    we love some.
    we hate some.
but we cant do anything about them.
    they're universal.
    they're forever.
    boybands.
    where there are teenage girls.
    they're around.

This is cut and pasted from my answer to mykeskye's thread "Misleading Meaning"...
i want to use the term "boy band" loosely
technically a band must have instruments. so, going by that - the beatles should be a boy band.

but if we go with pop culture's all-encompassing definition then it's really about all-male groups (from trios like 911 to quintet's like the oddly named 5ive) who just sing.

and even then i'd like to make my own distinction between that kind of a boy band and a VOCAL group... honestly: bsb, boyzone, code red, 911, westlife and the now defunct bed & breakfast are leagues below the latent talent of REAL vocal groups like the stylistics, the four tops, boyz II men and, now, 98 Degrees (although they tend to be called a boy band too).

hmmm... may point ba ako? ah! there are "boy bands" who are better than others, there are those who have great songs and those who should just go back to college and get their degrees or something... if you dont like them, then tune them out. i like some, i cant stand others... yun yata yung point ko. (sorry, medyo bangag!)

i have nothing against them it's just that they only cater to teens. ok lang. no big deal. i don't prefer them as boybands. i hate that word. i see them as singing groups.
