Since UAAP left Silverstar and moved on to Studio 23 of ABS-CSB. I think an outfit such as Silverstar would cover the NCAA better. Media Conglomerates FAILED to cover most of the NCAA games and lacked sponsors and advertisers. Since PTV-4 covered the Sydney Olympic games, MCI was backtracked and the NCAA lost a lot of supporters again. The NCAA committee bungled a lot on this part. I am disgusted.

What the NCAA needs:
1. A better coverage of the NCAA games
2. Better sports commentators
3. More sponsors
4. A better venue

NCAA lost glamour to the UAAP pero its never too late to rehabilitate the oldest collegiate league and I think we should voice out our opinions regarding this issue. It's beneficial not only to Benilde but to all its rival schools in the NCAA. I hope to hear constructive criticisms. No more of that thrash and bash from the UAAP pexers please. Thank you!

Talking Correct kayo dyan!

Naiinis talaga ako dahil napaka "POOR" ng COVERAGE ng NCAA! Minsan pinapalabas pag swerte kaso nga lang delayed! Correct ka dyan AltarBoy they need a better sponsor and venue.
Dva!

FYI, Vintage TV doesn't exist anymore that's why channel 13 is now called Viva TV. RE: the coverage of the NCAA, i definitely agree that they should find someone better to cover their games. They didn't even show the last game of the Finals

Ang contract ng NCAA dati sa Vintage (Viva-Tv) was good for two years lang. I think hindi na na-renew ang contract due to the "Letran-JRC Rumble". But here's the ironic part, WALANG GULO na nangyari between San Sebastian and St. Benilde but why wasn't there a coverage of the last game of the finals? Something's very fishy. Sana malaman natin. We need a better venue than Rizal Memorial Coliseum if the government can't even rehabilitate it in the first place! Better coverage please. More airtime (kahit hindi live). We need a better tv outfit!!! Hope Mr. Henry Atayde (St. Benilde Rep to the NCAA committee) voice out on this one. Peace!

The NCAA committee needs to rehabilitate itself. I'll ask our rep to the NCAA regarding the coverage. We may be wrong and I smell something fishy. I smell graft and corruption. And it stinks to high heavens! Palagay niyo?

ANIMO BENILDE!!!

Opinyon lang po... pero I will have to disagree na mas maganda yung coverage dati ng Vintage TV sa NCAA noon 1997 (?) kaysa coverage ng UAAP ng Silverstar.

I'm a basketball fan and I studied in a UAAP school pero my older sister studied in a NCAA school... thus, I got to watch the coverage of both leagues. And I used to jokingly tell my sister na kaya kinuha ng Vintage yung NCAA eh dahil hindi nakuha ng Vintage ang UAAP noon... and she would get really mad at me.

And I always enjoyed watching UAAP because it has a definite timeslot - 1PM - 5PM while NCAA had erratic schedules... kadalasan, napupuyat sister ko manood kasi late at night na pinapalabas yung games noon.

I think what the NCAA needs is a broadcaster that will take the risk like what Silverstar did.

bale parang breeding ground nila ang NCAA to develop a good commentator..

media conglomerates simply SUCK!!!!

by the way, sino pala *** host next NCAA?

Sayang talaga Vintage. Silverstar ay magaling din dahil they made UAAP what it is right now. The commentators sa Silverstar are better than the people in Vintage and Media Conglomerates combined. Sulit ang coverage and not too much advertisement crap.

And yes, I agree with you sa sinabi mo that Silverstar helped bring UAAP where it is now... they helped popularize the league even more.

Sana na lang lahat ng leagues - whether basketball or soccer or any other sport ay may sari-sariling matinong broadcaster na magko-cover para walang away...para lahat sikat.

Local version ng ESPN? Why not?! Studio 23 is good for MBA and UAAP. Eh NCAA? We need a tv outfit that can meet the needs of a league like ours. We need to rehabilitate NCAA's image and what better way to make it better than a better coverage of its games and I want Silverstar!!!

Actually, as far as I know, Silverstar tried to be part of the coverage for this year's NCAA but it didn't work out with the Team Orbos group who had the rights. Silverstar was also swamped with taking care of the Olympic preparations.

We'll just have to see next year as to what happens.

Peace.

AltarBoy^_^ - I don't think any media outfit can turn around NCAA at once or even in a year and bring the level of TV coverage to what Silverstar did for the UAAP since 1991. Gosh! 9 years?! who can beat that? ... kahit nga UAAP na-surpass pa ang popularity ng PBL because of the regular coverages before... and to think PBL was also televised by Silverstar noon. ngayon, sino na ba?

But tt would take a lot of money... a lot of risk... and a lot of heart and dedication... specially with the present economic situation today...

At kung totoo yung sinabi ni Kaboom!... sayang that it did not materialize... the more, the merrier... di ba?

A respectable league like the NCAA needs a respectable tv outfit like Silverstar. I have been following Silverstar since it handled the UAAP. The UAAP and Silverstar were a perfect combination from the start. I am confident in Silverstar in handling the games. And if they are still the tv outfit, I hope and pray that they improve for the sake of our league.
