hunt em down (the remixes) or do ya download em from somewhere?
Sing It Back... da bomb, man!!!
Schumacher!
The titiririt song
Braveheart
hmm better off alone is way too overplayed down there, don't you think?
anyways, sampaguita, i frankly don't know the difference between a lot of electronica music..there's a fine line between ambient, techno, trip hop, drum&bass and trance (there's also goatrance which is influenced by hindu mantras..thus the added prefix goa, as in goa, india). Trance is influenced by a lot of raving/clubbing culture in europe during the 80's and early 90's. It was thus called trance because it takes you to a trance-like state especially with specific mind-altering recreational narcotics(which i do not promote the use of)
anyways, my current "trance" songs are Godspeed by BT and Till I come by ATB. I am more of a triphop and drum&bass person, though![]()
Uy Moloko at Schumacher.. LOL
Kasama ba sa Trance si Dave Angel?
I'm into goth and elektronika.. techno, trip hop...
ahhh.... ganun bang trance music?
Thanks for enlightening me phathead and tr|n|ty!Now that I think about it, trance is actually played here quite a lot. Though I'm not so much as a big fan, it's still good to dance to. If it's got the beat, you gotta groove with it!
